Not usually a fan of Japanese cars, but this one is awesome. It's this kind of car that the Japs do best! Small, quirky, and no doubt a shitload of fun to drive.
I have one in Malaysia and it was SO FUN TO DRIVE, to look at, and to own! other Ferarri, Porsh drivers cant keep their eyes off on this midget. mine is silver just like the one showed.
My one & only experience w/Daihatsu was a U.S ,.used '92 Charade that I bought in '00. The 3 cyl. version. Other than cheap seats, I found the interior & dash nice. It had a nice gearbox & the eng. willing enough. I enjoyed driving it for 2 yrs. & will always view Daihatsu favorably.
I would love to buy a beaten up second hand Copen, fix it up, remove the engine and fit an equally compact Mazda rotary engine. Then supercharge it. Then convert the car for rear-wheel drive.
the japanese version is a turbocharged 660cc engine but in europe it is a 1300cc naturally aspirated engine. they had to upgrade the engine in europe because the turbocharged 660cc engine no longer met EU emissions standards.
I like small cars.I love hatchbacks the most. But i still like this Copen.Reason:Its small, its a cheap convertible, its a 2 door. Its an affordable Convertible. And if you want a convertible so badly you are better off with this. You can save up plenty of money instead of drying up your wallet on an Audi A5 conv. Its definitely worth it.I don't see why many people don't like Daihatsu. They see it that Daihatsu is a small, lousy car company. But Daihatsu is only concentrating on Small Cars.
Great car but the audio on this video needs some work. You're "ducking" the audio in some strange places... and for random lengths of time. My hand was constantly on the volume control of my computer throughout this video.
I agree, I think the trouble is that it seems to have been uploaded without the dubbed commentary you'd normally have on a car test - that'd explain the quiet patches - there should probably be a voiceover in these parts.
I am 185cm and I dare you, anyone shorter than me can fit into this car perfectly. This is the cheapest convertible in the world, and the most affordable to run, considering it is only 1.3L (660cc only in my country). Low road tax, cheap, and stunning. Plus, it has a turbo. Even BMW and Audi convertibles can't keep their eyes away from this mini wonder when stopped at a junction. :)
haha...well, that's still chance ahead, just wait~ at least you can wait, I can't turn myself back in the form of a 170-180cm tall male anymore......unless I cut my legs off, and then I need modification on the car to suit my disable status~
cool car, but this is the worst review iv ever seen, it showed the same footage clips like 4-5 times!

I love the Copen. I'm in Melbourne and I own a 2002 Diahatsu Cuore 2 door and it's high enough to fit really tall people. Daihats are so reliable!
