haha def. an idiot for taking a stock explorer! my explorer would have had no problem clearing this. and my explorer could prolly pull those jeeps away. 1993 ford explorer with a 3 inch body. 2 inch add a leafs in the back and 33x14.5 inch boggers on it. and in the process of dropping a 351 W in the bitch!
My 79 Bronco could pull all three of them through that while they're in park! It always helps when some mouthy stupid woman is monday morning quarterbacking too.STFU,damn.
jeeps are really good offroading cuz they have a super short wheel base but thats it!!!! they get the same gas mileage as my v8 ford expedition, the interior sucks it can only fit 4 people and one backpack lol .... or 2 people and some small camping stuff and there not cheap.... my expedition would of pulled that explorer in 4low with 8 passengers camping stuff and towing a trailer without a problem.. and with a minor lift and some bigger tires it could have gone threw that stupid track
The guy in the explorer is a dumbass no question there, but the only good thing about your stock piece of shit jeep is its wheel base and...........hmm......well you got a winch for when ya get stuck way to go champ be sure to stay on the 4 wheeler trails with the kids
the car is only as good as the driver... he high centered like an idiot, if a smart person would have been driving he wouldnt have gotten into this situation
you assholes have nothing better to do than to sit and watch a car get pulled out of a ditch when you go offroading. Loosers, and maybe stop to think its the driver not the explorer.
I wouldn't blame the truck it's the moron who put it there. Hung it up on the frame trying to show his g/f what a great driver he is. She should have kicked him in the nuts and gone home in a jeep.
im gonna go ahead and post the video of my stock 91 explorer pulling my friends lifted jeep wrangler out of the mud for y'all. now i do freely admit that the ford in your video is not the right type of explorer to take off road but the first gens are pretty badass. dont knock them till you try them!
not only that but why make it more difficult by trying to pull the weight of the truck OVER the berm when it would have been easier to pull it through the little bit of mud in front of it... trust me it would make it easily so the real jackass isnt the guy in the explorer but the people with the jeeps...
the real jackasses are thoses standing around a cable under tension... hot knife through butter people edition i have an 02 explorer mud tires 3" suspension that ive pulled jeeps out of situations like this with
Chill out faggots, for any real truck lover out there, they would all tell you the same thing, not for you ltitle posers out there thinking you know something about a truck. ( yes I call exploreres trucks) jeeps obviously have the mods to go off roading, lifts and all, for the 3rd gen explorers they dont have that out yet. Morons.
i want a suburban when i grow up with like 32" r somtin n like a 6 inch lift n slightly loose suspanchencs so if i go trew holes the car will wobble a lil but yea that explorer could of made it they just didnt know there was a drop down there maybe thought it was a small roll down area r somtin
ok, well maybe stock explorers are not supposed to be used to go off roading in places like this. but mine will be made for this, im putting 31's on it along with either a 4in lift or an 8in lift, so mine will me able to go there and make it. but i have no idea where that is at.
@phatphil102008 Only 31's with a 4-8" lift?! lmao.. that would look so gay, please don't do that. I'm running 33's with just a 2.5" lift. Plan on throwing on 35's after some trimming of the fenders:)
3rd Gen Explorers (truck in this vid) do okish off roading. I have a few buddies that have them with lifts. But 4th Gens, 06-10, unfucking stoppable!! They have brake control. Which locks up a spinning wheel in the air, forcing the power to go to the grounded wheel (basically an auto locker). My 4th Gen destroys my buds YJ with a 4" lift and WAY better articulation then my truck which is no surprise for have solid axles. And I STILL beat him! And from what I can tell OP, your rolling in a YJ..
Taking a stock Explorer with poor ground clearence over an embankment like this guy did was a dumb idea, his frame bottomed out and he got stuck on the edge. His Explorer would be fine if he had bigger tires and perhaps a 3'' suspension lift, then he wouldnt bottom out
that guy is such a dumbass. but you cant trash the explorer my would have made it through there. its been through worse than that. that guy just cant drive
i took my 04' Explorer through a plowed up field after it rained, i had no problem. he only got stuck because it has such a long wheel base compared to the jeep which is short and high
dam those people in the jeep are assholes. if he wants to wheel his explorer, let him. your jeep is probably some stock ass wrangler and youre hatin on someone trying to off road. pathetic.
