@ATLscotsman I was actually an extra in this commercial. IDK what you consider a "good hit" but theres no strings or wired on him.. They ran this play about 30 times and the kid got F*CKED every time lol... i mean he made the big bucks but how many times can u get knocked in the air like that lol
fine, call me names, whatever. Meanwhile, show me any video or source that teaches a player to duck with his head down, eyes on the ground, and tuck his arms in when making the hit. If the "running back" here actually ran low to the ground behind his pads and not straight up as portrayed in the clip, that kid get would get trucked because he wasn't looking at what he was hitting.
@ATLscotsman. Ur wrong. that was actually a good tackle. u must have NEVER played organized football. I played defensive back for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Ever heard the term "lowest man wins"? The way u are talking, it seems like u would tackle him high and in all likelyhood get trucked and in the process getting yourself hurt.
Pause it at about 0:10. That tackle is piss-poor technique and will get a player hurt. In real life, the kid making the hit probably separates his shoulder, and because he ducked his head he is asking for a serious neck or head injury. I know it's just a commercial, but I think it's irresponsible for Nike to glorify the "big hit" like this and I hope Saban is disgusted at the hit that is portrayed in the commercial.

Does anyone else notice Saban doesn't say Boom? Back it up and watch. He sounds like he's saying "Bagoo--"

BTW Steve Spurrier said this after SC's game with Auburn regarding QB Stephen Garcia's habit of running with his head down:
“He could seriously hurt himself with that,” Spurrier said. “We’re always told to see what you hit. Keep your head up.”
