  • u and ur dumb wristband.. and ur accent

  • @TheRealDubshooter

Why don't you go and annoy someone else you illiterate little moron ;-)

  • @ultimatehandyman ohhh calm down that wasnt even me! haha i found ur tut very useful

  • I have read on multiple websites that putting computer parts back on the anti-static bag can shock the parts.

  • I have read on multiple websites that you should not put computer parts back on the anti static bags cause it can potentially shock and damage your parts.

  • IF YOU WANT TO BUILD A GOOD PC, DO THIS

    1. Buy Intel Core i7

    2. Buy Ge Force GTX 590

    3. Buy 2 TB Hard Drive

    4. Buy 12 GB RAM

    5. Buy Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

    OR

    Simple buy Alienware

  • Dont put the MoBo on the wrapper. It can break your board.

  • @TheUsusalChoice

A few people have said that putting the motherboard down on the bag can damage it with static.

So far all I have is a few comments but no proof. Sometimes people believe things without them actually being true. Like you should urinate on a jellyfish sting etc.

If someone can actually provide conclusive proof that putting the motherboard down on the anti-static bag can damage it, then I will start to believe it.

  • should i buy components or buy a done built pc

  • @ilyas121233

    It depends what you want.

You do not save much by doing it yourself but at least you can decide what software to install!

  • 3 people don't have a kindergarten degree. ;)

  • I'm only going to be nstalling one HDD in my build, would I still need to go into the BIOS?

  • Great Video! I'm wondering, if you bought a similar pre-built computer from a store, would it be more expensive? If so, how much more? Did you save alot? :P

  • @ninjax115

You hardly save anything as the parts have to be bought from a retailer. The people who sell pre built computers can buy their parts at wholesale prices. But when you build it yourself you can choose which software is installed and you also learn how to build one, which is also useful!

  • do i get scrues from the mother board package?

  • @ChosenFact

I think the screws came with the case

  • Comment removed

  • i dont have same components will it be hard to me to follow your guide

  • @ChosenFact

It should be simple as computers are very similar and all parts are modular so it's just a case of puting it all together.

  • ______

  • Na, just have good listening skills, make sure you pay attention and watch every detail of information, read your manuals (MoBo)

  • is this hard for noobs

  • @ilyas121233

Not really difficult. Just take your time with it and enjoy the build

  • @MegaMuphnMan I know what it is...It's a graphic card! I was stating I didn't know where to put it in the MoBo...

  • Like how you where detailed, Finally a video were it says where the GPU is...I mean everyone video either was not detailed enough or they were fast forwarding!

  • @annoymous123ify

    Thanks for the comment ;-)

  • @annoymous123ify XD I don't think you should be building a computer if you don't know what a GPU is! :D

  • so whats the compete items/components list because i would like to build one but i dont want to gett everything then have it not work for missing something

  • @neeson13

Coolermaster HAF 922 case, GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R Motherboard, Intel core I7 920 processor ,Reaper OCZ HPC DDR3 Ram, Stealth extreme PSU, MSI 1gb Graphics card, 2* 1TB western digital hard drives, Windows 7 DVD burner

  • hello i have overclocked my alienware but i think ive put the cpu voltage to high.

now my comp wont boot it just loads with the fans blasting.

pc monitor says no signal can u help

  • I HATE Non-Modular PSU they make the inside of your case look soooo messy!

  • Just letting you know that puttin your motherboard on the anti static bag can be harmful. :) I guess you were lucky and it didnt do anything, but the outside of that bag is indeed conductive.

  • @JavIin

Thanks, and thanks to the other people that have pointed this out before.

I'm still waiting for conclusive proof that the motherboard can be damaged by placing it on the outside of the bag.

  • what would happen if you put in a hard drive that already had an OS?

  • @worthlessdiamond

It depends what system it came out of and which OS it is.

In some cases it will boot, but will require drivers to work properly

  • @ultimatehandyman its windows XP proffessional, it came out of a HP compaq dc small form.

  • @worthlessdiamond

Just try it, if it does not work you can always format it and put a new operating system on it.

  • is this difficult because i want a pc but i dont wanna spend so much is it worth saving a few hundred BTW im doing this for the first time and i have some idea of what i have to do

  • @bananakiller21

It's not difficult but if you are on a limited budget it is often better to pick up a bargain PC ready built as you do not save much by building it yourself.