@cXcon7 True that. I am a Jeep guy and its great but I know the limitations of my rig and my buddy has a 97 explorer and it can go places I can't and I can go places he can't. Point I'm trying to make is idc what rig you choose as long as you have fun and don't hate, I'll pull anyone out that needs help regardless if its a ford, chevy dodge or whatever. We're all on the same team and gotta look out for one another
Ok.. i dond know about you but fords get shit done better thatn any other truck or suv out there.. on-road, offroad, pulling, fuel economy, and reliabillity. so the driver of this explorer messed up, take your pussy jeep and drive it off a cliff.
When Ford debuted this truck back in 1990 I thought the name explorer would mean we would be a able to do some exploring but Ford never claimed this was an off road duty truck. They said its built for everyday life and it can handle moderate off roading. Thats all the exploring ppl do anyway lol
Well, I've seen old Ford Broncos off roading as good as any Jeep. Unfortunately, Hummer is dead now thanks to the geniuses at GM and Ford is interested in making gay SUVs only.
So Jeep still reigns as the only tried and true American Off Roader.
i had a 99 jeep Cherokee limited with 5.0 and now i have a 96 ford explorer limited 5.0 and honestly i love them both, there similar in a lot of ways and different, but there both good suv's in my opinion. my jeep was a lil better off road tho because it was 4x4 and the explorer is awd, but i still love my explorer. it has close to the same power as my jeep did. and there both luxury edition!
@1Southernboy88 thats why you see SOOOOOOO many people of roading with an explorer
take a look around on the trails, the jeep will own it
also, if you care to take something more then just your own wit into account, the physics behind this clearly defines the jeep as the obvious winner. better aproach/departure theta values. lighter mass equates to lower newton output=better balance of weight. shorter body, less chance of getting stuck on skirts
Im guessing the JACKASS who put this on YouTube meant by his stupid ass title that this particular year and stock kind of explorer shouldn't go off-road.. Because my 98 sport trumps some jeeps..
You can hear their heads inflate when they see that guy stuck. Probably a beginner in the EX. They are GREAT vehicles (90s models, early 00s). Jeeps are kinda cool, but very limited in application. Explorers are a way to get the BEST of both worlds, on road and off. Long trips, grocery store, lumber yard, towing, off road. DBs like this give the cool Jeep peeps a bad name. Be cool, help the guy, be cool about it. We're all out there to enjoy the outdoors, not compare swords
i like both ford and jeep but i hate jeep owners because they think they are the gods of off roading. i own an 91 explorer and it could drive circles around any jeep in the woods.
I own a 03 Explorer v8. I've never had a problem with it off road. I've had mud up to the grill and came out fine. In the video, the driver didn't approach the hill right and bottomed out. That happens to all 4x4's.
Just as it's a poor tradesman who blames his tools, it's a poor driver who blames his vehicle.I've pulled Jeeps out of the sand with my 500$ Isuzu Trooper. Doesn't mean Jeeps suck. Just the dummy behind the wheel.
its not the car its the driver.. if he wasnt so fucking stupid he would put some premiun shocks on it and then they couldve gone fast and jumped the fucker. i couldve with mine easily and its a 2002 limited
LOL, I could of gotten that out of there set on 2x4. My mother owns an exploder, 2002, I know this as a fact. I hate the car personally, but shit, I've beaten it, mum has beaten it, is gone extended periods without the correct service, and its still going at 175,000 miles. With that in mind, I'm going to keep it, cuz that shit is tough.
wow u guys are retarded, saying that fords aren't meant for off road. its just the wrong tires, just because you own a jeep doesn't mean its better. an explorer with the right tires would make your jeep look pathetic
A grocery getter gets stuck! AHAHAHAHA! When it snows around here all the mexicans who drive these things get excited and think they can just fly through the snow in them, till they hot a patch of ice and you drive past one with a smashed front grill on the highway divider.
Its not fords fault. Road tires arent ment for mud. Im a chevy guy. and i have owned a few fords. they are reliable and good offroad. blame the driver not manufacturer
I like how the girl pretends to know what she's talking about. Any vehicle can get high centered, all you need is a bad driver. That Jeep couldn't even pull it, they had to winch it. Lame.
