Her husband at the time (I believe he worked as a writer or a director, I can't remember which) gave it to her. Upon their divorce, later on in the show, she isn't appearing to wear that necklace any more, she then wears a necklace with an "S" on it.

Yes, she was. He son Robert was born in October 1965, a few weeks after this was broadcast. So, this episode probably would have been filmed in June or July when she was 5 or 6 months pregnant.

Also, she was pregnant in real life 4 years later when Samantha was pregnant with Adam. So, both of Elizabeth's pregnancies were written into the show.

Kinda funny, actually- the original script called for Samantha to say, "I'm pregnant." DARRIN: "You're what?" SAM: "I'm gonna have a baby!" Her lips still say "I'm pregnant" but are overdubbed with the first "I'm gonna have a baby." Funny, since they say the word "pregnant" at least three times a few episodes later in "Take Two Aspirins."
