"We're just using logic here." How about we use the Scriptures instead of man's reason which is fallen??? Election is one of the hardest doctrines to embrace, but it's Biblical. We aren't called to try to form a God we like, we are called to believe in the God of the Bible.

He began with, "let's use our brain", then he didn't use it! This man needs to repent of his pride, thinking that he had anything to do with his saving grace. God was merciful. I love how in trying to prove his point about what the Bible says and doesn't say, he uses the oft quote but never found in the Bible, "but for the grace of God, there go I." That ought to tell you something, shouldn't it? He tries to refute doctrine with a quote from a man, not God's Word. What about John 6:44, Ephesians 1, Romans 9? How does this Biblically ignorant pastor handle those passages of Scripture? Run as far and fast from this heretic as you can.

Eph. 1:4 -He chose us before the foundation of the world.
John 6:44 -No one can come unless the Father draws them.
Eph. 1:5 -He predestined us for adoption as sons.
The whole Old Testament - He chose Israel and not another nation.
Rom. 9:18 -He has mercy on whomever He wills.
Ex. 33:19 -He has mercy on whom He wills and compassion on whom He wills.
Eph. 1:13 -we are sealed with the Holy Spirit.
Eph. 4:30 -we are sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption.
Answer those, preacher.
