  • That scene with the wolf was the best one! :D

  • Goood!

  • epic childhood moment :')

  • 1:30-3:00 epic, best part in the song, thumbs up if you agree.

  • I LOVED THIS MOVIE I THINK THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL THE OTHERS

  • "A dog cannot make this journey alone, but, maybe...a wolf can."

  • Sounds like Enemy at the Gates.

  • vaaaaa... this is verry amazing!!!!

    so cool!!! perfect!!!

    beautiful song!!!

  • Gosh I love this song!

  • Ahh, even more Childhood memories! This movie is a part of my Childhood, and always will be!!! <3

  • This was one of the great movies to grow up watching.

  • The greatest song in film history, a song that shows us all the qualities we can have, hope, courage and above all love and loyalty. Personally, I want this played at my funeral, Balto, you were a real hero, thank you.

  • When I was 7 years old I loved this film, I could relate to it so much. I was the poor kid in school and used to be bullied by this kid and his friends who liked the girl I had a crush on. Oh, memories ...

  • Wow. Okay, so Im ubsesed with soundtracks and balto so i listen to this a lot. I also have to take this half hour music class 3 times a week at school. Our teacher told us to write down how an instrumental song made us feel, and like, what we thought would be happening in the movie... Guess what song. "It reminds me of a dog. Maybe like, half wolf..." Goes into summary. Teacher is like 0_o howd you know!?

  • I remember when I first saw this movie. I thought that white wolf was the female dog Jenne and that it was a love story. Now, 9years later, I know the name of the movie I saw and the true meaning of this scene.

  • I love this movie! Its story is amazing and epic! This song is sure proof of it! That's why I hate the sequel. They took a movie as amazing as this, and just ruined it. It would've probably been TOLERABLE if they had kept Heritage of the Wolf. But they didn't. And it sucked. But looking past all that, the original Balto is, and will always be one of my favorite movies, hands down.

  • Coolest fucking wolf hands down.

  • I love all of the Balto movie's and all the song's and sound track's too!!!

  • 2:35 a very powerful scene

  • I love Balto and Aniu, though i didn't know her name or who she was!

  • Aniu I love baltos mother :)

  • I howl at the part where it should be Balto howling! I love this part!

  • I really wanted to hear that wolf howl

  • Bato's brave,he would do anything for saving those kids,he even risk his own life.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

  • 1:13 to 2:21 by far the best part of the song Would love to have that part of the song play at my funeral

  • "Let me tell you something Balto... A dog cannot make this journey alone... but.. mayne a wolf can."

  • @misskarls1 You do know that Blato was a pure bread Husky right? :/

Damn movies like to screw up real stories

  • @MountainFox51 yes I knew that. I just wrote what Boris said in that scene.

  • @MountainFox51 Haha. That's the one factual error you point out? Not the fact that Balto was raised as a sled dog, he was sterile (No Jenny, either, nevermind children), it was a relay, no musher was knocked unconscious, everything went to plan (they didn't get lost or stranded), and Balto's musher was actually horrified at the news because he thought the real hero was Togo (wiki Togo), though they both played vital roles.

But I love the movie anyways. It's a movie, not a documentary.

  • @Eagle1Division2 Half movie, half documentary about *whispers* my grandfather.

  • @XxChirikoxX Really? One of the mushers? That's amazing! O.O

  • @Eagle1Division2 I doubt... Not that I don't believe him, but the actual sled run took place in 1925... If his grandfather was old enough to be a musher at that year then he's probably like over a hundred years old... Makes more sense that he was one of the children who survived diphtheria epidemic. I don't want to just say things though, so don't take me seriously.

  • @XxChirikoxX Was he one of the mushers or one of the diphtheria survivors?

  • @asafk8 No, my grandfather is clearly the wolf-dog og legends himself, Balto!

  • @Eagle1Division2 well no wonder, it's unfair how balto got all the credit, togo ran most of the miles

  • @MountainFox51 nevermind the talking animals...

  • 2:39 ....wow. That's pretty powerful music!!

  • @CharmingCheyenne53 I agree.

  • he accepted he was stronger and faster because he was wolf but he proved he was dog by loyalty to man

  • It gives me chills no mater how many times I watch it :')

  • Balto has a statue for what he did.I think it was to hard for him after that biggest trial of his life,i mean it was to much. Then after the trial he had the movie and statue. It was all to hard for the dogs. They did more than enough and balto only got the credit. Its like balto was the only dog who madderd.i think balto died maybe a little early because he had to much preasure after that thing that happend.balto is the best dog who ever lived though.

