When the SH HD collection comes out for the PS3 I am SO getting it. I already own SH3, but I just want SH2, which I have never owned and might be hard to find now... Ha, back in mid-2007, I "rented" SH2 and I didn't take it back to the video shop for a WHOLE YEAR. They must have glitched up or something because I only got $2 in overdues. Oh shit, nostalgia is kicking in now... 2008 was such a good year...
Oh! I forgot! The "gem" is called the channeling stone. It looks like an ancient Egyptian scarab amulet. It's just sitting there in the convenience store in the beginning. You need to use it in 5 locations if I remember correctly, and then you get the UFO ending.
Also, you say the end boss is the Incubus in the comments? Is that what your guide calls it?
That was a very entertaining ride. I would definatley watch more like it. Please by all means, send me another message if against your better judgement you decide to continue with the Silent Hill series, pick up Parasite Eve 1, or maybe begin the Resident Evil series.
I can't honestly say that I'd remember to message you if I ever played any of those games, as they aren't planned in the immediate future (I have a few other games lined up). But feel free to subscribe, as you may like some of the other games, and then you would be notified automatically when I LPed any of the games you mentioned.
The Incubus is the name given by Konami. It's listed on the Silent Hill Wiki.
I liked the game, so I have nothing against you playing another non RPG-game in an LP. Although I agree that it wasn't scary or anything. I wonder if it is even possible for an LP to be scary (for me).
Why is Cybill saying: “Freeze!” and then shoots? Why “freeze” if you want to take out Dahlia anyway?
And Harry, Harry, this is not a way to hold a baby, especially if you are running! It would have been hilarious if he had just dropped it while running.
@jsgoku Nope. Pyramid Head didn't come around until the second game.
Haha! I think an LP could be scary, if I wasn't poking fun at the game (or if the person was so utterly horrible at the game that you wanted to poke your eye out with a fork!)
I don't know. I guess Cybil was trying to be a stereotypical cop?
Yes, would have been funny had Harry dropped the baby!
Yeah, I guess we've been spiritually playing along. Good way to put it, actually. It's much better when it's like a small group of people following a video, rather than 100s of comments. Feels more, you know, personal, and all that.
@SkeletalMunch Yeah. I like to interact with my audience, so I am glad that I don't have thousands of active viewers, for that purpose - if I did, I'd probably have to quit my day job to reply to everyone. Haha!
Navigated your way through Nowhere... Man, Nowhere always made me pull the walkthrough(s) out. lol. Such an annoying place, I'd ALWAYS get lost. You might not know this, but if you have no ammo, and you just run around the boss for a while, it automatically ends. lol. That Kaufmann/Lisa cutscene always creeped me out when I was younger.
@SkeletalMunch Really? The last battle ends if you run out of ammo? What, does Incubus die, or does Harry die? I've never heard of that. Strange!
Haha! I can imagine why the Kaufmann/Lisa scene would have scared you. I think the scene of her turning into zombie nurse was pretty sad/scary as well.
@eltaire lol, yes. Waste all of your ammo, for every gun, before the battle and then just dodge lightning for a while and it will automatically end. Cheap, huh? lol, and I LOVE the bad ending (or is it bad+?) where Harry is dead behind the wheel of his car. Cracks me up, best bad ending ever... the whole adventure was just a dying man's dream. I got that ending my first time completing the game and it was like a big "fuck you" from the game. Was hilarious.
@SkeletalMunch Then again, if you think about it, surely they wouldn't expect anyone to take on that last boss with the emergency hammer or kitchen knife. Whoa, imagine how tedious that would be.
@SkeletalMunch I don't think the Emergency Hammer, or the Kitchen Knife would reach Incubator or Incubus, so I can see the logic in that. But still, the boss just dies? Maybe it ran out of energy trying to kill Harry?
@eltaire Yep, it just dies, as if Harry killed it. lol. Ooh, the ending credits music is so good. Last time I completed it I had headphones on and I was like "this is nice..."
