KD lang has a beutiful voice!

This is a nice arrangement, but there was a commercial, I think for G.E., where they reprise this duet. The orchestration on that brief segment may be the best symphonic accompaniment I have ever heard in 64 years. And I have played music semi-pro for 50 years, so I know good musical work when I hear it. Their voices work very well together.

Little known fact - this song was originally offered to Tony Bennett. When he turned it down, it was given to Louis Armstrong, who recorded it. I admire both Bennett and Lang, but Armstrong's recording is so perfect, I just don't see what anyone else has to offer.

Bennett projects because his audience is quite large and he wants the people in the back to hear him. He's a true professional that way.

Two problems keeping it from reaching its peak:

a. Lang's tendency to slur the words

b. Bennet resorting to yelling lines rather than singing

If you're not going for perfection, what's the point?

Interesting comment - although they have very different singing styles I feel they compliment each other very well.

Tony Bennett has a very distinctive vocal style ,I certainly wouldn't say he resorts to yelling. You should checkout their live performances on YouTube were you see just how in tune with each other they are - they seem to be striving for perfection to me .

@TheRichaard There are no problems with this my friend. Two of the greatest vocalists the world has ever known. Maybe nothing is perfect but T.B. certainly does not yell and KD does not slur. Maybe you should stop drinking and actually listen to this.

i see it as your personal insight into how naturally full of grace this world can be and how visionary Tony and k d's singing can be, when great artists get together to make their fans happy one time more. i just hope Tony and kd find time to record more songs together.