  • like ur scissors!

  • this is cool. how much did it cost you to do this?

  • @xBlue741

It was £1200 in December 2009

  • great work, im doin' this later today =)

  • @Qixxen

Thanks, Good luck with your build ;-)

  • How do you know which power supply to use?

  • @OpenMindedCynic

Add together the wattage of all components in your system and then get a larger wattage PSU, never try using a smaller one or it will not last long and cause major problems.

  • @ultimatehandman

was the ram you used DDR3? If it was then DDR3 ram is compatible with DDR5 graphics cards because that is what you used.

  • @Silverbrick27

    Yes it was DDR3

    Thanks for the confirmation

  • I love your videos though should I may add

  • @MrCarsandstuff

    Thanks ;-)

  • Great scissors so pink and flowery mmmm......

  • @MrCarsandstuff

LOL, I'm just glad nobody has caught me using the girlfriends pink screwdrivers yet ;-)

  • do DDR3 RAM supports DDR5 graphic cards

  • @faraaz084

No idea sorry, you would have to Google it and see

  • sorry if i missed it in the video, but the red cable at 21:11 going into a sata connecter, what is that connected too?

  • @staticslipk5

It was a while since making this video, but if I remember rightly it was the SATA connector for the external SATA ports on the front of the computer

  • coll tanks

  • Its sometimes best to put the graphics card in last so that you have more room while plugging in wires but both ways work, nice video man and nice build :D

  • @GamingLogics

    Thanks for the comment

  • @ultimatehandyman Any time man, really liking the videos.

  • @ultimatehandyman i hope somebody told you this but you shouldn't put your motherboard on the anti static bag you should put it on the box.

  • @poop101205

I have had plenty of comments about this, but as of yet nobody has proved that it is harmful to the motherboard. If someone can prove that it is harmful I would then start to believe it ;-)

  • Excellent video! Helped a lot!

  • @2wirelink

    Thanks for the comment ;-)

  • What kind of video camera are you using to record this video ?

    Ready clear picture.

    Thanks

  • @kdlc56

    It's a panasonic hdc-sd10

I was that impressed with the quality of it that I now have 3 of them.

If you keep an eye out on ebay sometimes you can get them for a bargain price ;-)

    Thanks for the comment

  • cheers m8 great help

  • @IMPACTzXi

    You are welcome.

    Thanks for the comment

  • Manly pink scissors

  • thank you sooo much.. it helped me a lot .it's my first time buliding my own gaming pc

  • @manulsinghe

    You are welcome.

    Thanks for the comment ;-)

  • My motherboard died and I'm about to upgrade it with an i7 but I plan to keep my diskdrive. Would I need to go into the bios and configure it after installing the new mobo or can I just reinstall W7 afterwards? The mobo that died is a p5nsli from Asus.

  • @MrLightweight45

Unless you are setting up a raid configuration you might not need to go into the BIOS, just try it and see ;-)

I have put hard drives from an old machine into a new machine in the past. You will have to re-install some drivers though etc.

  • How much did it all cost?

  • @Vman99100

    £1200 in December 2009

  • @ultimatehandyman i have a question wich case do you use and how do i now wich power supply i need????

  • @MikeVanDalen1996

    Coolermaster HAF 922

You add up the wattage of all the components in your system, then get a slightly larger wattage power supply, never a smaller wattage one!

  • @ultimatehandyman thanks you really helped me

  • Hi again sorry for all the question. Do i have to buy a wireless dogle seperatly to connect to my wifi? Thanks

  • @daniel9324

You can use a wireless dongle or you can get PCI cards

  • How much did that cost you?

  • Comment removed

  • @theintunity

    £1200 in December 2009

  • @ultimatehandyman Ok. thanks

  • Hi can you please tell me what your job is called, i want a job involving computers but i dont know what its called. Thanks

  • @daniel9324

I do not work on computers for a living. But you could try a computer repair man/computer builder

  • i just put all the cables in their places. plugged the power in the back of the computer. i pressed the switch and the led's started working and so did the fans but it shut down like a second after i pressed it.

  • @DeceasedHerobrine

    Try checking all connections.

If that does not work try removing the GPU and try again.

