This is because a bowling ball is made with a heavy spot to compensate for the finger holes. Now if the heavy spot is facing away at the top of the hill, it gives a greater lea way for speed allowing for more wins

The bowl most roll over the hill and then stop behind it. But is difficault because you throw always harder so then he comes back.
