Beck has the best "con" to the FairTax that I've heard (and I'm a FairTax supporter) since it's one that doesn't have a rebuttal that's readily available on the web. The only one I can offer is that *any* system is corruptible. We pretty much started out with a "flat tax" on income around when the 18th amendment was ratified and look at the mess we have now! The "one thing" that helps the FairTax is that you can't hide "exceptions". It would all show on the receipt like at the grocery store.