  • i dont know how to install the fans. and i also have a wire called AC 97 whats that?

  • @DeceasedHerobrine

It should say in your manual

  • @DeceasedHerobrine AC 97 sounds like the audio system. Look on RealTek site. You can find the RealTek AC 97 software download there as well. I installed the download from their site and it failed after a day or so. I then went to CNET and downloaded the file and its been working great for a month now. Hope this helps.

  • how do you install motherboard and graphics card drivers?

  • @daniel9324

After installing the operating system just run the disk that comes with the motherboard and graphics card

  • little expensive mr handyman

  • @GEORGARASDX7

    Well worth it though ;-)

It saves me hours when editing HD video etc

  • U the man! I'm so gonna do a build myself pretty soon ...

  • @DAYSINTHEBIGAPPLE

    Thanks and good luck ;-)

  • How much did everything cost?

  • @leomejiacmdservices

    Approx £1200 in December 2009

  • @domeee11

Coloured screws are normally anodised, so they are still conductive

  • @ultimatehandyman lol sorry for asking too much on this problem, can i just clip it to my table (below the table. there is unpainted steel, but the table is on carpeted floor) ?

  • hold on, did you instal windows 7 before you booted up or after?

  • @gta4ishardcore

Well I had to change things in the BIOS first so I did that on the first boot ;-)

  • @ultimatehandyman one more question, i am building my own budget gaming rig, i know it sounds really stupid but.. i spent all of my money on computer parts and went 19p over budget, is there any alternative to buying a a ESD wristband?

  • @gta4ishardcore

You might be able to borrow one ;-)

  • @ultimatehandyman what about if i touch the case before i touch anything?

  • @gta4ishardcore ,make one all you need is a piece of wire some tape and an alligator clamp

  • @ultimatehandyman even if a colored screw? Like a gold or black screws for example.. So first thing I do is install my PSU, screw it to the case, plug it into the wall socket, while keeping the switch off and clip my aligator clip to any screw in the case, I build the rig?

  • @domeee11

    Yes

  • can i swap my graphics card. i have an integrated ati radeon 6410hd on an asus board

  • @l4dxpert1

If you have a spare slot you should be able to install a graphics card and disable the integrated graphics in the BIOS

  • Hey man this is my first comment on this video, please respond:)

, where should i clip the aligator side of the anti static wrist band?Im about to build a PC with CM Storm Enforcer case (which is all black painted) please help me out! thanks

  • @domeee11

You need to connect the crocodile clip tp the metal casing of the computer case (somewhere with no paint) But the PSU needs to be fitted and the computer needs plugging into the electricity supply (but with the socket switched off) so that the earth has a good connection ;-)

  • @ultimatehandyman but im planning to use Cooler master storm enforcer, which as far as i can tell from somebody's review, i can not see unpainted part! what should i do here lol

  • @domeee11

There should be plenty of unpainted parts on the inside of the case, just clip it to a screw ;-)

  • Hi, do you always have to go to BIOS and change all this settings or can you just put Windows Installation disc and install Windows.

  • @999kostuch

If you are not doing Raid 0 you should just be able to install operating system

  • @ultimatehandyman Thanks, I just build my own PC, so the only thing left is Windows :)

  • @999kostuch

    You are welcome.

    Thanks for the comments

  • @ultimatehandyman Hey great video and I have a question. My graphics card has died well I think it is the graphics card. Anyways I am going to be buying a nvidia geforce gtx 590 and was wondering if I shouldnt install it myself? The graphics card that just died was a nvidia geforce gtx 275. So would it be the same setup and same cords and all that? So yeah should i do it myself or pay for someone else to do it. Thank you!

  • @MapleSyrupWaffles

I'm no expert on graphics cards, but as long as they have the same connections it should just be a case of swapping them and then install the drivers.

  • @ultimatehandyman Thanks and one more thing. To swap a graphics card would I need one of those bands that are around your wrist. I cant remember what they are called.

  • @MapleSyrupWaffles You dont need an anti-static wrist strap. Just touching the Metal part of the case every few minutes works

  • @redruney Thanks so much so if I just touch the case nothing will break?

  • Comment removed

  • @MapleSyrupWaffles Yeah. If you touch a METAL part of the case every 5-10 minutes your should be fine.

  • how much did it cost altogether?

