I really love the original, haven't seen this one, though. I don't really like what they've done with the plot line (based on this trailer). I mean, why did they have to change the main character to a girl? It just feels like they're trying to make it into a slasher or something. I liked the concept of John Ryder obsessing over Jim rather than a teen girl, It had a different feel to it entirely. But again, I haven't seen this one. Is it any good?

@DanimationMovies I've seen the remake and I really enjoyed it. The acting was all in place, there's some great cinematography, a cool soundtrack and the truck scene in the remake makes you squirm. If you ask me, the remake deserved some credit and I would recommend it.

The actors were awful, the story changed way too fucking much that it gave me brain damage, the script was cliched as fuck and the the ending was pathetic with the bitch who did nothing throughout the film kill the antagonist. didnt explain anything about the characters or the villain, almost every scene was completely laughable and unrealistic, the "horror" parts could be seen from 200 miles away, hollow villain and no real good kill scenes. nothing absolutely AT ALL to be taken away from this pile of garbage its a soulless joke of a movie that fails on every aspect that can be failed when making a movie. everything a horror fan wants from a movie or bad movie arent here in any form. how can anyone like this?

Did you watch both this one and the 1986 original with Rutger Hauer as the hitcher. Sean Bean did a really good job but there was just something about RH that scared me and made me believe he was more of a Psychopathic killer. I find myself laughing when they put their guards down in the scene when the Station wagon passes them and frog waves out the back window. When he moves the head he's wearing a big smile and they start flipping out trying to warn the family riding with Sean Bean.

You might want to get rid of him pretty quick as those 2 comments are not good signs. The third would be that he is not really married even though he has a wedding ring on. When he says it helps him be more trustworthy with strangers, that should be your sign to throw him out of the car as quick as possible!

the worst scene in this movie is when the the guy (not ryder forgot the name) gets ripped apart buy the trucks right down the middle..... a lot of thing weren't right in this movie i.e. u'd have your arms ripped out first, can't break your thumb to get out of handcuffs, then slit the guys throght wide open (and i mean about a inch) with them,and prob wouldn't be able to take out a copter pilot with a little ass pistol....and more other than that i liked it
