This doesn't look to bad but honestly I think the Cam Caddie will get you superior results with room to attach lights or mics. It's a little more running at $38 but it was worth it.
Very crafty, wish I could say I would trust my DSLR on something I made myself but I most certainly wouldn't. So I shelled out a well spent $38 on the Cam Caddie Scorpion and it's made all of my videos so much better. I recommend it to anyone in need of better quality videos.
I like your construction and thought about building one on my own.
I saw this kind of pilates-ring in a local store, it looked the same like the one you are using.
I just saw that it isn't really really stable on it's own (what is normal for a pilates-ring I think :D), does this gets better when the rail is inserted?
@sahnej0ghurt Hey, its used for fitness. What exactly I have no idea haha. Yes it is flimsy without the rail is the ring is just a ribbon of plastic, its thick though but still its more sturdy with the rail.
This isn't a steadicam, it's called a fig rig, but, serves the same purpose. Nice build, wouldn't have thought on a pilates ring! Handles and all already there.
The audio seems to cut out if you click "SKIP THIS AND BUILD IT NOW" If you click it and you cant hear anything (music/voice-over) refresh the page and wait till the video loads about half-way, or just wait for 35seconds after the comparison shots finish
Thanks and I hope you enjoy the video, dont forget to comment like and sub it would be greatly appreciated :)
great work mate.

Nice DIY I didn't know about 'pilates' rings before :)
It looks like you're threading an M6 bolt into your cameras tripod socket.
I really thought the standard tripod thread had to be '1/4inch whitworth'
So M6 (6mm metric) thread works too ... interesting. Thanks.
