  • ya got to give it to him,

    it works!!

murphys law states, if its stupid but it works its NOT stupid!

  • not warm enough!

  • He's awaay......He's stuuuck...

  • @Blitz4000 Oh, but he can go downriver a lot faster! LOL I do admire the workmanship, though

  • The S engine is an intriguing alternative. Advantages are (potential) high efficiency, safety, quiet, high rel, low maint., low emissions; also can use many fuels, even corrosive ones. Disads: low power (so far) for size and cost. One can be built from simple items with little machining, as shown here, made from some kind of cans. S engines typically have to warm up before start/full power. I don't think this guy was trying to win any race, just a demo of a working homebuilt, very cool!

  • outstanding !

  • I invent the Future of Solar Light technology! There is nothing worldwide even come close to my Products! It saved 80%-90% of Material and Costs! It also can be used to grow up Foot! Full Waterproof, also and a complete Solar Revolution! SEE ALSO THE FIRST SOLAR LED FOOTBALL STADIUM LIGHTS! Have a look on my Chanel, if you like my Products! It is already Patent Pending! With my Invent its first Time possible to use Solar technology in Areas where they now Solar only from TV!

  • the engine is doing some work, you can see the turbulence from under the boat. give the guy some credit. this was a cool idea

  • Put a Hobie mirage peddle system in this... and go twice as fast!!! Human power!

  • but will it blend?

  • cool but you need a steam engine man get some speed :D

  • This is the fastest engine powered canoe I've ever seen.

  • off at the speed of smell !

  • Where was the heat source? Stirling engine works with external heat, but where is it in this video?

  • @lisikunique Ummm, read the description?

  • @lisikunique Heat is supplied to engine from propane gas burner located below the hot-caps.

  • @BikeisLAF

I\ve read the discription, but didn't actually see it...

  • @lisikunique see my vids & learn herbs like coriander, kelp, kale, lavender, cayenne, pine, maca ETC

  • @AntiVaccine2 what makes you think I'd like to know anything about those herbs? And why are you so sure I don't? Man, I'm russian and know lots of herbs and how to treat people with herbs, but herbs can never replace meds and some of vaccines...

  • @lisikunique Herbs are natural & wholesome whereas vaccines are often more toxic with mercury & other preservatives in them..same goes with pharma drugs..treat every case of disease precisely as you know best, herbs help keep the body strong, russian is hard to learn btw!

  • Coooool! But still, rowing would be faster........

    Likes!

  • i think your m8 went and put his foot on the whole idea of an engine powerd boat

  • Where does the engine take the heat from?

  • Maximum speed!

  • Let me save you some time :) 0:55

  • ... and a small boy and girl in a large pop pop boat cut him off.

  • Go agant a river flow with sterling canoe, like a boss!

  • Very nice job. Not the fastest, but its certainly quite cool.

  • how many candlepower is that engine?

  • Hold on

  • I think a pork and bean powered boat would be faster but you would have to eat the beans at least 2 hours before race to get maximum effect I think the last time i ate a good plate of beans I could have achieved low earth orbit with available energy.

  • Good project on bad application!

  • You know those little foam things that fit over a mic?

  • Doesn't appear to work.

  • top speed of a 1 km an hour

  • Its eintein?

  • more like an action figures cruise ship in construction!

  • I don't think the engine had anything to do with it's movement... looked way more like drifting.

  • very neat !

  • um nope

  • Good effort !!!

  • nice try grandpa.

  • @decentnation Then how did he pick up speed after leaving the dock? And how did he keep the speed, even when the rudder caused a ton of water resistance? Learn to physics.

  • @stealthtaco37 nice one. "learn to physics" lmao!! The guy slows down and eventually stops, not speeds up!

  • i love my grandpa...

  • A Hot Air Engine, imagine getting free power from all the political tripe that we hear every day from our government - by next year we could be "energy self sufficient"! Finally something that government could be good at.

  • It's a good thing the guy gave him a push start. I hope he has a paddle so he can get back to the dock.

  • @cliff0495 he does dont worry

  • i didnt know einstein had a canoe

  • I dont think this canoe was drifting using crappy engine, instead that was the kick (push) from his partner in this science fiction movie :)

  • @decentnation no dude fucking retards

  • lol that was trash

  • Drifting like a piece of drift wood...a duck can beat this boat.

  • I find this awesome!! good work ! find a way to make this faster and don't give up . thumbs up to bring support

  • Блядь я думал только русские носят сандали с носками...

