This is the most beautiful sedan ever. Absolutely stunning coachwork. Congrats to Aston for their forward vision from so many decades ago - Well done! The equivalent in a two door GT is the Weigert Vector. Man!, how I would love both of these rides in my stable!
This is an acquired taste but I think I'm lucky it is a taste I have! Saw my first one in 77 wanted one ever since! I will have one someday much better than my EVO 8 . The tiny steering wheel and the drive for the size and weight is mighty impressive so if you don't like it fine less competition when I go to buy mine !

It took a month to draw that? Looks like a giant stepped on it before they put the roof on, cars that 4th graders draw look better than that! New Astons are much better!
Aston Martin was always famous for building nice crap. Nice styling but they depreciate very quickly . Its the same with Maserati nice to look at, But I wouldn't what to own one. If you had the money Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes Benz much better buys and trust me you will be much happier.
Ferrari and Lamborghini had the legendary Italian car syndrome and spent most of their time getting fixed by their owners. In the 80's there was a joke that if you buy a Ferrari you bought the engine, and the rest you got free of charge. Ferrari used cheap Fiat parts in their interior, and Lamborghini has changed owners 7 times. If not for investors they'd gone out of business long ago.
Buy a Porsche for reliability. Mercedes is correct too.
An Aston Martin DB5 in top condition will not depreciate thank you very much. They are worth a lot.
As for Maserati. Many of them like the 3500GT and "Birdcage" are collectables worth their weight in gold.
A Lamborghini a much better buy? The Miura kept going up in flames because the carburettors spewed fuel, the Countach had to have its carburettors tuned constantly, and none was ever driven very long by its owners knowing their constant reliability issues.
the Lagonda was as beautiful a car as ever resembled a pencil box.
Mechanically, it was a catastrophe. The company decided to build the Lagonda with a brace of cutting-edge, computer-driven electronics and cathode-ray displays, which would have been very impressive if any of them ever worked.
NASA couldn't have built this car, much less the heirs to Joseph Lucas,
Still, I'd kill to have one of these cars, and the O-scope and multi-meter to fix it.
The profile is absolutely beautiful. The rest, including the ineterior is disturbing to say the least. How a car's profile could be so sublime with the rest being so awful is almost sureal.
the most downright awful looking aston by far. even the old vanquish was a little too brash for my liking but this was almost as ghastly as a similar era cadillac.
shame there aren't cars looking like this being made now, I'd love something like that, only with working electronics and an engine which gets more than 8mpg or w/e ;)
@TheMarcellox Totally agree with you. Fabulous ULTRA exotic super saloon. Absolutely outrageous, but beautiful and mega exclusive. Super wealthy only thank you!!
@TheMarcellox i think you need to get 1. your eyes checked and 2. your brain checked. this is probably the second ugliest car i have ever seen. (first is the vector w8 twin turbo)
The one you buy for 15K Pounds, you will have to spend 50K Pounds just to get it going. Many of these cars were sadly totally neglected, thus the "junk-yard" price. Same sad story with the Lamborghini Espada, the most elegant (production) Lambo ever made. Although in my opinion the chassis alone, if not totally rusted, is worth the 15K.
However since the last one that rolled of the production line did so as recently as 1994, means that ALOT of the design faults had been addressed. If u were to buy a recent one... spend around 20K & you'll have a good one... thats IF u want one! lol
By 70's standards, this is bold. Remember that back in the 70's sports cars were already sleek yet 4 door saloons weren't. This is like the genesis of sleek 4 door saloons; The Mercedes CLS or Maserati Quattroporte of that time. This defined the future of the automobile industry. today, we can now get LEDs in most of our cars but back then, it was just ambitious.
This is probably the predecessor of the new Aston Martin Rapide.
