This is the original version :) and wow what a great performance. So anyone who is saying blah blah this new band from the 90's 200's 2010 did this song better than she did and therefore this is bad is missing the fact that she wrote this and she and the band (group) were the first to do this kind of thing way back in 1975. This is as original and good as it gets. Thanks Patti and Patti Smith Group, you are fantastic musicians and human beings. Thanks for posting this is magical. :) <3

I have nothing against Chrissie Hynde whatsoever and I was fortunate enough to see the original Pretenders live in 1980 and 81, but there would be no Chrissie Hynde were it not for Patti. Patti blazed that trail. If you simply prefer Chrissie Hynde, that's your prerogative, but personally I find comparing apples to oranges an exercise in futility. I love early Pretenders. I love Patti more though simply because there's more there in terms of overall importance and trailblazing.