  • "A powerful rope" These guys know their physics.

  • lol he will get stranded on that canoe, and starve to death.

  • Nice! I like to see that stirling engines can be used on the most pratical situations... Of course it's not an industrial one, but it has enough power to move the boat and that Mr. on it! XD Do you know how many power can it produces (you can tell me in horse power or watts... the i convert it on other units lol). Tkx.

  • I like how it almost stopped even after dude kicked it off. Motor going the whole time.

  • Was he in neutral?

  • well, it's a start... better than nothing...

  • Head wind is a bit of a problem.

  • Nice socks!

  • Red lining at 5 RPM

  • Nice looking motor.... I don't think a canoe is the place for it.

  • Exciting footage, the damn thing got going faster than I thought it would though, and was cool tech.

  • Does not work well under load, huh?

  • I hope he brought his paddle..........

  • Well,,,,,,,,,, If youre not in a hurry. :-)

  • take your fishing pole... i have a feeling you aren't going to be cruising upstream unless someone keeps pushing you...

  • horse power........more like fly power! (house fly, that is)

  • someones bored in their retirement

  • BOO you used a propane burner! i was initialy delighted to think that you somehow managed to utilize the heat differential between the water and the atmosphere

  • I'll get my skis.

  • i wanted him to tip over more than you know

  • He has too much time on his hands.

  • Just waiting for V-Tak to kick in, yo!

  • the push did it not the engine, lol

  • @kenboak G'day... Um, would one be the first here to say "What a Sterling effort !" ? It'll go a long way, in a long time..! Pity about the Propane, maybe Solar Concentrators, as an Alternative heatsource ?... I find Solar Thermal is an overlooked Aspect. Search 'Solar Thermal Ramjet' to see what I managed as a 5th-Order Design-Priority, while streamlining PV Panels for Highway-Speeds..! Search 'SunFoil Science' for the Raw Data. Ciao !

  • Great work congratulations

  • omfg slow down you fat asshole, no wake zone.

  • @kannabiz420

see dude that would have been funny if you didn't say fat asshole....fucking trolls or 12year olds

  • @xxblackwhitex i do what i want

  • amg fail

  • Why did he have to use heat from butane? Could he have used the temperature difference between the cooler water under the boat and the warmer ambient air temp? or that would not be enough of a temp difference to power the boat?

I was thinking before I read the description that the bottom of the pistons were somehow getting cold air from the water under the boat. Would that work?

  • I am building motors and here is an advice : Although the power of a piaggio ape 50 is low, 2,5 kw, it drives with 40 miles so build a transmission. And I am sure that you will be able to build a transmission if you were able to build the motor in the video. So good luck.

    .

  • Brilliant but where's ur life vest I'm

Really concerned ? And also flare n also

Fire extinguisher ? Please don't attempt to go throughout the lock out yo sea skipper your my hero ? Keep up the good work Britain was founded on people like you ? Pure geneouis

  • Kto Mi powie, gdzie ten silnik ma źrudło ciepła i gdzie jest podgrzewany?bo z tego co widze,to elent który ma być podgrzewany znajduje sie w wodzie, wiec cos tu jest nie tak...???

  • can I equip my starship with one?

  • HOLY SHIT!!! somebody tell him to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!!!

  • bad news is, the captain wants to water ski.

  • What's with the paddle? Have you no faith?

  • gay

  • Proof that Stirling engines unless powered by very, very, very high heat (such as directed solar), are next to useless. The power it takes to overcome the inertia it takes to spin the flywheel and make the compression strokes eats up any power used. You can see that at the end that he didn't even have the power to overcome the water currents.

  • @gymkhanadog

150hp Ford Sterling engines from the 1970's the current Kockums engines driving submarines auxiliaries and the Rider and Ericson engines driving all sorts of everything in the 1800's the current Whispergen units crank out good power for their size all used or use fuel in burners to heat the gasses.

  • so it is true what they say senior citizens althou slow and dangerious behind the wheel .... they still can serve a purpose....... DONT YOU GO DYING ON ME!

  • wow thats quick !

    NOT !!!

  • gotta start some where

  • Swimming with no arms and no legs is faster. And less aggravating .

  • some really board old men

  • piece of $#!t

  • "Canoe Powered Stirling Engine"

  • His hair adds the power of 1 Einstein

  • albert einstein 2

  • If i saw him driving this I would splash some water into his engine

  • He won first place in the annual "Haircut from Hell" contest...3 years running!

