HA! When I read "u are fucking..." I was totally expecting you to tear into me in some way, so I was pleasantly surprised how that ended. Thanks, man.
even machida didn't think he won? where did you get that from? from what i heard in his post-fight interviews, he thought he won the first three for sure.
That's a far cry from proof that Machida thought he lost the fight. Regardless, immediately after a fight it's hard for a fighter to know exactly who won which rounds. it's totally natural that it would take time to give a clear answer. Also, it would make sense that Machida had hesitations since he definitely did lose those last two rounds-- that must have left the final impression even in his own mind. But anyway, neither of us made headway in the race to 100. I'll post the results again:
I posted a longer version of the update on your video, but for some reason it doesn't let me repost it here. We went 2-2 (I got Machida/Struve, you got Kingsbury/Rivera). So the scores are:
Rampage did it with Shogun's brother. There was no belt, but he was immediately vocal about his believe that he lost the fight and shouldn't be awarded the win.
It's all he could do.
But he did it.
And I've seen others do it.
And the "honorable Karate Kid" could've done the same.
Exactly, regardless of what Machida might be saying now, his initial reactions were to deflect the questions and talk about the judges. The only people I have found who think Machida won are either friends of Machida or Machida fanboys.
You know, following this new train of thought that they're now espousing about you have to completely dominate the champ in order to become the champ... well, In that case Rampage would still be the champ. So basically he's leaving with the belt. I mean where was this shit when Forrest barely pulled out a victory over him?
I completely and utterly agree with everything you said mate, Shogun is an amazing and still relatively young fighter, who Machida and should be the Champion, i said from day 1 Shogun has the skills to be the #1 fighter in the whole UFC behind maybe Anderson, the one thing we know is there is a Rematch on the way.
I agree with everything you said. This "to be the champ you have to beat the champ" bullshit. How about, if Machida wants to keep his belt, he needs to prove he still deserves it.
And I as well doubted Shogun as well. I never liked Machida, his fights against Tito and Thiago were both boring, but he easily beat Thiago and Rashad. And Rua did poor against Griffin and the Coleman fight sucked, wasn't impressed by KOing glass-jaw Liddell. But Shogun won hands down, Stevie Wonder even seen it.
You know it's funny that they just started talking about this 'to be the champ you have to beat the champ' on saturday night, as if they knew beforehand that Lyoto would be winning a decision. If this line had any merit whatsoever, Griffin would have never taken the belt from Rampage.
yeah i mean, machida pulled that victory out of his ass..... i mean this was like in pride 29 with murilo vs rampage, but except.... rampage knew he lost and showed class, and even tryed to give the gp trophy to murilo, shit the first thing machida brought up was winning and judges... to be honest, i think shogun showed more power and pretty much, showed that machida is human just like everyone else, and the hype should be over.
and what im assuming is, this is going to be one of those fights, like a 3 fight rematch, basicly one losses one wins and the 3rd fight will count, kind of like chuck vs randy, where they fought three times, even thou shogun should have that belt right now and that win on his record, and machida's first loss.and what im wondering is, why is machida even on the p4p list? the list of fighters shogun has beat.... is wayy more then machida, and lyoto to be honest, has maybe 2 notable out of 4.
I saw somebody refer to Shogun as the peoples champ. I think that's quite appropriate. Have you seen the UFC 104 post-fight conference? Everybody who was asked said that they think Shogun won... well everybody except for Machida of course. He deflected the question and started talking about the judges again.
yeah i saw it, and lol at machida talking in brazilian, when he wins, he talks in english, so basicly... i think hes nervous and knows he really lost the fight, and that hes pulling that judges excuse out of his ass, he knows he lost,
i f'n luv it - u shogun nuthuggers 4got its "THE MACHIDA ERA!!!" WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO -goldbergs last words : " 2 BE THE CHAMPION AND BECOME THE CHAMPION U MUST "CLEARLY" BEAT THE CHAMPION !!!!!
u fuckin machida nuthugger ur pee drinkin chimp got cut up legs punshed midsection bruised the mahchichek era is over lol the judges saved his sorry as ha ha ha SHOGUN THE REAL LH CHAMP
Didn't get to see this, was this a worse robbery than Bonnar vs. Jardine? Sounds by all accounts like bullshit. Good point on having to pay for this, Dana should make this rematch for free on Spike TV like Shamrock/Ortiz.
I'd say yes just for the fact that it was 5 round title fight. I mean, hell... you could only argue 2 rounds for Machida and that's if you are really stretching in his favor. I do think due to the public outrage we'll see a quick rematch. Wait until you see it, man!
I think the outrage that this has garnered will definitely give us a speedy rematch. I'm considering buying Shoguns walkout shirt just as a little way of showing support.
the MMA world is united in outrage over the outcome. Cecil Peoples was one of the judges, who used to be a decent ref. his calls on some fights have been questioned (even before this fight). Cain beat up Rothwell pretty good...Rothwell was still getting up when the fight was stopped, but the ref had seen enough
i didnt hear the commentary since i was at Staples last night, but im sure you could have heard the booing on the PPV afterwards. i wanted Machida to win, but my immediate reaction was surprise when they announced he won instead of Shogun. i looked at the CompuStrike scores online and it looks pretty convincing (numberswise) that Shogun was superior. Machida finally looked human and took some actual punishment. im going to rewatch the fight again before making a final decision, but it seems
I replied to 916Chris about how many Machida fans were blaming Joe Rogan's commentary for everyone thinking Shogun won the fight and how people at the venue couldn't hear Rogan yet were outraged at the decision. Thank you for this. I've also heard from people who watched the fight in other countries with different commentators who also believe that Shogun won.
Good to see you back talking mma man.

3 were in Machida`s corner.
The other three were judges.
I agree.
Even Machida didn`t think he won!

Rogan - "Do You Think You Won The Fight?"
Machida - "Three judges did. So, I did."
It took 48 hours before he finally manned up and just plain lied and says he thinks he was "superior."
There were about 5 articles before that where he was interviewed and not ONCE said he thought he won. He just kept pointing to the "three judges."
But anyways....
What's the score?
Did anyone gain any headway in the race to 100? I can't find that post of yours.

I will not be paying for another UFC.
MAAAAYBE I will pay a $5-10 cover charge to watch it at a local sports bar.
This fight makes me KNOW that the UFC is fixed. Machida MAY have won 1 round. but he deff. did not win 2.
Couldnt they have at least called this as a "DRAW"? I mean.....come on.

Something needs to be done about the scoring system and about having judges with a deep MMA knowledge, and as weve seen its pretty damn urgent!!!!!!!!
Too damn often do we get complete ludacris scorecards, its like they hardly even watching the same fights.
Come on UFC come up with a complete guide to scroing fights, one that is very very concrete, one that leads nothing out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please do it cause Im sure most mma fans are dead tired of bad judging.