  • @elupura1

It was approximately £1200 in December 2009

  • My computer is definitely out of date and I'm wanting to upgrade it to a new motherboard in order to support an i7. Would I need to get a new computer case? The one I have now houses a P5NSLI LGA775 Asus motherboard and i'm not sure if the newer motherboards would fit.

  • @itsyaboiren

I just did a quick Google for your motherboard and it is ATX, so if you make sure your new motherboard is ATX it should fit

  • it wont hurt my motherboard if i sit it on a wood table and install the cpu and cooler will it?

  • do you need a CPU fan?

  • @straatman12345

Yes, it is attached to the heat sink.

  • Just wanna say thank you.... You spurred me on to build my very first computer... I'm a chick by the way.... I got a great case, Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 Intel i7 SLI motherboard, i7 quad core processor, 16gb ram, 5 terabyte storage, samsung blue ray burner, Palit GForce 2 GB Graphics card.... Its going to kick some serious arse.....

  • @openmindedozzie

    Brilliant ;-)

    Thanks for the comment

  • you must put the gpu in the first slot so u can run it at 16

  • Yes neb, I watched a video...

  • @ultimatehandyman

Is this a good for gaming

    Intel core i5 2500k

    Asus p8p67-m

    Corsair vengeance 8gb ddr3

    XFX HD 6950 qgb ddr5

    Corsair 700w power supply

    1 TB Seagate hard disk

    NZXT Phantom case

  • @joker121joker

No Idea, I don't play games sorry!

  • @joker121joker yeah thats actually pretty good if i may say :)

  • @joker121joker yh get a nvidia gt250 or higher

  • @joker121joker yes it is REALLY GOOD for gaming

  • @joker121joker Yes its nice for gaming

  • @joker121joker Yes that's good for games.

  • @joker121joker that very good actually

  • @ultimatehandyman At last someone who is in Uk can you tell me where did you get your parts from

  • @jayeshgamare1999boy

I bought them from a firm that does not sell to the public (sorry can't remember name) I have bought components from scan.co.uk and advancetec.co.uk in the past though and they are keenly priced.

  • @jayeshgamare1999boy Just buy from overclockers . co . uk

    :D

  • handy video.. :)

  • @mineman111

The hard drives are Western Digital

The DVD re-writer is a Samsung speedplus

  • great video where did you buy all this from

  • Nice video :D

  • @mineman111

    £1200 in December 2009

  • @ultimatehandyman Very handy video. Thanks for making it!I have the same case, but I dont know how to make the system look cleaner by hiding the cables behind.Could you possibly do a video on it?

    thanks!

  • @coldvein01

Sorry, I don't have time to do a video on this. I don't normally bother with cable management as my computer is out of view!

  • good ol ep45ud3p still got one running today q9400 oced to 3.2 since the day i got it

  • nice video and good tutorial you just earned an other subscriber

  • @T0M88xXx1

    Thank you ;-)

  • 16:40 - Nice pink scissors lol

  • One thing I would change though, is that you should install the GFX card in the top PCIe 16x slot, not the second one as you did. Different motherboards with different chipsets will have different PCIe speeds on the slots but the top one in nearly all configurations is the fastest (and thus getting the maximum performance from your gpu) PCIe slot and is advisable to use.

  • @3Z3K13L08

Thanks, Next time I'll be sure to use that slot.

    Thanks for the comments

  • @ultimatehandyman You're welcome! I've learnt so much from your great videos so it's the least I can do to pass on some info. When it comes to computers, I know all so much, but when it comes to power tools and fixing things, I come to your channel! Keep up the excellent work, much appreciated.

  • @3Z3K13L08

Good stuff, thanks again for the comments ;-)

  • A great, informative video for anyone beginning to build a computer for the first time. I have a friend that is planning to build his first, I'll send him a link to this video. I've build and worked on countless rigs and I can say from experience this is a very good video, you did everything correctly and showed all the steps. Nice work!

  • @TheJohn10992

It was approximately £1200 in December 2009

  • question, why does every1 use intel? i never see anybody use an AMD process for videos :P would like to know why :/

  • @GamingForLife96

I have owned Intel and AMD computers and I always had problems with the AMD for some reason. The blue screen of death used to be a regular occurrence

  • i got a HAF case to :P
