The whole controversy over false accusations is hard to put into perspective because failure to prosecute a rape doesn't make the accusation false any more than failure to report a rape means that rape hasn't occured. That means all statistics are bound to be skewed in both directions. No one knows the true prevalence of either one.

Nothing shows the lack of objectivity like the Duke lacrosse case. Tons of women flocked to the streets, calling for their blood. I never heard one of them come forward and apologize when the truth came out and the young men were cleared of any wrong doing. None of them apologized to the lacrosse coach who lost his job, sticking by his players.
