As The M.T.A. cuts service in working class areas they make an extention where there are no residents. Oh yeah we have to cut service on the working class areas to provide for the new rich residents.
125 ft. below street level, won't the weight of buildings above crack the surface of the tunnel? Not a serious question, but I would like an answer. These tunnel boring machines are fine for other parts of the country, but New York? Won't water come flooding in from somewhere? If the tunnel collapses, won't buildings come crashing down? I saw some of this in a preview on some channel a year ago, and I thought "wow, a tunnel under a tunnel", the basic laws of physics say this is not possible.
@Aliendear no the machine is cutting rock and broing through solid rock. water is always a problem when you dig there are methods that keep the water out. the tunnel is baing line with concrete sleeve segmants and concreted behind it its all engineered to work think of the lining like a female condom keeping whats in it in it and whats out of it out of it.