@SkeletalMunch Yeah, the ending credit music changes based on what ending you get. This music is the same as the music that plays when Lisa transform. D: It's a little sad. D:
@eltaire It changes depending on what ending you get? I didn't know that... I'm so familiar with the good+ ending music... I had no idea. And my bad ending play through was when I was like 10, lol, so I obviously don't remember. That's interesting. Look up a track called "She", they used it in the 1998 E3 trailer or whatever. I don't think it appears on the soundtrack but it is VERY Silent Hill-like. It's good.
@SkeletalMunch Yeah, I am pretty sure that it changes based on the ending that you get. Some of the music is vocal, and some instrumental (like the one played on the Good + Ending.)
Do you have a link to the track? Trying to look for "She" brings up a lot of garbage on YouTube. D:
@eltaire lol, look up "Silent Hill She", and you'll see a whole bunch. Really good track, I don't recall it playing in the game, but it's still on the soundtrack... Hmm. Anyway, I am off to bed now. It's late. It was fun commenting on your vids. Have a good night. See ya later. And listen to that song, it's really good.
@eltaire Ahhhh, apparently "She" plays in the Bad+ ending, according to the title of one of them. No wonder it seemed like it was not in the game. lol. Anyway, talk to you later. Bye.
@eltaire Oh yeah, so the theme to THIS ending is "Tears of...", I never knew the name of it until now. Such a sad and moving piece of music. That, and "She" and the theme of this game are the 3 best pieces of music in this game, imo. lol, I'm really off now, I just got real excited because I found that "Tears of..." track. Random question, do you like "Save Before you Quit" from SH3? I don't know how many times I've listened to it since 2003... I used to sleep to it (PS2 on all night). lol. Bye.
I think it's beautiful that you were less scared because we were spiritually playing along with you. It makes me feel good to have made your trip to Silent Hill more comfortable. Fuckin' beautiful, man.
I've also heard that SH2 is quite damned good. I've always kinda wanted to try it, but I never got to it.
For the next horror game you play, if you're not going to do SH2, I suggest you do something that is going to scare the fuck out of you this time. :) I think this was too easy on you. :P
Congratulations on getting another LP under your belt! :)
I agree with you not finding this game as scary as you did when you were younger. Saaame here. I do think the music and sounds were extremely effective in creating a creepy atmosphere, though. I give the sound 5 stars, for sure. The rest... I would have to play it to rate it.
I enjoyed watching you play Silent Hill, and I would gladly watch you play another horror game, granted that we can see what the fuck is happening this time! :P
Kaufmann actually managed to do something right in this game.
Lisa's revenge! Such a fitting end for the man who wapred her mind.
The first two silent hill games didn't put a lot of strategy into their final bosses. The third one is the first time I have seen a strategy that is more just than shoot, dodge, and chug a health drink when needed.
I have only played SH1 and SH3, but of those two 3 is my favorite. The gem is the item you need to get the UFO ending.
@Svenchen87 Yeah, if Kaufmann isn't there you end up fighting Incubator. D:
Yeah, I am glad that Lisa got her revenge on Kaufmann. I never really liked him.
I was actually surprised at how much easier the battle was in comparison to some of the other boss battles in the game. I guess it would be harder on Normal/Hard mode, of course.
Yeah, 3 is pretty freaky. Did you like watching me LP a horror game and is it something you'd care to see again? :D
@eltaire You are asking me if I would like to see you squirm and freak out as things pop out of nowhere to kill you? A sick twisted part of me would love to see that while my sane side sits back witha nice cup of tea.
It WAS very entertaining and it IS something I'd like to see again in the future.

I am glad you found this LP entertaining and I endeavour to create more as such. :D

@MrAnimeopera Incubator is the name of the last boss if the Aglaphotis isn't used against it by Kaufmann first.
Thanks for clearing up about the Channelling Stone. I'd heard about it, but didn't know that was what it was.