  • @Danelledplpslover123 well its not like balto was the only dog to get a movie and statue because of how great of a dog he was. look up a dog name Hachi from Japan. he got the exact same things as balto

  • remember balto....a dog cannot make this journey alone.......but maybe a wolf can.

i put this video with a piano song and its wonderful

  • “You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him."

Balto is an idol of mine. He goes through such great hardship and constant diligence to save the children of a town that despises him, yet only gives in for a second before getting back up again. There's so much symbolism in this scene displaying the trials one goes through on the path to success, it's hard to remember it's a children's film.

Also, James Horner is great! Thanks for making this.

  • I've always oved themovie balto

  • I love Balto and this is my favorite scene, where he finally accepts his wolf heritage

  • horner you genius!

  • great video! thank you!

  • best song from an amazing movie!

  • "Sometimes I wish like crazy I was half eagle!"

    "Hah! Why?"

"Better profile for one thing... and no one eats you for another."

  • @IasKev LOL so right love that part

  • Balto hat mir gezeigt das es immer einen grund gibt weiter zu machen und nie auf zu geben, egal wie hart es manchmal ist. ich bin selbst ein ausenseiter und werde deswegen auch oft auf`s übelste beleidigt.

  • This makes me cry so much.

  • Too late fellas! The "let me tell you something" quote has already been given. No thumbs-up for you!

  • balto ispired me to never give up. and fight for my dreams

  • "Let me tell you something, Balto. A dog cannot make this journey alone. But, maybe a wolf can."

  • 'Let me tell you something Balto, a dog cannot make this journey alone, but maybe... a wolf can.'

  • Is Anui a living wolf? Or just the wolf spirit?

  • @Ketsuname Originally, "Aniu" was just the "White Wolf", an embodiment of the wolf spirit, who came to Balto to have him embrace his wolf heritage. Although, in the sequels, they made the white wolf Balto's mother, which was just an attempt to bring the white wolf character into another film. Personally, I think Balto should have been a stand alone film, and the white wolf being the spirit it should have stayed as.

  • @KazuKei22 I agree. I think it fits better as a more ambiguous concept. I like the idea that maybe in the cold, and Boris's words in his head, he realized who he was and embraced it when he was most hopeless.

  • The first time I watched this mvoie I rented it from a local library (only on vhs at the time) I watched the movie so many times in 3 days and to this day I still get chills every single time with the scene of Balto and his mother howling together. I even get teary-eyed.

  • I JUST LOVE IT, especially how the music tunes up at the howling with the mother.. too bad you didn't let the howl hear itself

  • best part in the whole vid 2:37 - 3:00 but only cuz at that part i can HEAR the wolves howleing in my head

  • Stunning.

  • i remember watching this movie so many times... so beautiful!

  • This movie literally makes me cry. I love it sooo much.

  • im 21 and i still watch that movie woohoo!

  • sounds like music from beauty and the beast

  • I-LOVE-Wolf I-Love-BALTO

  • the sound is a bit behind with the film otherwise great job! best movie

  • You didn't sync it right. The music starting at 1:06 should've been with the scene at 0:40. I suppose that's why you slowed it down

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone got rip from moment starting at 1:20? I really like that part

  • It's so funny how the other dogs make fun of Balto for being part wolf and when they think there are actually wolves around they freak out. -_-

  • I FUCKIN LOVE THIS MOVIE MAN!

  • The epiphany with the wolf, best scene of the film thanks to James Horner, truly epic!!!

  • chilling especially when you get to when balto meets the white wolf and they howl together

  • @gaaraxchocolate13 Cheesiness? What cheesiness? The first time I watched this scene (after more than 10 years of not seeing the film), I will (grudgingly) admit I bawled and had to instantly re-watch the movie.

  • Thumbs up if you shiver to this! :)

  • @zhred I felt so cold watching this movie!

  • One of the best videos on youtube :)

  • love this soundtrack and the vieo is great *_* everytime is see this scene, when he howl with his mother and then the music, i get goosebumps ^.^

  • @oONightmareAngelOo Or peoplebumbs as Boris puts it

  • OMG I'm 19 and still I have tears in my eyes everytime I watch this movie.

  • @Watawaytogo Same here, I'm 19 too and I love this film, I cry at loads of different parts throughout the movie (The scene with balto's mother and you here boris "A dog cannot make this journey alone, but maybe a wolf can") but I cry most when you balto comes running over the hill and howls when he sees the village. and also when you see adult rosie at the statue of balto saying "thanks you Balto, I would be lost without you"

  • @winday191 Iam also 19 years old and this makes me cry sometimes, the fact that part of this movie is a true story also touch my heart. Its like you want everybody in the world to know who balto is and how much this movie mean to us who have seen it as a child and of course for those who have seen it whenever where ever

  • The music is so beautiful I could cry

  • This song always, ALWAYS, gives me the chills. *shudders a bit*

  • @ChewbaccaTheMustafa Yes. Sorry for snapping.