first off a stock 04 explorer not the best for off roading i'm sure it can handle it's own but with out some kinda modifications such as tires, axles, suspension lift, and so on your gonna get stuck . second of all a vehicles capabilities can be limited to the capability of the driver
look here dumb ass. i have a 2002 ford explorer and it does really good off road, and that dumb hoe saying that they suck, well so do you. and i have a 1991 jeep Cherokee 4x4, and they do about the same. Dont hate on them because you have a piece of shit wrangler, with a snorkel, your not cool.
its dumb how people are talking shit about ford and how automatically someone is retarded for wanting to drive their car offroad.. come on people you got 4 wheels and and dirt roads what would you do? given that this guy probably didnt know what was gonna happen im sure the same thing could happen to some jeep and all of sudden everyone jumps on him like he spit in their faces or something. its not like the guy in the explorer ruined the day. the only jackass i see is whoever put the vid up
Some people with jeeps are just so arogant. Thinking they have the best off road machine. I want to let you know my 05 Explorer does a lot off road. Yeah I couldn't take it to Moab or extreme places like that, but I can do about anything any other off road vehicle can do. That is pure the drivers fault. Besides I have more mud and dirt on the underside of my 05 Explorer than MOST jeeps have. If you buy a Jeep USE IT! I'm not a Jeep hater, I love jeeps and will own one as my next vehicle
explorers were'nt ment for off road use? you should have said stock explorers with 7in ground clearence should try something beyond the capability of the suv. dont blam the suv blame the driver. explorers have the capability of being alot better than your cherokee. list of mods on my explorer
4.56 gears front and back, track lock in rear, ls diff in front, 2in lift in front 3 in rear 32x10 tires on black steel wheels widing my stance by 5in. cooling system for my trans through a functionalscoop
I've owned many fords and chevys before. Two rangers, Two explorers, Chevy 1500's and I never laid frame like that ass. I currently own and offroad a 3rd gen "2005" explorer, and in stock trim with 32" MT's on it. I've never run into an getting stuck like that, Thats a bad driver, hell I've seen H2's get stuck on shit like that. A dumb ass driver, not knowing how to drive thier trucks.
@danman51992 i agree. that specific type of ford explorer in this vid is NOT for off roading or even for mudding. but my ford explorer sport 98 would kick all those whimpy jeeps asses!!!!
ok wow this most definatley not the explorers fault I have an explorer and Ive driven two hundred feet into a lake and its stock and Ive gone off road way worse than that. jeeps are the gayest veihicle ever there top speed is 75 and they rattle and are honestly a waist of money.
@josh1233Mr ok first off fords aint any better when it comes to rattling. the ford explorers have had such a big problem with their engine being crap, where as the long used jeep 4.0L I6 engine lasts a long ass time. and for top speed they can go faster then 75, but it doesnt really matter cuz jeeps werent designed for that purpose. they were designed to go places most vehicles cant. and they do.
Clearly it's not stuck cause it's a Ford. Incase you didn't notice, it's hung up on the frame. Even with the jeeps, chevy's, toyota's...They would all get stuck, had they tried to drive over something like that and their wheel base was too long. It can happen to ANYONE.
And as everyone said, it's definitely the driver for attempting such a thing with such a long wheel base. Driver error, not the truck.
wow.. my explorer is probably the most capable off road vehicle at my house. its gone way more places than any other vehicle i have has. so that means its beating a toyota with a 350 chevy and 35" tires, a wagoneer with 32"s, and a cj-7 built up for rockcrawling. keep in mind the explorer is stock. now the people who filmed this video are the stubborn jackasses.
@drshaneo12 I take my JK Wrangler places that you would have to airlift an Explorer into... Then, you would have to carry it out one piece at a time....
that explorer is way to nice to offroad in... mine was a 93 and ready to die before i ever took it offroading(every weekend for a year) until the transmission decided to fuck me over... damn seals =(
Just gonna repeat what most intelligent people know, this drive is a tool, and a stock Explorer with shitty wheels is not designed to tackle obstacles that require lots of clearance. That being said; have fun in your Jeeps yuppies!
Looks high centered. But these hater dumb-asses have to talk shit about anything different. I have pulled more Jeeps out with my Explorer than I care to remember. I have been high centered, but I use a winch. Instead of shit talking, try giving the guy advice, like getting a lift kit and better tires. Oh well, they sound like a couple of inbread hillbillies so I did not expect much better from them.
