@brcruz619 word. da fuks an entourage? ole hibernatin bear sleepin azz muhphuckahs. lol. s'all good least they gettin they much deserved shine though.
probably the best live experience i've ever had at a hiop hop show.. Blackalicious and Latyrx backed by DJ Shadow during their hey day.. sick sick sick
Everybody missing the point. Just enjoy the song dont worry if Latyrx is getting disrespected or if 50 Cent make this much money. You think Latyrx gives a fuck about that? No they just hella proud of the track as we all should just be happy we get to hear it
This song is so pimp. If you love the ladies, they will love u back for this one! They really do a good job on the credits of Entourage, some amazing music they play...How tight would that be to have that guys job.
If u like this song rate up on my comment! If you dont.... then.. Just rate then... All of you should because whats the point of looking up a song if you dont like it?!?!?!?!? Some ppl rate comments like "that video is horrible!" but its their choice for watching it!
I think you are all being super childish blaming that so many people found out about this song on Entourage... You knew it before ? Well good for you, what r you thinking? That you should get a reward for that ? Sorry you're not alone anymore snobbishly enjoying some band... I've had that countless times and I've never complained about it.
I also saw it for the first time on Entourage and then again later on that documentary. Why does it matter who heard it first and who is a poser. Can't we just appreciate good music no matter where or when we hear it? It's like someone saying "I was in to Mozart years ago" to a child. Doesn't matter. Stop being music snobs.
Yeah, that's Lyrics Born on here. This is his original group with him and Lateef. They only released one full-length album, which came out in '97. Definitely a groundbreaking and very original Hip-Hop record at that time. It had a sound and style unlike anything before it. Classic material, that was kinda slept on and underrated.
I learned about this group and this song from the Documentary "Scratch" about the history of DeeJaying. I think it was Z-trip doing a demo with this song on vinyl. Loved it ever since.
My friend Priscilla introduced me to this one ...she demanded silence before playing it...and each time we listened to it we felt like one more go at the song would really cement the deal...this song requires two plays at the least...once is not enough....the lyrics are very empowering and respectful....I can relate to that..beware woman everywhere will claim this as "their song"....a masterpiece....indeed!
They give 50 cent, a no-class moron a million bucks for mugging about Vitamin Water....and real talent like this goes forgotten. I'm thinking maybe we fans of hip hop are sending the wrong signals.
@blackjesus187 I totally agree with you, except 50 cent and all those other MTV rappers aren't hip-hop. They are "rappers" which means they are sell out douchebags. It's a shame that MTV dictates what rap is now-a-days, it used to be about having a good time and partying, now its about rims, bitches, and shootin' people. None of which most people can relate to, except the "bitches" lol, I do like the ladies!!
@blackjesus187 He ain't forgotten. Quannum and all of it's members have sway with headz all over the globe! Solesides is one of my favorite LP's to rock at parties. Especially this SAF (sweet as fuck) track. Peace
I anticipate a Lyrics Born/Lateef record more than I do a Mos Def/Talib Kweli record. As much as I love Black Star, they don't bounce off each other like Latyrx. It would be 16 bars then the next emcee goes 16 bars. With Latyrx, the emcees would rhyme syncopated with each other and even finish each others lines off. "8 Point Agenda" is the greatest example of two emcees working off each other perfectly!
Blackstar has great chemistry but not at the level of Latyrx. They have never rapped simultaneously (one in the right headphone and one in the left at the same time). Just check both groups debut album covers for visual proof. Two separate heads verse two heads moulded into each other as if one mind.
I feel you on that one. Quannum represents some of the best in progressive thinking mans Hip Hop. Lyrics Born and Lateef loves experimenting with their singing voices, however, their strength is their lyrical dexterity. With the solo efforts I feel they were holding back. They are capable of making a monster album and as you said, the right production lineup, back to basics, and Latyrx would be a problem.
Please get their "say that" joint out there. Lotta youngins missing out on lyrical talent
