i went snorkling off the coast of florida and there was a jellyfish that looked similar to this but it was purple and its tentacles wraped around my leg but it didnt sting me i thought that they didnt have control over there tentacles and if you could tell me why this happened i would appriciate it thanks

some jellyfish have shorter tentacles. that was obviously a different jellyfish he or she caught on tape.
