I love theese shows but I must say not a great fan of jr in this one, but ted dibiase was great
I thought the McMahons needed a mention and the hennig for that matter but a great show none the less....but let's face it when people think wrestling families, they always think the harts!!!
really enjoy seeing these interviews, I grew up seeing the wrestling part (and partly believing it was true), nice to hear the stories behind all of the incidents happening, great and sad time to be a fan, but i love it.
@sayanroy36 i never really thought about that but ya - some guys just cant let it go - like hogan etc - always in character, its kinda creepy when it alters your life like that
@EnforcerX71 true. but i meant, the voice and the unnecessary quips while he was telling a story. its like bret telling something, & all of a sudden putting his shades on and saying "im the best there is..."
@theGting You can hardley put them in the same category as The Von Erich's, Hart's etc. Lawler was a Memphis Legend but his son was just part of a joke tag team, hardly a family Dynasty
I know they mention the Maivia's but what their cousins the Fatu's(Solofa aka Rikishi, Eddie, Chris Fatu......and Solofa's sons the Uso brothers that are paired up with Tamina Snuka)
I know Randy Orton is not the type of wrestler who enjoys the teacher role, but he's done a great job bringing Cody along. Orton still has some work to do bring Ted Dibiase Jr along. Ted Dibiase Jr still needs a lot of work, but Orton has done a hell of a job with Cody. Ted Dibiase Jr still needs a lot of work.
Sad Legends of Wrestling Roundtable if you think about it, because a lot of second generation stars had trouble carving out their own footprints after their fathers had made it in wrestling.
It is kinda funny how they talk about how hard the territories as being so hard in terms of travel. I know in Stampede (Canada) they traveled far distances and through the middle of nowhere but other territories didn't even extend past a state. In the WWE they travel from state to state and country to country even if it is largely by plane.
@BURNINGHAMMER76 WWE performers today don't know how good they have it to travel by plane, even if it isn't always comfortable for everybody.Of course,it's only the main eventers and executives who fly first class.
So they mention Animal and his son, but no mention of Animal's brother Johnny Ace. Uh, he is an exec with the company, fellas. He was also pretty damn good.
@MantonioBanderas or Animal's other brother, Marc, who debuted as The Terminator in 1987, and wrestled in WCW as one half of The Wrecking Crew in 1993.
@gqunit69 The name doesn't always matter so much as the talent themselves.Considering the tag team division was weak at the time,I'm surprised they didn't get over to some extent.
I know he gets alot of heat, but I agree w/the panel. Randy Orton is great and has exceeded the total body of work of both his grandfather and his Dad
@letslipthedogs Randy Orton was also the beneficiary of coming along in the era of guaranteed contracts and a more corporate WWF/E but he had all the attributes on his own,of course.
@Gambit455 y man i knowed that for years that piece of shit good wrestler for nothing otunga shouldnt even be on the WWE don't know whats wrong with them making those unbelievable stupid choices
@Gambit455 but with todays fan i dont think anyone in the crowd would know who Curt Hennig is :( and would Joe be like the Greg gagne trying to fill the legacy of his family and not being able to fill the shoes of great talents
@xrikkitikkix I think Mick Foley said in one of his books that he could always tell what part of the country someone was from by there favorite wrestlers. If you liked Bruno Samartino, you were from New York. If you like Jerry Lawler, you were from Tennesee. You were from Texas if you were a Von Erich fan & you definitly lived in Minnesota if you were a Gagne fan.
@xrikkitikkix I disagree about Greg. I thought he was okay. Not on the same level as Curt Hennig, but he good have a decent match. Maybe the reason my opinion is different than yours is because I'm from Minnesota & grew up watching the AWA.
I think I prefer JR as host on the roundtable. He seems to just let it flow more and open the debate up to anyone rather than picking specific people to answer the questions. Sometimes seems like gene cuts people off as they are about to tell a follow up story aswell. Still a great watch though
@psychosissafari , I like the Legends roundtable , I hope they put it on the new WWE Network that is coming out sometime next year. They should all so put more out on DVD, i have one collection all ready.
@psychosissafari I kind of agree, but at the same time, some of the other ones are marred when Michael Hayes tells a 20 minute story and the other dudes are just like :I, I think there's good and bad things about the show being more organized.
I love these roundtables but I hate how they put so much emphasis on the families whose children are working for WWE TODAY, instead of giving the viewers a more historical retrospective.
Husky Harris lasted about 9 months (if that) on WWE TV and is now back in developmental. Why they spent so much time putting him over is beyond me.
@TheAussieraver None of which were stars in the AWA? Hogan, their biggest star, was never booked like a star because of Verne Gagne's fetish with Nick Bockwinkel. I don't think I need to tell you what happened when Hogan went to work for McMahon.