  • @ChewbaccaTheMustafa Did I mention the name Don Bluth? No, I didn't. I said it was a beautiful movie. Read my actual post!

  • @cbaird62

I was very hard to get without buying the soundtrack but I ended up somehow getting it online when my computer still had the jukebox player at someones tribute to Balto website. With a little computer programming I was able to convert it into an MP3 file to be readable with iTunes (I did end up also buying the soundtrack if anyone is suspicious)

  • This song is haunting...

  • saw this movie when I was like 4 years old..... 11 years later this movie is still cool.

  • Stunning!!!!!

  • i love this video. you timed the music perfectly with each scene..... good job it was beautiful, and just downright amazing.

  • YEAH

  • im with alexa that....was just beautiful

  • I love balto it was always my favorite cartoon and always will be =D

  • Balto was my favorite movie from my childhood. I remember loving the scene where Balto howls with the white wolf. This music captures the moment -perfectly-.

  • @alexa38 omg that was one of if not my favorite scene

  • @alexa38 I've got the 3-DVD-Box, but at home i have the VHS(since 1997 - when i was 7 jears old) and now i'm 20 jears old ... and i still watch it. It's a great movie and it is a part of the american history (True Story of 1925).

  • @alexa38 - omg could not have said it better myself, Balto and the lions king <3

  • @alexa38 I agree. I think it turned out that the white wolf was his mother. Can't remember though.

  • i love this music. it just captures the beauty and majesy of the animal...

  • Oh my gosh, words can not begin to express the feelings I get when I listen to this song. It's so hard to explain. I'll probably even sound like a psycho here but I remember the very first time I saw this part of the movie, it was like something changed inside me. Now, years later and this is still my favorite movie. That whole scene from 1:20 - 3:00 is just, a part of who I am, it encapsulates everything about me. I hear myself humming it all the time. I will forever and always love Balto! <33

  • i get chills all up my back every time i hear this.

  • 1:34 it's sooo beautiful *___*

  • ya the sound of sparkles and his mother :D

  • this music is so beautiful

  • Boris gets all the good lines =/

" A dog cannot make this journey alone, but maybe a wolf can"

"Not a dog, not a wolf, he only knows what he's not but if only he could see what he is"

    and my personal favourite

" Im seeing a few things too and its making the ice melt" haha

Back to the song IMO the best epic scene song for an animated movie!!

  • lol my fave line is when he says "oh no i am begining to understand the bear"

  • I like this music!!!:)

  • This is amazing and so beautiful <3 Balto is a hero <3 My dog look just like him :)

  • was the wolf he howled with his mother? I never was able ti figure that out

  • They hint that it is in the seqel, but personally I think that the sequel is an insult to the masterpiece that is this film. I believe that the white wolf is an unnamed character that is meant to be left as a symbolic representation of Balto's "inner wolf", an inspiration to remind him of his roots. Not some "magical mystery", like what they pull out of thin air to make the second-rate second movie. That's just my opinion, but I do fully stand by it.

  • @TommyGavin5 yeah you´re right^^ it was his mother, but balto doesn´t know it at this time... his mother´s name is aniu^^

  • Balto didn't know. Well, hell neither did I...

  • AniNu

  • yes thats his mother

  • yes its his mother

  • yep it was, but he does not know that. but in the second one he finds out ^ ^

  • Hands down the best soundtrack ever in a drawn movie.

  • ohmann die Stelle mit seiner Mutter , also der weißen Wölfin, bewegt mich immer wieder sie ist soo schön :') <3

    ich liebe diesen Soundtrack <33

  • James Horner! One of the best Song Writers on the world!

  • When I was at the zoo I thought of the moive and so I did some wolf call's when we were near the wolve's then all of asudden people started coming from both way's saying I heared them I heard it when in fact I stood there looking down at the wolve's as they came walking over looking up it was scarey but so cool at the same time!

  • kann mir jemand die noten vom dem musik stück besorgen weil ich finde irgetwie keine dankeee xDD

  • balto ist der beste auf der welt

  • I can still hear the sound of the wolf calls... I saw this movie when I was 6, and wolves became one of my favorite animals after hearing the sound of those calls send chills down my spine. And this song fits the scene so well.

  • i only have the first 30 seconds, but it sounds gud. HEY! i could do my fist youtube vidoes on this!

  • OMG! tat is one of my favorite songs! As a mater of fact, i'm trying to play this on my flute. sadley i have to play by ear so im having fun.........
