Saw this by accident not long ago, at 3am in the morning, and I was a little freaked out. Even as bizarre/strange as the film is, along with the eerie soundtrack, it's one of those films you that keeps you wondering what's going to happen next.
I saw this at 3am, randomly. I had woken up from a nightmare. I went downstairs turned on HBO, and it was the very beginning. I had no clue what the hell i was watching and this movie fucked my brain up. FOR YEARS. I never found out the name of the movie until 6 months ago and it blew me away equally.
@RitaItaPita DAMN how trippy is that i too saw this at three a.m. but way back in the day on HBO and it scared the piss outta me, i could just picture that guy at the end of the movie pointing into the direction of the missiles and it creeped me out for a long time. I own the original VHS and DVD one of my top ten movies I've seen...
Tangerine Dream = 80's unparalleled GREATNESS!! Good Film and solid sound track too!! Oddities and chaotic feelings running rampant in this film yet Tangerine Dream's brilliance mediates every main scene. Without their esoteric music this would be just a good movie but with it it's a truly mystifying marvel. For the movie itself - it was a good runner-up to 1983's "The Day After"
but it is still a really chilling perception to what could have been and still can be. Nice Job.
I came here to say the same thing. I was a child of the 80's, wondering if a nuclear war with Russia would happen. After this movie, I could barely sleep for the next three days.
Good film there but music this true masterpiece. The O.S.T. one of the best in history. Title " Running Out Of Time" is the best electronic song ever.

I think Miracle Mile qualifies as one of the most underrated films of the 80s.

Awesome sleeper hit of the 80's. I didn't know until recently that it was originally written to be part of the "Twilight Zone Movie".

I saw Miracle Mile on its release. I still get goose bumps when I watch it. I have the poster, DVD and Tangerine Dream's awsome soundtrack. Groovy.
