From Costa Rica, thanks, I really enjoyed it. Whem I was 17, this group cacht my attention, I stop of listen Hendrix, Beatles, Led Z..and start to learn about jazz, them comes Gillespie, Maynard F, Wes Montgomery and many more, and so my musical universe was open to new forms and styles. Clayton sound great like ever was, the bass player is secret war machine, well what more can I said, "suena de madre"(what a mother fuck...sound)....Mauro Fallas

This guy needs music lessons. I am a vocal trainer and if any of you know him have him come to see me. You can reach me through my youtube channel The Lungpipes.
@TheLungpipes Are you kidding? Domingo he isn't but who are you to judge? He has songs that are enduring... Toured all over the world etc.. Who are you? Lungpipes? never heard of YOU...
So grateful for this posting - knew Larry D early-mid 90s - & terribly sad when he passed. Met him through a close buddy who did guest vocals with a trio he played in at a couple of places in NY and Queens (all of them top notch musicians). His intro here takes me back - what a brilliant talent. Great to see him w/BS&Ts. Never thought I would hear him play again. Thanks very much!
Thanks, Jeffused. Larry is indeed greatly missed by all the members of BS& T who played with him; and, in fact, by anyone who ever knew him. I think it's safe to say that the "Larry DeBari Sound" will never be heard live again.
tijzekijs is correst, hannibalsmith83. The "Studio version" of The BS&T / Tony Klatka arrangement of "Gimme That Wine" is on the "Brand New Day" album.
Drumcam...I was one of those kids in the late 60s that knew about CSN&Y, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Dylan, Motown etc..but loving jazz when horns and guitars got together, my ears perked up.. CHASE and Weather Report..then CTA and BST and of course Tower of Power..EWF also..Phil Collins would "borrow" EWF horn section on his tours overseas. I take BST over Chicago for music...but CTA was anti war band in 1969 with Lamb Kath and Cetera had a message..Thanks for the Memories
You are very welcome, Burghjazz! Sounds like you and I were both "one of those kids in the late 60's." By the way, I checked out your awesome Freddie Hubbard link to "I Remember Clifford." Have you ever seen/heard Arturo Sandoval play that with the GRP All-Star Big Band? ( ...another awesome rendition of a great tune. )
Drumcam - thanks for posting this. My favorite song from one of the kickingest bands ever! Great performance. This is a band that is comfortable, confident and is finally having fun with each other, the audience and the music. Some people had the debate: BS&T or Chicago. I say both and add Earth, Wind & Fire in for good measure - each took their horns in a different direction but all are so tight and have left their indelible prints on music from the past 40 years and into the next 400.
Totally awesome postings! My compliments to you. Blood, Sweat and Tears is truly one of the best ever! Can you imagine the complexity of arranging all those instruments into one cohesive presentation?
thanks a lot for posting that live BS&T ! I can't find on the net where to buy the dvd of THIS concert, i even asked to North Sea Jazz Festival staff, they don't know... Do you have a clue Drumcam where i could find that ? producer or whatever ? txs a lot !
BS&T is 1 of the bests bands ever and the best & unique in its music ! SO ENJOYABLE !
My favorite late 60s/early 70s group along with the Beatles,Rolling Stones,Creedence Clearwater Revival,Steppenwolf,Three Dog Night,The Guess Who,Sly & The Family Stone,Janis Joplin,Rod Stewart & The Faces,Led Zeppelin,and Santana.
Favourite band of all time, just my luck the only time they came to Scotland in the 70's and the only time I have seen them live....Jerry Fisher was the singer NOT the master.
Just amazing vagif_seidov@mail.ru Write me everybody who loves such music

Well, you're right of course, and sadly that's the world's loss - sure am delighted to watch him play on the videos you've shared. Thanks again.

They still perform live. In fact, they are performing in Park City, UT this Saturday (July 4th).

I believe there is a studio version on the "Brand New Day" album (1977). Not as exciting as this one though!

Great performance!!! Thanks for uploading this!! The trumpet solo sounds much like Miles Davis in my opinion.
On what LP was the studio version?

Everytime I ever saw BS&T I was really disappointed... they never had the same energy as on their albums, but they're kickin' butt here... !

Thanks wonkavella. You're talking about the late, great, one-and-only, often imitated but never duplicated: Larry DeBari.

i like this version. very different from lambert hendricks and ross.
but, being a trumpet player this has a certain appeal.
