  • the littlest hobo was great yes I know it would take us away from our times London was funny I remember my whole family stopping everything to watch The Littlest Hobo

  • That dog can whail..

  • I loved this show.

    That dog is beautiful.

  • Wow Lost Memories

  • i love the littlest hobo I Love YOU LONDON the littlest hobo lives in our hearts wish there was a fan club love to join it.

  • this dog is cleverer than my two kids, can it make coffee?

  • @lympia3 yep, how do you have it?

  • I grew up in Tulsa Ok and my mom was a friend of Charles, aka 'Chuck'. I was always so excited when he came to visit, because there were always 3 or 4 German Shephards in the back of his big 1970's station wagon, and I got to run around my back yard playing with them. I'm so sad to hear that he has passed. :-(

  • You picked the perfect song :) I grew up wtih this show.

  • sir how can we start the littlest hobo fan club London lives in our heart one of my favourite episodes is pide piper

  • 0:25 seconds the police car says "Toronto"

The Littlest Hobo - Canada's Greatest Creation.

  • the littlest hobos spirit can still make good things happin.

  • I googled Charles Eisenmann and I found out that he died September 16 2010 at 91 years old, my condolences to his friends and family. I also read that he said in a 1995 interview that he only had one dog left and I'm sure by now that dog has passed away, so I hope the decedents of London and the other dogs are still around. I think they were all German Shepherds. What I would appreciate knowing is how the dogs were taught such complex commands and extensive vocabularies.

  • @SilverWolfM200LDH he has written books on his techniques for about 4 decades. his "pack" was amazing, they knew also french and english, but the most amazing thing from the many news stories I've been lucky enough to find, is the proof that his "kids" recognized human speech as opposed to "key" words. And the fact he used "requests" instead of "commands"... in one case a woman was walking into a room as the boys were walking out, and they stepped to the side and let her walk in .. w/o a command

  • @Nautypaw Thank you for the information, you are so lucky to have found those articles. I think it is incredible that the dogs understood French and that they recognized human speech. It also seemed to me that the dogs could think for themselves, because in an episode I saw today, London recognized that a man needed rescuing so he dragged the envelope from the balloon he was in to signal the helicopter in to where they were, and he got the man's pills when he asked.

  • @Nautypaw I always thought if Mr. Eisenmann was actually in trouble that one of his dogs would be integument enough to get him help or actually save his life like in the show. Thanks again for your comment. Where did you find the articles?

  • @SilverWolfM200LDH mm youtube seems to be jealous of links to other places lol, private message sent with a link

  • cute dog and the colors of his fur make him look like sol from warriors

  • i dont know why, but this fuckin rules!

  • The dog is NOT a German Shepard its a Shilou Shepard not much of a difference, mixed with malamute...

  • @n1c0kd From the 'what is a shiloh shepherd' on the breed founders site is: "I'm proud of the fact that most of the Shilohs can trace their heritage back to some of London's ancestors!" So it's the other way around. :p

  • my mom likes this show lol nooby mom

  • wasn't he also part Husky???

  • London was a German Shepherd dog, not a husky. He was trained by famous GSD trainer Chuck Eisenmann.

  • a CHUCHIIIIIIIIII!

  • Run doggie

  • Great dog, I think it's a Siberian Husky. He likes my dog and I have a husky dog

  • I'm fairly certain the original London was a GSD. German Shepherds can have many colors and markings that are not as well known as the breed-standard's typical colors/markings. There's nothing very husky-like about his anatomy. :)

  • This appears to be one of the orginal Shilioh Shepherds, see web for info or check AKC page. Awesome dogs.

  • Agreed!! If I knew about this breed I'd have gotten it. We've got a Belgium Shepherd, talk about JACK!

  • *It lol XD

  • Nice vid :)

What kind of dog is it? I looks like a German Sheaperd but with husky markings.

  • Nice video, could this be the new Hobo?

Great to see stuff like this............

  • Please watch my new video. It is the first episode of a series about my dog Emma that I was inspired to make by The Littlest Hobo.

  • DARTH VEDDER

    EDDIE VADER

  • YOOO PEOPLE ITS EDDIE VEDDER not VADER

  • memories!!

  • there were actually 5 Londons not just one on the 80s tv show

  • so good. he was such a good dog. This always brings a tear to my eye.

  • What a awesome fur.. :3

  • whats the song?

  • London......New Zealand loves you!!!!!....and thanks to the great USA, im getting the DVDs!!!!!! and they were really cheap!!!

  • To the great USA? This show is Canadian Though.

  • Yes the show is Canadian and I thik it was shot in Vancouver if I am not mistaken.

  • man..... what a champ

  • Canada's Lassy!

  • im sad this isnt out on dvd... I can only see it on ctv 7:30 am saturdays... The old one is on dvd... but doesn't have the place this version has in my heart... Oh canadiana tv... Danger Bay sucked.

  • it is on dvd now

  • Thank's for your wisdom i was only only young and full of wonder at the time Thanks for your enligtenment

  • That is one clever dog.....how did they get him to act like that....

  • Eisenmann taught his dogs huge vocabularies and they could understand complex sentences.

Rather than, "Pick it up, sit." his dogs could comprehend, "Pick it up, come over there, now stop, go to the woman on your left, give it to her, go back to the car." etc.

Which made London and his other dogs fantastic actors:)

  • Thanks i arppreciate your wisdom. I was only young when watching these programs enlightment is a wonderfull thing "NIDGYBABY"

  • @ReelDogs and you might want to add they also understand german and french ^^

  • London and all of his relatives and decedents playing the Littlest Hobo were purebred German Shepherds trained by Charles P. Eisenmann.

  • It was a German Shepherds in the B&W series from the 60'. This vidéo is from the 80' serie and this dog is obviously not a German Shepherds. It's more like malmute or husky mix.

  • The dog in this video is a purebred German shepherd dog. Please contact the owner, Charles P. Eisenmann, if you would like to discuss it with him. You can reach him through his site. Just Google his name. It's the first one that comes up.

  • Charles Eisenmann died a while ago...

  • @ReelDogs Its a malamute(possibly with some GSD in him), even a layperson can tell its not a pure GSD, IMNd or who ever you heard this from are ill informed.

  • @lalapubpub

i've seen german shepherds with this colouring, it's just not bred very often because most kennel clubs require a black mask and dislike reverse masking.

  • @rustedrainbow this would explain a lot of thing ! kennel clubs as weird, just look what append to GSD for "beauty" they "made" hill with the "duck walk" They just look hill GSD "for working" looks and are far more healthy, as they are "tools" you don't want your tool died or be paraplegic at the age of 5 (be a tool is not incompatible with love, most of these dog are in "mutual love" with there owners)

  • @lalapubpub well i think i get what you mean,it just depends what you want the dog for. Look at border collies, a working collie looks vastly different to one bred for showing. Most of the breed standard is there to ensure the breed isn't eventually diluted so much that it is lost, but as we know a lot of regulations lead to poorer health, and some are just plain stupid...like white GSDs! They're beautiful, but not accepted to show.

  • @ReelDogs This is true, he was my Great Uncle, he passed September 2010. He is missed! His method of training I've picked up with my Rottweiler...

  • He looks like an Elkhound

  • love it !! what kinda dob is lil hobo.. german shepard husky cross ?

  • i've been waiting for this to be posted, cause' i listen to youtube at work at night. thanks. awesome song.

  • Littlest Hobo > Lassie

  • Great song!

  • A beauty !!!