  • How does that compare in power output to burning propane at the same rate but in an internal combustion engine?

  • man this guys hardcore at that speed hes sure to die without a safety belt

  • Sweet set up. Great idea for those sunny days.

  • Red line is what? 65rpm's?

  • will it pull a skiier??

  • If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 mph you're gonna see some serious $%^t!

  • but doc how can we get back to the future

  • i want oe!

  • YOU GO EINSTEIN ! ! !

  • He better slow down before he kills someone!!

  • The canoe is just drifting. A fart produces more power.

  • @ginopunsalan i dont think it does

  • @ginopunsalan Adapt that machine with a big fresnel lense, and I would be glad to have it if I was adrift from a shipwreck. I don't think I would have enough farts to push me for weeks continuously, but maybe you do. That this engine runs of heat! that is what makes it amazing because you can use direct solar power, and it needs no fuel. And last I checked the efficiency from solar transfer to movement was better than solar panels to electric motor. The old man is trying something awesome.

  • @ginopunsalan That is the heat source for the Sterling Engine, the operator just hadn't warmed up yet/\.

  • yeap, we' ll sure beat the Germans now.

  • @2:03 you could see the wind pushing it backwards!

    Full respect to Bob power.

  • Great hobby gramps ! thumbs up !

  • I recomend a fourth cylinder and making sure the magnetic push and pull effects opperate in a wave like fashion. That way you'll have a constant energy flow. You can also consider using alternating high powered electro magnets and permanent magnets for twice the accelleration and power. However, if you decide to do so, I would recomend a bigger and sturdier boat.

  • I wonder if he would have gotten that far if he weren't kicked off.

  • i hope thats his lunch in the barrel

  • wow.... Man!! slow down, not so fast !!! you're gonna kill yourself ;)

  • I would prefere to paddle...its heaps faster.!!

  • Don't blink your eye. He rockets away fast and you may miss it. lol

Actually it's a step in the right direction. GOOD JOB!

  • another excuse not to use your body to power your canoe as if man today is not handicapped enough,. Good job.

  • It's definitely a stirling, but it's not really "powered".

  • imagine if it could work on the difference in temperature between the water and air! Perhaps the design should take these water air temperature differences into account

  • he will never be seen agin with no way to steer it

  • Can anyone imagine a person watching this video and thinking the canoe has no steering?

  • well that worked well then

  • no power, the push off is the only thing that got him going. Bit sad gramps

  • We gotta get to 88 doc...*gets coat*

  • He's away as he grinds to a halt and then the current sends him into reverse, "I say Holmes it's back to the drawing board next time we'll try a surf board" elementary my dear Watson elementary

  • he only moved from the momentum of someone kicking the canoe. stirling engine = worthless engine

  • Trash that pathetic thumper and drop in a Suzuki Hayabusa engine. Canoe will plane off at about 150mph. (wear helmet)

  • thats very awesome i salute you sir!

  • hey Doc....thats a new model of DeLorean DMC....good work

  • Thoroughly unimpressed!

  • what is the heat source for this build?

  • @ahut10 probably the lake

  • where is the heat source?

  • that thing is damn fast, be carefull dude.

  • I'll be sticking with my electric motor.

  • @girochin007 sails for me

  • @tnhl77 Mine too, but I have to use the electric motor to get me out into the river before putting up sail.

  • @girochin007 cool what kind of boat?

  • @tnhl77 Just an Old Town canoe with a sailing rig. I got it just to learn how to sail, but it's so much fun I don't think I need a dedicated sail boat now.

  • @girochin007 I plan on being a livaboard one day I want a catalina 30

  • @tnhl77 I used to look at the older ones on ebay, but I never liked the old Catalina floor plans... Don't know about the newer models, but I've always liked the Hunter floor plans better. If only I could afford one.

  • @girochin007 the hunters have inherent hull issues the cats are good heavy old girls that will hold up to it all

  • Great Pa, I Love This..

  • reminds me of doc from back to the future

  • You need a V8

  • James Mays Father...Captain Slow.

  • And he was never seen again...

  • yawn..........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • its nice to kno there are more frankenstines out there

  • BRAVO!!!

  • gramps out trolling for lake hoes

  • weeeeeee

  • hodjkiess!!!

  • Pretty cool, hate to have much more of a head wind though, you'd go backwards.

  • how about applying a solar operated stirling engine? :)
