I'd like to see a clip of the scene that Ms. Bancroft mentions in this clip---it's the one where she takes on a shyster gambler (Burgess Meredith) at poker and "takes him to the cleaners".
Can you help? I am looking on youtube for any bit of a 1964 television show called East Side West Side. I just learned about it. It was supposed to be quite good, but was cancelled after one year. It dealt with issues of race, issues of life in the big city, I understand scripts were smart, acting good starred George C Scott. I searched youtube by title, actor's name. So much but none of it that. I can't believe no one uploaded as it had a short re-run a few years ago.
Crocfme you have it right. George played superb roles when it seemed the odds were against him, just like in this movie. I enjoyed his work and miss him.
Geoge C Scott. An actor of the old school. Fighting for The Bible in a courtroom, or for freedom on the battlefields of ww2...a superb talent and a symbol of his generation. There will never be another like him.

I just posted a clip from "They Might Be Giants". A very rare film in which you see Scott at his finest.

Marvelous scene - floating, timeless. Only Anne Bancroft could pull off dialogue like that and make it sound real and theatrical at the same time.