omg u and ur women r dumb u throw a budget 2 inch lift and a set of 33s and it will walk around ur jeep and im a jeep guy anyhting can offroad aslong as u have 4lo u r good dont hate on other peoples shit he got stuck im sure u have been stuck more then once unless u r the best off-roader in the world
You guys are dipshits! I own a '04 Explorer and i live way out in the mountains and guess what? IT DOES JUST FINE! Rain, snow, mud EVERYTHING! They're great reliable vehicles. Besides, its the drivers fault anyways. Just because Ford isnt owned by the government (or a gay itallian auto company) doesnt mean u can bash it.Ford was the first great Amercan auto manufacturer, and they will also be the last so SUCK IT GM REDNECKS! FORD FOR LIFE!
@MastrOfPuppets69 Ford is good but Oldsmobile was the first American Car manufacturer. And these guys are driving Jeeps not Gm, why create more animosity?
I Own A 2wd 1999 Explorer no 4WD option and I can take that bitch a lot of place Heeps cant go! You just gotta know when to call it, and never hesitate. That dude probably would have made it if he wasn't scared to push it.
@Carrett42 to tell ya the truth if that was me with my 02 ford explorer sport trac i probably would have burried that fucker. if ur gonna go down u might as well do it right. but i probably wouldnt have got stuck anyhow. if i did i would just winch myself out. haha burying it would just be more fun though lol
@MastrOfPuppets69 I 100% agree! Explorers do wonderful in rain, snow or mud, as long as there is asphalt underneath it. This vehicle is not meant to play in the DIRT. This is what we call a suburban off-road vehicle, this means keep it on paved or well-worn paths. It's more like the fat rich kid of SUVs it can play in the woods, but it'll get hurt, fall down a lot and get stuck in a mud hole.
@MastrOfPuppets69 Yeah Explorers are very capable vehicles. It was just the dude driving it that fucked up. It can walk over a gay ass jeep any day. Ford's running gear is even tougher, Jeeps got gay weak ass dana 30's and 35's. Weak weak weak running. I know cause I've broke several of them!!
first of all tell that dumb bitch to shut the fuck up because she doesn't know shit about this cuz they could be used for off roading just like those piece of shit jeep wranglers with those pussy tires, get a real jeep a cj-5 bitch!!!!!
fuck you ford explorer is much better then your old sucking car the men who has driven this explorer hasent any luck and the explorer is a very very good car in offroading so dont talk you shit i have an explorer by my selve and it is very good
spinning the tires is only going to make it worse. should of never went that way in the first place, dipshit. So its not fords fault, its your own stupid dumbass fault.
Its not the Explorers fault the people are idiots.. Explorers do decent off road but when you high center like that it doesn't matter what your in, your fucked!!
explorers are the shit. that bitch and that asian need to shut up. this guy doesnt know how to mud. its not even in 4wd of even if its 4wd. only back wheels are spinng when going down hill.
Explorers are just sh!t... If you don't think so, then watch this video as a Subaru Forester (yes, a Subaru, just a station wagon) pulls out an Explorer from the sand dunes it got stuck... And watch very close, as the Subaru goes up the dune in reverse, not in drive mode (D)!!!!!! LOL An Explorer can do this?? NOOOOOOOO!!!
look at all the sissy jeeps. lol. ok, so this idiot got his explorer stuck.......ive pulled out more jeeps with my bronco than any other rig on the trail. lol. ford=better than jeep.
you ca bring them out there but with four inches of lift and 33'x12.50;s or better they have posi in front and rear and a good wheelbase for some mudding. i drive a big old well built chevy truck myself.
this person who posted this video is a cock smoke. he and his stupid ass girl friend sit there and talk shit without even offering to lend a hand. everyone was a noob at one point, and every vehicle was stock at one point. And like many others have pointed out.....Ford has yet to take any of my/our/your tax money.
whatever. you can't make such a general statement like that. my SASed explorer will put most jeeps to shame...that being said, this guy clearly can't drive, and this particular explorer has no business being anywhere except the mall parking lot.
i have a very low 4.0 v6 2x4 and i take it mudding all the time ... the fellow with that ford is a idiot anyway. if you dont know how to mud, then dont try it
haha def. an idiot for taking a stock explorer! my explorer would have had no problem clearing this. and my explorer could prolly pull those jeeps away. 1993 ford explorer with a 3 inch body. 2 inch add a leafs in the back and 33x14.5 inch boggers on it. and in the process of dropping a 351 W in the bitch!

