  • He might not be a genius, but the inventor of this particular algorithm certainly was. Nobody in my entire school knew anout that before I watched this video and began propogating the news to my fellow friends/classmates.

  • I like how he used the numbers 1 to 3, because if it's got any 9s or 8s, you're fucked my friend.

  • This isn't really new...

  • OMG! This does not make you a genius..that's the same as saying...., 1 okay , one apple .2 okay two apples lol....and crossing them together....DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH

  • cool!

  • Ok well done I'm 25 and I am A scientist/arceologist

I hope all of you find a great job in life

    God bless all :)

  • i never thought of it like that, thanks

  • thats ancient mathematics!

  • i dont know which pixel the numbers are.....

  • calculator dude, calculator

  • it's not genius to do it, to come up with it is more impressive.

  • It's actually fairly simple .-. Lol just a round about way of doing it

  • wow thats awesome i will need this for sure

  • My head hurts jut trying to understand this. I barely know my times table

  • or you could just multiply them top, bottom....

  • this is old

  • i used to be genius like you but then i took arrow to head

  • I Actually Managed To Understand That And I Am Usually Slow With Anything That Doesn't Involve Gaming

  • this isn't very hard, but it take as many time as you spend for multiplication in the column

  • Just another problem solving for simple maths.

  • Comment removed

  • now hold on a minute... that's just lattice multiplication!

  • Why is this genius if this person needs to draw lines on paper and then count the intersections in order to multiply numbers?

  • a calculator is enough for me...

  • Thats fuckin stupid, try numbers higher than 6 and your fucked..

  • @UrbanAcer I tried using 3 digit numbers and it still works. Well you'd just have to have lots of time and be really patient.

  • That seems like a good way to visualize the answer of a big number. But it's still a pointless skill 'cause even your watch can do it faster.

  • @corradi3 no calculator to hand, and this will save your ass, there are no useless methods in maths, exspect for bubble sort... thats a load of crap

  • 1 + 1 = 11...there, I'm a genius.

  • @1SavageDragon1 Except this is for multiplication and this actually still works for 1 * 1, so no... you are not a genius.

  • not genius just a nice trick..

  • um cool trick but were in the 21st century, we have calculators.

  • cool cool, but for most people (myself included) itd be faster just multiplying it out wouldnt it?

  • somebody please explain for the retarded.

    god dammit i hate math.

  • And I still use a calculator.

  • Comment removed

  • omg...this is an awesome trick!

  • its a way they teach in japan they do not have any calc-

  • jimmy neutron is a genius

  • im a math genius im only 10 years old i cant wait for my birthday im going to be 11 years old

  • @wade9638 really you are 1o and going to be 11? cool man!! at least you're good in math despite the nonsense .

  • Genius? I can do the same thing as fast with basic digit-by-digit multiplication

  • holy shit ur a genies

  • good way. but he's not genius.

  • I didn't know that g was a number o.O

  • @DallasJ96 dont know if u r jsut joking but just in case u didnt know the "g" was actually a "9"

  • dont know how to draw.. basic multiplication works on me.. thanks for the vid though :)

  • OOOOOO AAAAAAAHHHH :OOOOO

    yay I'm smart now x3

  • This, my good man, is why we have calculators.

  • dude your not a genius i did this in half the time you did

  • Calculator ??

  • 21*10 + 21*3 = 210 + 63 = 273

    Much easier

  • @voidwareprohibited it is neither slow nor absurd. in mathematics, we have an appreciation for all sound strategies and algorithms. this particular method of problem-solving falls into the category of Vedic mathematics. the great value of this method is that it does not require any memorization of multiplication tables.

  • try it with 888 x 999

  • or you can just use a calculator......DUH

  • @EpicGamerness you're working the stupidest-fucking-comment-possible angle pretty hard there pal

  • It only works with 1,2 and 3 ?

  • @lollipopsalexia

No, for example (11)(18) and (12)(24) work. But it doesn't work for so many cases that it is better for you to forget you ever saw this. :)

  • @4EverTrying yeh now i can do it ^^

  • @lollipopsalexia could be... why don't you try it with 5, 6, 9, etc and see for yourself?

  • shit this made me laugh its so tight lol

  • wow, 8th mystery of the world!!

  • Amazing !

