I'm a 78 grad - rider, canoist, swimmer, marathoner, scuba diver + senior UN staff - phi beta kappa from Sweet Briar - SBC really helped me to be all I can be.. : ) go 4 it ! and good luck !
I want to go to SBC but I do have a question. U c I have had no experience with horses, only ridden a few times. It is my dream to own a horse ranch. I don't really want to compete during my stay at SBC just learn how to ride and info like a class not as a sport. I don't want to join the horse riding team just do the Equine Studies! Can I just learn about horses and how to ride or do I have to compete like a sport?
my old trainer went there i have 4 more years left of school but i am checking aulburn, and sweet briar out but i would love to go there. and i sadly have to get a new horse mine is too old but i love him he will be 28 when i go to college
Yes! Sweet Briar has a brother school that's single sex called Hampton Sydney. There's also VMI (Virginia Military Institute), UVA, Washington and Lee, and James Madison U. Plenty to choose from :)
I have a question, im looking at sweet briar and i dont own my own horse, ive had different leases over the past few years that i showed but we just cant afford to buy a show horse. does SBC have horses there to ride or do you have to bring your own??
Ohh I really want to go to SBC. I'm a sophomore and ever since I was in 7th grade I've been dreaming about going there. And if I could bring my horse w/ me that'd be awesomeeee hahaha
I graduated from Sweet Briar forty-some years ago... and I am grateful to you for these lovely pictures. I loved SBC. As a studednt, I don't think I fully appreciated the extraordinary beauty of the campus, but I do now.
can u pm me and tell me allllll about it i really want to go there i still have 4 more years of school but i wana know what i need to do to get accepted
Im assuming your interested in the equestrian part of sweet briar...
Did you like it? Is it as nice as it seem on the website? Im only a highschool freshman but ive been looking a colleges alot lately...Also did you check/are you planning on looking at Wilson in PA?
Sweet Briar was amazing- I'm a freshman too. We also looked at Hollins. I liked Hollin's riding program better, but the SB school better. Hollins had a smaller on purpose riding program focused on individuals, while SB was larger and less personalized. I suppose it depends on what you look for, though. We're also looking at Mount Holyoke and Smith, but I've never heard of Wilson. I'll have to look it up (:
Ok cool, ill look those 3 up you menchioned =) SB is really expensive, and your horse has to quilify to get in...which when i get my childrens/junior horse he will be able to but if my current horse is still around i would like to bring him as well, but he couldnt make the SB standards, oh well maybe ill just board him off campus. But board on campus is 800, a bit steep imo. thou the facilitys are really nice. Yeah look up wilson, it looks really nice!