@pwolff3 he had shitty tires.
Fenderkid67 5 months ago
@1Southernboy88 thats why you see SOOOOOOO many people of roading with an explorer
take a look around on the trails, the jeep will own it
also, if you care to take something more then just your own wit into account, the physics behind this clearly defines the jeep as the obvious winner. better aproach/departure theta values. lighter mass equates to lower newton output=better balance of weight. shorter body, less chance of getting stuck on skirts
give science a chance
itll always prove u wrong

its purley the driver she sucks! she cant handle ford haha

Im guessing the JACKASS who put this on YouTube meant by his stupid ass title that this particular year and stock kind of explorer shouldn't go off-road.. Because my 98 sport trumps some jeeps..
bighunt08 11 months ago
I drive a 99 sport, never gave me any issues offroad, 192k and still kickin'.

@EZ30Loyale 2001 Sport 76K still kickin :) best vehicle I've ever owned.

they are too suppose to go off road you jack ass
alschbachb 11 months ago
You can hear their heads inflate when they see that guy stuck. Probably a beginner in the EX. They are GREAT vehicles (90s models, early 00s). Jeeps are kinda cool, but very limited in application. Explorers are a way to get the BEST of both worlds, on road and off. Long trips, grocery store, lumber yard, towing, off road. DBs like this give the cool Jeep peeps a bad name. Be cool, help the guy, be cool about it. We're all out there to enjoy the outdoors, not compare swords
djembeing 11 months ago
Jeep guys are always trying to make themselves feel better about the fact they made a wrong decision buying a JEEP!
LaochWins 11 months ago
i like both ford and jeep but i hate jeep owners because they think they are the gods of off roading. i own an 91 explorer and it could drive circles around any jeep in the woods.
ghostofonyx343 11 months ago
I thought the winched pulled it out not the jeep....
33BowHunter33 11 months ago
I own a 03 Explorer v8. I've never had a problem with it off road. I've had mud up to the grill and came out fine. In the video, the driver didn't approach the hill right and bottomed out. That happens to all 4x4's.
philp332521 11 months ago
Just as it's a poor tradesman who blames his tools, it's a poor driver who blames his vehicle.I've pulled Jeeps out of the sand with my 500$ Isuzu Trooper. Doesn't mean Jeeps suck. Just the dummy behind the wheel.
iantripps 11 months ago
its not the car its the driver.. if he wasnt so fucking stupid he would put some premiun shocks on it and then they couldve gone fast and jumped the fucker. i couldve with mine easily and its a 2002 limited
football6867 11 months ago
you misspelled M-E-A-N-T (jackass)
beanerboy94 11 months ago