  • I get it its very easy accually, but a kinda stupid way of doing it

  • I get it! Cool way of doing it :D

  • E=mc vagina

  • @crazyhog09 haha

  • @voidwareprohibited I was just saying it's a neat trick. I can multiply it in my head if I want, but it might take a minute if it's two 3 or 4 digit numbers. Also, I found that the video doesn't show what to do when more than one of the sums are double digit numbers.

  • @voidwareprohibited I disagree. It's faster than multiplying the traditional way where you write the numbers on top of each other.

  • Hardly "genius", but its a neat trick...good for cocktail party hosted by the accounting department.

  • @blankchck lol

  • that's cool !

  • this is useless, if you use large number like 6 7 8 and for example try multipling 76*36---- I got some weird answer

  • this is bullshit, you can draw this out much faster

  • @orikid94 whats the square rout of minus 2 then

  • @orikid94 i know it was a joke duh i was trying to say thyat he will never beat me

  • Visual multiplication, which is the exact same from standard multiplication (except visual), is not genius.

  • It seems strange at first, but if you think about it it is just long multiplication, except you count how many lines cross at each multiple of 10. So instead of doing like 2*4 you will just count 2 lines crossing with 4 lines which is 8 dots. Might just use it to freak people out though :D

  • what's he doing?

can someone please explain how he calculates the equation?

  • @voidwareprohibited No one is claiming its "a video for dyslexic people" I simple stated the person maybe dyslexic. How is it “a slow and absurd way of doing mathematics” if the person is incapable of doing them any other way?

    What is "to troll"?

My logic isn’t flawed I’m giving you my reason for not agreeing with you. “Your logic is flawed because you have none” Why state something that doesn’t exist? What the fuck are you smoking, it’s pretty strong?

  • @voidwareprohibited Don’t agree, this person probably suffers from dyslexia or another form of xia. I do agree with you that it’s not genius though, just not slow and absurd. Just because one person does one thing a different way to you doesn’t mean it’s wrong, stupid or absurd.

  • this is pretty cool

  • Remember I was here.Thai 4:43PM 8/27/2011

  • haha nice i understand how to do that.

  • not bad

  • It's not as amazing as it may seem. It's distribution 123*321=(100+20+3)(300+20+1). It's easier to do multiplication this way without drawing the lines.

  • now we don't need to calculator woow

  • WooooooW Amaaaaaaaazing @_@

  • Comment removed

  • interesting method indeed

  • O.O

    TUT?

  • what?

  • The first one is just calculating 21*13=(2*10+1)*(1*10+3)=2*1*100 + 2*3*10+1*1*10 + 3*1 = 200+70+3. The rest are the same system.

  • Mind......Fucked

  • @Xxkillzone582xX whats the 1st verse and the chorus to that song? Also, i cant remember the name.... so annoying

  • This is a crap way to multiply. It works but there is no sense of why it works, so you are inclined to forget how to do it. Also note how the biggest digit used here is 3. Just try doing 78 x 97 like this as see how long it takes!

  • This is not a math genius -.- for your information, this is the way the mayans and the aztecs multiplied... it's not his method, but an ancient math method of the pre hispanic mexico.

  • lol i tryed with 77*48 and i ended up with 258456... and the right answer is 3696...

  • @dontaskme68 Tried that too but I got 3696! You should have got 288456 which is really 28|84|56 and that you should make to 28+8|4+5|6 = 3696

  • This is just lattice multiplication without the numbers in the grids... Imagine doing 9678 * 6795 this way...

  • the 21*13he did it in 25 sec. i think...and...(NOT being a "math genius") did it in less than 14 sec....

  • @imariong981 no he showed us counting with his pencil normally it will take less

  • Nothing Genius Here. The Intersections are nothing but the multiplications. ( 3 lines will intersect with 2 at exactly 6 places and so on).

The Problem is with the figures that you need to carry. These examples involve only 1 figure's carrying and can be seen as

ab x cd = (axc) (axd + bxc) ( dxb)

The middle term involves the figures that have to be added up ( carry ons). It's really elementary. The use of lines intersection is interesting to see however.

  • WHY AREN'T SCIENTISTS STUDYING THIS NEW FORM OF SOLVING?!?!

  • @flowiepanda becasue they made a fking calculator

  • he looks like a tard not a genius what about this makes him genius? that he can draw lines and solve simple multiplication? dislike.

  • 999x999

  • @iwantmoretofu 999x1.000=999.000

    999.000-999=998.001

    simple...

  • so whats genious here? he just draws the multiplication. same result waht you do when you write it down...

