If support had been available for me, if my friend didn't laugh and ignore me when i reached out for help or if i could have gone into a shelter or been able to even consider pressing charges and being taken seriously, I would have been able to get away sooner with less damage done to my psyche. It really makes me sad that people generally don't acknowledge abuse towards men, abuse is horrible no matter what the gender of the abused is. Recent studies have shown that the rate of women abusing men have risen dramatically in the past decade or so, but numbers can be argued with. Whats more important is for people to realize that no matter what the frequency is of abuse per gender, help and support needs to be available for both genders. There is only 1 shelter in the U.S. that (1/2)
Why was it all about domestic violence towards women?
It happens to men to you know. I know you don't really mean anything by it, but I don't like how violence towards women is treat far more seriously than violence towards men.
I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts about this topic, when I was like 5 my dad used to always hit my mom. I remember once he almost tired stabbing her right in front of me. My dad isn't like that anymore thank good, but for ever I will always remember those terrible thoughts. That's one reason I'm on meds now.

I've been through this. Most abusers are narcissist. They will lie about the abuse and often their friends refuse to believe that they are capable of physical violence.
It's awesome that you speak about serious things as well as fun things! You're so well spoken about every topic ^^ I'm so sorry for people who these things happen to.. I'm so glad that my boyfriend loves me (the right way!), no matter how angry he might be - even under the influence of alcohol! So it must be really awful being hurt by the one you love the most.. and at the same time feeling like you can't tell everyone, because you want people to think you're happy.. YOU DESERVE MORE THAN THIS!!

This is amazing. I once had to stay at a domestic abuse shelter with my mom. It is definately terrible and embarrassing but it helps to express it.
