  • im going to see peter playing with jeffrey lewis....amazong :)

  • @eaglestirreth Pete from the band is playing in Glasgow in January...

  • These guys were, are and always will be why the word, 'eccentric', was invented (Oh, I think I'd better include the Fugs in that statement, and it only goes to enhance my idea by mentioning that Weber was also in the band until December of '65, as well as the Rounders...Says it all really, huh?).

Thanks a million for the video, by the way. A gem.

  • here's to raising hell

  • wheres Robin Remaily!?!?

  • I love these guys. More people need to know the rounders.

  • heard dame fortune on an elektra sampler so went und checked them out here....sadly the bearded one smokes and doesnt mind being loud voiced in a public place.shame, might have liked him otherwise.

  • Saw the movie, to bad it could have been so much better if it wasent for the constant bitching, especially from Pete

I got to know what an ass he was as I used to take banjo lessons from him

  • @1canyonguy Can't agree with you more! Three cheers for Steve Weber, if it wasn't for him the music would have no rhythm at all. He was the coherent factor, and he alway's gets the bad rap. He's a wonderful man and deserves more than he's ever gotten. I got to play with him for a couple of years and I quickly began to love him. It's nothing but fun with him, and the pleasure was all mine!

  • haha

  • Don't bogart that joit

  • Actually that song was by The Fraternity Of Man I believe.

  • congratulations. today this video was selected by New Musiology blog archiving avant garde musics. check out Peter Stampfel of HMR on MySpace.

  • This is why youtube is so good.I mean how is a guy like me from Glasgow,Scotland ever gonna see these guys live in concert ???Here we get their history ,interviews and concert footage....All worth it's weight in gold.....Never mind all this rap rubbish....This is the real deal .....Thanks....

  • Here, here, man. The best part of technology is using it to get in touch with the past.

  • @eaglestirreth How great it is, mate!

  • The fact that these two are still alive is a freaking miracle

  • Amen.

    There's hope for us all.

  • I concur!

  • and let it be known The Fugs were doing rap in 1964!

  • In the late 60s all I cared about was watching Batman and the Flinstones in the afternoon and catching water skippers.

But I was on the planet in the 60s and I have never once heard of these guys until an NPR report I heard the other day talked about them.

  • My kind of crazy people!Where do I get the DVD?

  • Hooray Rounders

    (PU Robert Christgau)

  • Mega cool footage from the 60's.

Thanx. Got all them vynils recors from the

Holy Modals indianwarwhoop & stuff and Stampfel's Bottle caps band and, shoot,

that Cold Finger version of James bond theme

should be made into a video propaganda clip

    or something.

travel writer? My kind of violin too.

  • Damn, anyone ever tell you that you really gots a way with words...cool

  • The ice worms are nesting again!

  • These guys actually COULD fly.

  • YES! finally i found out who sang that "half a mind to have a mind". lovely!

  • Weber introduced me to HP Lovecraft when I lived next door to him--I will be forever grateful to this cat.

  • Talk about a blast from the past. This is great. No one did "Sea of Love" like these guys. Friends of friends.

  • Announcer: "These are the Holy Modal Rounders"

    Weber: "We know that!"

    LOL

  • Met you guys in Richford, VT. summer '76. Snock was living up over the bar downtown and we all ended up at the Abacorne House in Canada. I talked to Snock a couple weeks ago. He was on his way back out to the east coast.

Entertaining clip! Watching for the DVD!