  • @Alexon88 Well this person can actually do multiplications so that makes him a genious to most of us LOL! And not only that, he can do it by graphing lines LOL! Did you see the comment someone else put on here "why aren't scientists studying this new method of solving!?!?" LOL! Poor dim wit person. I think I'll graph out binary problems on paper and ask congress for funding to study my matrixes and how this "new way of solving" can be used more LOL!

  • clever

  • interesting how the numbers 123 are involved in those equations, hm...

  • EVERYONE KNOWS THAT METHOD, FAIL.

  • how do you do zero, like if it was 208?

  • we are in modern world, we should be learning how to use calculators and computers.

  • I just did this on my calculator in under .3 seconds

    UMAD kID??

  • this is a usefull trick not a genius:/

  • That's actually pretty sweet

  • @Xxkillzone582xX why are you doing this? spammer

  • Ok, now try 9898998 x 989998989 .... need more paper ?

  • It's hardly original. That's how the Aztecs did math.

  • What is this method called? It's the coolest shit I've ever fucking seen

  • "32=4D

    answer is

8=D like if u get it"

    ^^^

  • @iknowudo1 i got it but no i didnt like it

  • original :)

  • quite an unusual - some might say creative - technique but it hardly makes you a "math genius"

  • Comment removed

  • dude this is so fucking cool

  • omg this is so cool i tried it with a bunch of other problems ahhhh lol so cool

  • No sorry it's 90

  • @toppsmastercollector No, im sorry, its over nyan thousand.

  • Cmon i chalenge you to a math battle The squere rute of 8,100 is ........900

  • @toppsmastercollector no actually it is 90 :p

  • ur smart but nyan cat is smarter

  • This video would be nothing without Nyan Cat.

  • if you were a genius you wouldn't even have to write the operation.

  • interesting technique!

  • what does this have to do with nyan cat. anyways i edited the nyan video to have a scary pop up and i put the reaction of 2 little boys on my channel. go & check them OUT!!!! THNKS LOL IT IS HILARIOUS AND IT IS ABOUT TO GO VIRAL

  • a genius that write a 9 as a g.

  • erm pretty sure calculator's have bin made.

  • @kelvynz Erm, pretty sure someone had to write the OS for the calculator. I'm also fairly certain that calculators do not have the ability to make bins.

  • awesomes

  • But dont genius live in a lamp?

  • @ThePoisonedTaco That's a genie, genius... *facepalm*

  • Or you could use a calculator.

  • I think i can do it faster in my head...It take longer time than think.

  • We want to be understood...

    watch?v=iXqhOukjQn8

  • k now please multiply 9999 with 999

  • @danionut90 9999 x 999 is easy as crap... you just do 999x 10000 -999 = 9,990,000 -1000+1 = 9,989,000+1=9,989,001. That takes like 5 seconds...

  • @ThomasEmain Please do a video and prove it

  • @danionut90 You don't need a video... multiplying anything by a multiple of 10 means you just add the 0's. 9999x999 is 999 away from 10,000 x 999, so you just add 4 zero's to 999 and subtract 999. Subtracting 999 is easier done by just taking 1000 away and then adding 1. All really easy steps. Like I said, about 5 seconds.

  • @ThomasEmain your not a fucking genius like him so it doesn't matter

  • @Xxkillzone582xX i just watched a three hour long version

  • I got it first time I watched it.

  • i love the part when u lift the pen!

  • dude thats amazing, but im still slightly skeptical, can you give me a vigoruos proof WHY it works.

  • This guy isn't a genius our 6th grade math teacher showed us this. It's how they did math in the really old days

  • Hah, nice one.

  • I... understand this!

Just think of your general multidigit multiplication. Multiply the number together and add up the results. All he's done is developed a visual method of acheiving it.

Still it's still pretty interesting to watch.

  • @Zappyguy111 i know right its genius kids that still give me hope that the future of america wont be ruined by the idiots you see in every day highschool

  • i was on "what happens if the sun ceases to exist" before this, but im goin to cyan cat w.e.t.f that is.

  • 3g483 interesting answer

  • try that with 876 x 79

  • That's pretty cool

  • Watch this while listening to nyan cat. It will help you bend the rules of Math and never have problems with it ever again.

  • LOL. I can't believe everyone was listening to the Nyan Cat before they found this.

Okay, yes, I was on the Nyan Cat too.. but I'm still listening to it! :D

  • lol its all patterns
