  • I saw one of these in Cavendish PEI this weekend! It was interesting enough to make me look it up!

  • Fucking nature

  • I caught one of these when i was 12 and I thought I had made some sort of groundbreaking biological discovery. now that I'm 18, it's a little disappointing to find out that it was just a run of the mill pelecinid wasp.

  • it is said that it will stick that long tail into men's penis and lay eggs in there O.o

    LMAO JK

  • I just caught one and released it outside.

After doin g research I found out they're a good thing so if you find one DON'T Kill it.

  • woh

  • Just for the title's sake, Pelecinus are wasps, Ichneumonidae are sometimes referred to as scorpion wasps, and Mecoptera are scorpion flies, which do not look like this...you have a wasp in the video.

  • ok super dork

  • just trying to be of assistance.

  • You're right. A better title for this video is "Scorpion Wasp - American Pelecinid"

  • I've only seen one of those as an animated picture in a book. Pretty neat :D.

  • what

    the

  • I Have Thos Where I live!

    Quebec-CANADA

    THEY HURT!

    :O

  • looks like it was flying without moving its wings...... haha, thats hokey! looks either dead suspended from a string or just fake.

  • It is sitting on the glass on the outside of the window. I am filming from the inside.

  • It still looks cool weather its real or not, but I'm leaning on the real side. But you do have to admit it isn't moving its wings , its just staying still, weird.

  • This is a female adult of Pelecinus polyurator. It belongs to the family Pelecinidae in the superfamily Proctotrupoidea. It is not an ichneumonid wasp though it is a wasp. It has a very long abdomen and a tiny ovipositor at the tip. It can give you a mild sting. The long abdomen is used to dig into the soil and deposit eggs into white grubs, which are sometimes pests of grass. The larva (young) of the wasp then consume the grub from the inside. Very much like the beasts in the movie alien.

  • that's an inchneumon wasp

  • big shit

  • Oh Dios! no!!! me va a comer XDDDD excelente música

  • That is so fake! if you look closely you'll see the made in china logo. Good try! XD

  • That is so fake! if you look closely you'll see the made in china logo. good try! XD

  • You're right.

  • lmao the music makes it so epic xD made me laugh pretty hard.

  • eooo,.....looks like it can kill me.....

  • i would run a fucking mile if i seen that

  • as somebody said previously thats a parasitic wasp which sometimes lays its eggs inside tarantulas while the spider is still alive...when the eggs later hatch the larvae feast on the spider....now im hungry

  • omg its a lepreachaun

  • more likely an Ichneumon wasp.

  • its a kind of a hornet.

  • hmmm well i guess a dragon fly has alot bigger wings then this guy, not sure what it is lol

  • dried up drangon fly

  • Definitely not! This guy was alive and kicking, just resting on the window for a minute. He flew off a few seconds after the video stops.
