NO, NO, NO. Although you're right in saying that since it's 1985, the WTC can't have been attacked, Watchmen IS in another reality. For example, Richard Nixon in the movie has been re-elected for a 3rd time after changing the US constitution. Historic events in Watchmen are totally incompatible with those in our reality.
to me the irony of the song and the funeral put together make this my favorite part of the film.
and for those who dont know the irony i'm speaking of - this song was made as a response to the jfk assasination, where as in the film we see that the comedian took the infamous shot that killed jfk. great stuff
@buckamoona no have you read the book? the book came out 29 years before avatar Dr Manhattan did not come from avatar and the movie was based on the book watchmen so you are completely wrong.
Did anybody else notice a scene of Rorschach on the streets without his mask, missing from the dvd? Because I remember it in the theater, but it doesn't appear to have made it onto the dvd, too bad.
chickafinch is right. There was at least one more scene with Rorschach on the street without his mask. I remember it very clearly as well, and it's not on my dvd neither.
I love this song, and I love this movie, and I love this song in this movie! :-) I particularly like the way that the lyrics sync up with Rorschach at 0:52...

And if they would make another Watchmen set in, say, 2011 (for example), the twins towers would likely be still standing.

What scene? This one is the only scene I remember of him without a mask, apart from the ones in jail.
tolkkiturilli 2 years ago
Just a scene on the street with his mask off and people walking by. My bf remembered it too.

chickafinch is right. There was at least one more scene with Rorschach on the street without his mask. I remember it very clearly as well, and it's not on my dvd neither.
kluitje 2 years ago
You are right. There is a director's and an ultimate cut in which these scenes are probably included.
jimmy1911 2 years ago
Well i think there's a few of him in the background, but this and the jail scenes are the only ones where he has a real part.
kaielron 2 years ago
@chickafinch There are different cuts of the movie, an unmasked Rorschach appears in the Director's Cut and the Ultimate Cut
