  • if this doesn't work after 10 seconds, find a knife or other sharp object and slit their throat ear to ear. Then, do flying knee drops on their chest; about where their heart is. They will thank you after regaining conciousness.

  • You dont have to help Negro's though - just sit back and watch the show.

This video would have a lot more memorable if the blonde chick was wearing a strap on.

  • Thanks. This was helpful.

  • just do it .... you dont have to be a Doctor to save a life !!!

  • What about cutting a traccy?

  • omg

  • I typically use the Falcon Punch method. Works every time...

  • Back blows are for infants not adults because you can push the object further down the trachea. I also think this is from another country or something

  • It is also used in adults, but they have to be in a position that allows the object to go out.

  • this is not a very good video, first off you cant hurt someone by giving them back blows, second off back blows are effective you are creating pressure with that oxygen that forces the object out. Thirdly SUPPORT THE VICTIMS WEIGHT, if they do go unconscious you cant control how they fall so you need to support their weight as much as possible and you should combine back blows with abdominal thrusts both methods are more efficient and better chance you can get the object out with 2 vs.1

  • in america we do it different adn u are right it just makes it worse for the choking person wow who came up with that and that looks like it hurts

  • better off dialling 911 just to be safe if you are not in Britian

  • Dial 999 for ambulance lol here in American it's 911.

  • Have you people noticed it said BRITISH red cross, people do things different all over the world, just leave it alone, it seems to work for them.

  • I think it should be 123 everywhere. Easier to remember. :)

  • LOL - i played this with my sub turned all the way up - it sounded like while that poor girl was chokin, she was gettin the smack laid down on her.

  • you dont do back blow at the spine area......you do back blows at the scapula or shoulder blades and then do heimlich manuever.... if you do back blow at the spine area it will create a rinnging sensation at victims head specially at the brain

  • You do give back blows between the shoulder blades, this is the current method (American Red Cross). There is a chance of injury, but it outweighs what will happen.... death. The clock is ticking sports fans, you have less than 5 minutes to perform this. Pay attention and get it right the first time. Your around your spouse, family, and friends the most, they are the ones that you are most likely to benifit from your knowlege. Broken ribs, rining noises.. who cares, it better than death.

  • I've always been told to never do the backblows procedure...

  • NOOOO!!!! thats not what you're supposed to do!!!!!!! you NEVER smack them on thier back- that makes it worse

  • Shut the fuck up, even though it can cause back problems or pain, it can also save a person's life.

  • AMAZING ISN'T THAT FOLKS?

  • ... Your such a tard. This is serious -.-'

  • nueve26k: I'm not an expert, but I don't THINK a backblow would hurt when someone is choking.

As a side note, a backblow would really hurt if you hit someone just when they drink something :)

Kids, don't try this at home! :)

  • According to Dr. Heimlich, who pioneered the Heimlich manuever, back blows are bad because they drive an object further down the throat. There have been lawsuits about it- I'm surprised the Red Cross is recommeding them again.

  • Thank you for this video

  • the american red cross videos only show the thrusts, this is really informational.

  • I heard the backblows is a bad idea when someone is choking, is that true?

  • No, Back blows should always be attempted primarily, unless they also broke their neck or something then it would probably be a bad idea.

  • About back blows, it need light or heavy strength?

  • you need to hit them with enough force to dislodge an object, you should not hit them hard enough to leave a mark or seriously hurt them.
