Troubleshooting vinyl control (part 1)

I want to connect two turntables and use an external controller as mixer. Let me know if this is the way to do it:

Connect each turntable to a phono preamp.

Connect each phono preamp to a stereo line-in.

Now for the mixer: Connect it to USB.

Will Mixxx allow me to control it with a USB mixer?

Also, can I use a USB or firewire interface for the line-ins?
