Victory, not only being a more reliable, more performance oriented bike, is more American than Harley ever thought about being. FACT. Honda purchases $12 billion from American suppliers of parts and materials annually and has invested $6 billion in Ohio alone. Harley is nowhere close to helping Americans as a ricer. Vic is a solid bike, with better performance, better reliablity, at a better price...with far less posers. People who buy vic simply want a good bike. End of discussion.
I am both a Harley-Davidson & Victory Rider. I love both of my bikes! The '03 Ultra Classic is a strong runner. I've ridden 1500 miles in 23 hrs 38 min, as per Iron Butt Association verification. But I love my Victory Highball. I have never been so captivated by a bike, as I have been by the Highball. It is a real screamer. Go to RTStrongDog videos for a comparison of the exhaust and more. I moved mountains to get the Highball, and I'm damn glad I did!
The people bashing Victory likely have never ridden one. Test drove a Hammer and then went to Harley. The only bike with any balls is the v-rod. And even that didn't have the tourque. Everything else is extremely slow and has outdated tech. Buy HD if you want an image. If you want a great bike, get a Victory.
Harley davidson... Heritage, poor quality, over priced, less power, less comfort, less value, lacking handling, poor braking. Or a Victory: Built to last and superior to harley in all ways. I dont care for heritage if it comes with such poor quality. Victory FTW!
having owned a victory you will not need a dealership right next door i rode from east texas to oceanside california on my victory and didnt lose a nut or bolt try that with an hd
For the guy that says he took his 1200 sportster out of mothballs and blew away a victory, all I can say is you must be blowing something else!!!! My 09 Jackpot would eat you alive. Who the F@ck are you trying to kid. Harley's are overpriced POS's. And for the record, My Victory is more American made than your Harley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't remember when I needed to go 1/4 mile one second faster. To me, it's about riding in style on a machine that has a rich heritage and represents the beliefs I stand for. Oh, resale too.
@dannyhann2 Good for you. The price is right. The power is there. Plenty of aftermarket. Neck breaking when just out cruising. They get so much attention
on 04/17/11 I just took my sportster out of the moth balls and i blew a victory away and my bike is a 2000 sportster 1200S... out of the moth balls and right to the power
The announcement is absolutely no surprise due to the very high import tariffs in India, along with a growing market for the big bikes. Harley expects the lower prices resulting from assembling the bikes there will stimulate demand even further. The Indian plant will be Harley's second outside the U.S., Harley Davidson has had an assembly plant in Brazil since 1999.
Victory Motorcycle assembled at the Spirit Lake, Iowa facility, while assembly of the Freedom V-twin engine will also move to the Spirit Lake factory .This allows all Victory manufacturing and assembly to occur in a single location, and lets the manufacturer continue to state Victorys are "American-made motorcycles". Pandya also said there are "planned investments going into the Spirit Lake plant as it becomes the Victory Motorcycles Center of Excellence
It's funny to hear all these HD boys talk about Victory being metric. The whole world is going metric. I work for Chrysler. It's all metric. I'd rather have a bike that's compatible with the rest of the world. Give it time, The Harley sales plunge is coming soon. All signs point to it.
Victory motorcycle has more in common with foreign bikes than it has with other American brands The American V-twins are all based on 1-inch handlebars and SAE nuts and bolts; the Victorys typically have 7/8-inch bars and metric fasteners. In fact, the parts made by the American V-twin companies have as much chance of fitting the Victory as they have of fitting Kawasaki or Yamaha motorcycles. In that sense only, the Victory is foreign to the V-twin market.
If you buy a victory around here there's only one town in the whole state to get them and have them serviced. My thoughts; Victory is ugly and they suck sorry I have more support and better service owning a Harley.

Harley may have a heritage... but Victory has the most awesome V-twin cruiser. Beautifully sculpted, great sounding bikes.
