I don't see why all of these tuners make their versions of the Camaro. I hate to say it but the Camaro is just not that great of a car. It may look nice, especially this particular one with the minor carbon aero bits and wheels but I don't see the point. I'd rather spend this money on a 911 S or Dinan M3.
The problem is all these after market or specialty companies are all coming up with outrageously priced versions of the camaro that do pretty much the same numbers....where is the trend setter?
i dont know why everybody is using the heavy , L99 package ? The v6 has the most potential 500 hp with a proper suspension, because lets face it the amount of power they put down for the weigh is not impressing anybody. lighter, forced induction motors should produce similar if not better numbers, coupled with a usable suspension. The 30k upgrade seems like a very slight improvement , almost the same as just buying some TIEN shocks and springs with some rims. For 40k i could do it with a V6.
These tuner shops are sort of missing the point don't you think? These are supposed to be the pony cars average people can afford are they not? I'm not against modding by any means but for the money one would drop on one of these specially tuned racers, you could build a mean camaro AND buy a car for the wife lol.
this ground effects kit looks soooooo good! the one GM equiped to the camaro as an option looks like shit... why couldn't they make it look like this car?!?!?!
@aieljose i see your point, but its a callaway. Callaway Corvette ring a bell? Youre payin for the name on this one. Although for 90k youd think it would have more power haha
lol 92k? Sorry chevy but your prices are getting a little out of hand! You can buy a base 2011 5.0 for $29k which STILL performs better! Fail camaro...
i think the base camaro has better numbers other then the hp, and for 90k id just go get the zr1, or anything else for that matter other then this pos. Would rather have the v6 mustang than this lol.
And yes the Camaro has a modern independent rear suspension and the Mustang still does not. But you know what? After comparing the two of them back-to-back this week, we have to admit that Ford still has the best behaving rear suspension even if the design does date back a few centuries. Were officially and begrudgingly done carping about the Mustangs lack of an IRS here at TMN. Chevy has proven that it is not a magic bullet.
@1vdn992 Everybody complained about mustangs irs back a few years ago.... now everybody complains about the live rear.... make up your freakin mind people. My only complaint is why not have a choice ;) Track(IRS)/Drag(solid)..........
Nuff said...
Oh and this camaro blows ass and sounds like a taxi!! Not worth the money.
@1vdn992 the last news I had read just a day or two ago says that It may not have even been payed off. They are claiming that it was extra TARP money that was shuffled around to say that they did...which would make GM and the government look good. But, I don't know that any of us will know the truth for sure until all the bailout era blows over. Even at that the government may never tell us.
@SScamaro93 So you saw there ad as well, but it is bs. Check out Reason TV. how did G.M. pay back their loan. G.M. payed back nothing. The government is still running the company.
i have had a 86 ,a 88 now I own a 98 camaro and I love it I know a guy that has the 2010 v6 and he paid 32,000 for it I bought my 98 for 2,000 and im happy with it for his 2010 he pays over 3,000 a yr for insurance mine is about 900 ill keep my 98 camaro for a while ty and ya he is around 50 im only 41, nice car but im not paying that much no way
I'm a Camaro guy down to the bone, but the price is just fucking retarded. Why the fuck bother? If you have that kinda money you might as well buy a ZR1.
@wildbloodydragon Agreed. not to mention. I think they could've gotten it a little faster for the $80,000 price difference. The Roush looks hotter and it probably faster than this.
@wildbloodydragon Yeah I here ya.But they have come way down seen one on ebay for around 80K..New zr1 are still over 110-115k.Also 11 second car with a back seat and a trunk..But I think I would just buy the callway corvette cheaper than a zo6 and almost as fast zr1..
The typical buyers of tuned Camaros from tuning companies are mostly 50+ men. Callaway in another video actually states that it targets mainly retired male and Corvette owners as its customers. Their customers generally do not prefer European or Japanese cars, but want something along the line of the Corvettes.
That thing is MEAN LOOKING! you know one of those after market tuning company should make a model that it's main focus is to have a lighter better handling Camaro instead of just beefing up the motor and exhaust I wanna see a model that lighten and works the handling
trust me i am a shelby fan (i own one), but the problem with the supersnake that it has too much power and it fights for traction forever. The 2011 shelby's numbers are pretty close to this anyway and this is not even a legit camaro anyway.
is it just me, or is it that most camaros that are customized like this one, or the SLP 575 are super expensive and give u specs that can be matched by a 2011 mustang GT 5.0?!?! i think the only legit camaros that are customized is from hennessey...it seems they can ACTUALLY give a camaro performance specs 4 a semi-ok-decent price...but 92k, wtf r they smokin??!!/
That thing is terrible for the price you pay... I love all types of cars but that is terrible for that much money. And it sounds quiet and non-beefy as well wtf :/
OK, first off I'm a Ford guy but I do respect ALL cars import or domestic. Love it or hate it, I think I'd take a Mustang GT and throw some cash in it and get the same results plus bank the difference. That's my opinion, and everyone has one, just like assholes.
ummmm nope. Maybe a callaway corvette. Not the camaro, that's not the signature callaway car. The only callaway cars that would be worth anything would probably be the older ones that would come from the dealer with the callaway option.
this must be the most pointless camaro ever, even with it passing emissions and all. Don't get me wrong i have respect for what the people at callaway do, especially their corvettes, but this camaro doesn't make any sense. It's barely an improvement and yet costs 92.000. come on now, a 92.000 camaro?. 92.000 can get you a lot more than a camaro.
is it just me, or does it seem like no matter what exhaust you put on it, the new camaro always sounds like ass no matter what! wheres the throaty v8 rumble?? this is a big displacement v8 and it sounds like a high output v6 at times for christs sake
