@joegt123 Nah... studies show that older dogs are nice to puppies. As you can see here, they even "go easy on them". Kind of like when you play a game with a little kid; you let them win.

My cousins had a dog once that had absolutely zero tolerance for any young animal in the house. They couldn't get any puppies until the dog died. It's just like people. Most of them will put up with kids, but sometimes you have one that just really doesn't like playing around.

@PwnJuice5k definitely having fun. It's one of those situations where if you have to ask then it's clearly playing. When a dog is that much bigger than the other dog and is bothered by the way they are playing then they make it pretty clear that they are fed up. I know she's baring her teeth, but if you watch closely you'll see she never comes close to actually biting the puppy. I have a huge golden myself and he plays the same way. It's really sweet to see in person.

@PwnJuice5k When dogs roll on their back, it means they are only play-fighting. It is considered a vulnerable position for a dog and they don't willingly put themselves in that position unless they are comfortable with whoever is in proximity and/or having fun with another dog. If she was stand-offish, guarantee you she wouldn't have been on her back at any point.

These dogs use their mouths like we use our fingers. They can actually be extremely delicate with their teeth. My Lab picks ripe tomatoes off the vine (we try to discourage her from doing it...) without leaving any kind of mark on them from her teeth. When they play like this, even if it looks like they are biting, they're just touching/grabbing.

They are not the same. Golden Retrievers have long hair and are ALWAYS golden. And Labrador Retriever have short hair and can be found in black, yellow and brown. :)