AHAHAHAHA! When it snows around here all the mexicans who drive these things get excited and think they can just fly through the snow in them, till they hot a patch of ice and you drive past one with a smashed front grill on the highway divider.
woodlandcammo27 1 year ago
Its not fords fault. Road tires arent ment for mud. Im a chevy guy. and i have owned a few fords. they are reliable and good offroad. blame the driver not manufacturer

MrJeepcrazy1000 1 year ago
I like how the girl pretends to know what she's talking about. Any vehicle can get high centered, all you need is a bad driver. That Jeep couldn't even pull it, they had to winch it. Lame.
buick3074 1 year ago
first off a stock 04 explorer not the best for off roading i'm sure it can handle it's own but with out some kinda modifications such as tires, axles, suspension lift, and so on your gonna get stuck . second of all a vehicles capabilities can be limited to the capability of the driver
beezneez125 1 year ago
how is a explorer not meant for off roadin?? morons he just hung up
brizerbrizer 1 year ago
look here dumb ass. i have a 2002 ford explorer and it does really good off road, and that dumb hoe saying that they suck, well so do you. and i have a 1991 jeep Cherokee 4x4, and they do about the same. Dont hate on them because you have a piece of shit wrangler, with a snorkel, your not cool.

Pav56C 1 year ago 2
its dumb how people are talking shit about ford and how automatically someone is retarded for wanting to drive their car offroad.. come on people you got 4 wheels and and dirt roads what would you do? given that this guy probably didnt know what was gonna happen im sure the same thing could happen to some jeep and all of sudden everyone jumps on him like he spit in their faces or something. its not like the guy in the explorer ruined the day. the only jackass i see is whoever put the vid up
MrBflyin 1 year ago 2
It's all about the driver and where you put your wheels
ChildOL 1 year ago

Sirtorment1979 1 year ago
@danman51992 i agree. that specific type of ford explorer in this vid is NOT for off roading or even for mudding. but my ford explorer sport 98 would kick all those whimpy jeeps asses!!!!

ok wow this most definatley not the explorers fault I have an explorer and Ive driven two hundred feet into a lake and its stock and Ive gone off road way worse than that. jeeps are the gayest veihicle ever there top speed is 75 and they rattle and are honestly a waist of money.
josh1233Mr 1 year ago
@josh1233Mr ok first off fords aint any better when it comes to rattling. the ford explorers have had such a big problem with their engine being crap, where as the long used jeep 4.0L I6 engine lasts a long ass time. and for top speed they can go faster then 75, but it doesnt really matter cuz jeeps werent designed for that purpose. they were designed to go places most vehicles cant. and they do.
danman51992 1 year ago

Clearly it's not stuck cause it's a Ford. Incase you didn't notice, it's hung up on the frame. Even with the jeeps, chevy's, toyota's...They would all get stuck, had they tried to drive over something like that and their wheel base was too long. It can happen to ANYONE.
And as everyone said, it's definitely the driver for attempting such a thing with such a long wheel base. Driver error, not the truck.
BubonicPlague88 1 year ago
wow.. my explorer is probably the most capable off road vehicle at my house. its gone way more places than any other vehicle i have has. so that means its beating a toyota with a 350 chevy and 35" tires, a wagoneer with 32"s, and a cj-7 built up for rockcrawling. keep in mind the explorer is stock. now the people who filmed this video are the stubborn jackasses.
drshaneo12 1 year ago

FORD FOR LIFE!

hateorbehated1 1 year ago
@MastrOfPuppets69 I 100% agree! Explorers do wonderful in rain, snow or mud, as long as there is asphalt underneath it. This vehicle is not meant to play in the DIRT. This is what we call a suburban off-road vehicle, this means keep it on paved or well-worn paths. It's more like the fat rich kid of SUVs it can play in the woods, but it'll get hurt, fall down a lot and get stuck in a mud hole.
Aeone 1 year ago

@MastrOfPuppets69 Yeah Explorers are very capable vehicles. It was just the dude driving it that fucked up. It can walk over a gay ass jeep any day. Ford's running gear is even tougher, Jeeps got gay weak ass dana 30's and 35's. Weak weak weak running. I know cause I've broke several of them!!
