Pcsc1098. Yes one of the problems with mine is the micro servo for changing gears. Burns fast. Since christmas I've already gone through 5. At $30 bucks each it sucks
Hell I do this with my E-Revo, Long Travel Suspension Mod and Proline Tyres...Fun Fun...Would be cool to have the lockable diffs though like on the summit.
Finally, someone that can make a really good R/C video. Well done, great music, great camera work, good angles. Most R/C videos are either 6 seconds of crap that is too far away to see anything, or 6 minutes of video that has 20 seconds of R/C in it. Not many people can film their kits doing anything but passing in front of the camera 100 feet away. Great execution of the camera. Canon Right, I shoot with a HG20, love it. Great job!
Because from what i heard, Most traxxas summit owners break their rear / front axles right away from crawling or hard landing bashing... you ever experience that? and how do you contrast between summit and e-revo? Thanks!
The only thing I've broken is the rear bumper bracket from landing directly on it from a high drop. The drive train seems rather stout. But just like anything else in this world, if you try hard enough to break something, you will. Just be smart about your bashing and it should hold up very well. Again, I've never driven the e-revo so I can't compare.
Oh okay! thanks for some advices... i was just wondering if you could put the e-revo body on it? bcoz i dont like the bulky with rollcage stock body in there... hehe! I see, that's true so you get stuck with always 27mhz transmitter then! last question, have you ever broken anything yet? and do you have to be completely stopped to lock diffs? and change ratio gears?
I don't know if the revo body will fit on it. I'll say this: the exocage body of the Summit can really take a beating. To change from hi to lo or vice versa you should be moving at relatively slow speeds. Locking the diffs should be done when the two wheels on a common axle are under control and moving at similar speeds. In other words, don't lock during a full throttle turn or while airing it out.
Yes it does, my brother actually had one before and he never had any problem with it. But thats true, summit is an all-around bashing, crawling, mudding truck! Just a question, how fast does it go if you put 6-cell in there? and runtime? and did you mention, you can choose between rear and front lockers? do you also think, e-revo body would fit in there? =)
I run it with twin 7 cells and it runs great that way. With 6 cells in it's a bit slower but that's to be expected. I can't give you exact numbers though. The lockers are selectable in this order: None, Front only, Both. I'm sure you could reverse the servo leads and make it rear only if you wanted to. I don't understand what you are asking when you refer to the e-revo body. I would say the worst feature of the Summit is the 27 Mhz radio. It's a 4 channel so you're kinda stuck upgradin
Hey guys, im really thinking on getting traxxas summit, but im also thinking about mgt 8.0? i mean... summit can't really go for hardcore crawling i think it'll break its arms or bulkhead, can't really perform as good as the axial crawlers plus the 25mph i think that gets boring after awhile... i'd apreciate for some advice! thanks!
The 8.0 looks like a pretty badass truck; if that's what you want then go for it. But keep in mind that the Summit has a true low range and selectable lockers. Hardcore crawling is generally low speed and low stress on components and it's not likely to break the truck. As you stated it's not an Axial but the axial wasn't made to bomb down a trail revo-style which the Summit CAN do, albeit a little slower. Look, the Summit isn't the best at everything but it does everything pretty darn well.
Awesome video. I would get a summit but they're far too expensive for me. So I'll be happy with the huge RC Collection I have! :) Great video but what is the name of the song?
i think the suspension would react better if the truck was a little bit heavier. watching you climb the rocks i saw the front of the truck go up, not the suspension obsorbing the rock, my revo 3.3's suspension acts fulls going over rocks, and i think that is a weight factor, but i may be wrong, how much does the summit weigh?
I don't know the exact figure, but I can say for sure it's no lighter than the Revo. Personally I'd like it if the suspension were a bit stiffer out of the box. It bottoms too easily IMO. Perhaps dual rate springs or something would help. But I disagree with your assesment here; for this type of crawling, it's just about right. Not quite pure crawler caliber, but damn good considering it can also bash down a rocky road at 20 MPH and soak it all up!
thats cool.. my revo will eat just about anything, the only regret i have with it is there is little to no low end torque untill you get to about 5 mph, so it is hard to get it to do burn outs, owe well, traxxas makes good products
Really nice job of editing! I like it 5/5. Also the blue body looks really good. You should put this as a video response to my summit introduction vid that way people can see different colors in action. Once again great job on the editing. Nice work!
Amazing really good music and video :) thumbs up

Canon HV30 and I used both iMovie and Final Cut Pro to edit the footage.

the EREVO body will fit on the SUMMIT
you just lower the body mounts and thats it. The EREVO has the same body mounts as Proxy-Connection:
