Looks its a bit easier to play sagat and win if your new to the game. And its not hard to do any combos with him. Plus he really has no bad match ups. Picking a Character that isnt shoto is were i think it takes alot more practice. Dont hate on me its just my opinion and i think alot of ppl will agree that he is just a bit to much. Including Ryu.

It's very difficult to perform the tiger knee loop consistently, which pretty much encompasses Sagats entire close up game. It's essentially if you actually want to play him to his full potential. Yeah he's got some powerful easy to do shit, but if you want to talk about high tier easy mode characters look at: Rufus, Balrog, Ryu (medium difficulty, but still easy), and Zangeif.

In the end no one is easy to play at the highest level, though and SF4 is balanced you can't complain.

Capcom is hardly the authority on what's over powered and what's not. They may have created the game, but they have no idea about the performance of each character when pushed to their full potential. Plus, I never said he wasn't over powered, just that most characters can compete against him because the game is very balanced.

Oh yeah! I feel I am most successful with Rose because of the fact that not too many people on psn know that match-up that well because not many people use her. However, I play against Sagat/Ken/Ryu/Akuma 100s of times in one sitting...lol.

In a game without sidesteps, air defense, and worrying about stamina. Those who control the air and land with ease are the TOP TIERS and Sagat is one of them. BTW EVERYONR Knows Sagat has been given too much. But WHY did Capcom give him an OVERHEAD TOO!? With FIERCE of all things!!!???

and all sagat users aren't scrubs, there are dusins of good sag players who knows what their doing. using random moves on sagat is just like using random moves on ryu. there was a guy who used shoryuken and hadouken on me every fucking second. and a sagat who used tiger uppercut and tiger shots, yet i still won. it isn't the characters that are the problems, it is the players against. dont be mad because you aren't good enough to beat a sag. its just a fucking game.

Man Sagat is beastly.

I had the some games vs a excellent Sagat player last night. Those cr LK, Tiger knee pokes and mixups hurt. Also if Rose does gain control it's a long slow haul to gain a led and keep it.

I have no trouble against alot of intermediate Sagats. But in the right hands and once they know how to shut down Rose's slide and poke game, you then have to rely on playing unpredictably and baiting Uppercuts.

This was PSN. Anyway I don't get your Sagat hate. Yeah, some times I threw out TU's. It was a risk. Sometimes it paid off sometimes it didn't. I don't see you chastising Saqs for throwing out random ultras. It's the same concept. Sometimes it pays off sometimes it doesn't.

Allow me to drop some knowledge on you. Gouki has better pokes then Sagat, better links, better hit confirms, better mix-ups, better up close game and they are equal at zoning. If Sagat tries to rush Gouki down, he can just teleport away and Gouki has combos in this game that ONLY work on Sagat and do huge damage. The only thing Gat has over Gouki is health and ways to combo into Ultra and that's not enough for Gat to have advantage.

not to mention sagat is tall and eats the akuma vortex HARD. yea emblemlord is right, akuma can mix up sagat so hard, sagat has like 4 options on wake up and if he guesses the right 1 he escapes, doesn't do damage just escapes...where a wrong guess takes damage and sets it alll up again. plus he loses the fireball war. but yea akuma's mix ups are BRUTAL!

I think emblemlord can own you. His zoning with Sagat is high quality and him dropping knowledge on you about Akuma just owned you. Saying that he is a scrub makes you one since if you analyze his play ability and you say its scrubbish, it's not. I think you should play him tou prove he's one if he IS one.

Well, Saqs doing random Ultras goes back to what I said before. Sometimes you gotta just take a risk be it with a random TU from Sagat or random Ultra with Rose. You might get rocked for it but the pay off can be huge. Just gotta try to be smart about it.

honestly I'm surprised I don't see more random ultras in high-end play. there's a lot of 'decent' opportunities to throw them out in losing matches where your opponent wouldn't expect them and their priorities can be really useful. like if it's 30 v 80% health, your odds of winning against a good player are near nul and smart randomness can be useful there :P

well i think the reason you dont see top players throw random ultra is because top players dont like to guess...no matter how good a read on your opponent, guessing might not work and could lead to taking big damage plus not having an ultra for later. top players prefer to react.  reacting works 100% so long as you execute correctly. top players try to do the most damage while taking the least themselves, and throwing random ultra is always a gamble, and why gamble when you can guarantee

lol. You gotta realize that every match is a chance to mess around and try to improve. Had this been tourney or a MM do you think I woulda did all those wake-up TU's? No, I would not. This was a chance to mess around and test the waters. And on wake-up it's just a guess as to what the other guy will do. So sometimes you TU, sometimes you block, sometimes you backdash. It's all just a guess.  Also learn to link? lol. Did you miss all the links I was doing?

A problem of rose(or your rose) is that she can't combo jabs into something good. I see you jabbing so often and then you do nothing than a throw attempt, that usually should not work against a decent opponent.

The FA's are to bait slides since Sagat can't really do much else to shut that down other then maybe slow low shots. I got hit with alot of spirals after block strings. I'm thinking I should have TUed instead. Glad to see my pressure was solid though.

You should use crouching strong instead of short as a meaty. It's better for frame trapping as long as you can pull out jab short TU consistently.

The short recovers extremely fast. Fast enough that I can throw it out and block anything Rose does on wake-up. It's meant to make her afraid to do anything because if it hits I can combo. This will make her more predictable on wake-up and easier to read. Try to watch closely to what Saqs does on wake-up to see what I mean.

Be eat nub ryus and akumas who spam fireballs till you get close for a srk and then resume spamming or be zangief who all they do is spam lariat when you are down.

well...improper spamming shows lack of skill...but trust me, if you were fighting say diago or especially john choi, if your in the sweet spot for fireballs, they are gonna spam away on you until the cows come home. if the situation calls for spamming, top players are gonna spam...its doing those moves in a situation that can and will get you punished that shows lack of skill. if you know the mechanics of the game, you should be able to beat these people easily and not complain about them.
