  • can i use a transducer

  • Thank you you wonderful person, I'm down to Maplin, can't wait to make mine :)

  • I think somebody is trolling. It sounds way too good.

  • why when i tried this it didnt work?

does the amp have to be on a certain setting

do i need a certain piezo?

    i bought a 3.0 20VDC

    12DC

    10mA max at 12vDC

    75db min at 30cm/12VDC

    2700 500HZ

    idk why it didnt work

  • subbed

  • Neat! Sounds better than some more expensive ones I've heard.

  • great vid , but the sound is a midi drum , really.

  • thanks for the video info dude!! really usefull! :)

  • your video is clear, clean and pretty, that's the way it's better than great part of youtube videos

  • Sounds like a kick drum! You should make them and sell them on Ebay or your own website.Seriously!

  • Thank you so much. I build two of these boxes and they work brilliant. My girlfriend, who is an irish traditional tap danceruses them to amplify har dancing, by taping them on the stage. The sound is perfekt an the cost was less than 2 euro So cheers for the great idea. I am a do-it-yourself-musician to, watch my doubleneck mandolinguitars in my videos!

  • if u make 2 of these, that sound woulkd be excellent for metal double pedal work!!! niiicee!!

  • I think this is the best movie of the year and should be put up for an Oscar, I have dial up and went threw 5 whiskeys and cokes watcing it, this is great the music, the directions, I laughed, I cried, I was so there threw the hole thing, thank you I hope to make one of these stomp boxes someday, so my wood board can be retired and i can have the sound of a real bass drum

  • Can't find the specified yu85g piezoelectric buzzer in the US. Any chance you would send me a couple to the US? email... wizard171@live.com thanks for your consideration, Wayne

  • Please: I didn't understand the conncetion of that wires. Can you explain me? Thank you!

  • Please: I didn't understand the connection of the wires. Thank you!

  • Hello great sound :)...cant you just use regular jack cable (guitar cable)?

  • Try it with a normal speaker. An old 1-2W TV-speaker will do the job..and have deeper bass sounds, but it needs a larger box.

And it will not hurt your amp with the capacitance load, because the speaker is an inductance.

  • @zenobia88 So i would turn the speaker into a mic? im trying to think of a new design any help would be good :) thanks

  • @DJSt00GE Yes, and build a small preamp too for the speaker. There are many schematics on the web, with small size, low price, but higher quality, last time i used a TL071 -based preamp, and it needs just a 9V battery, and a couple of small caps, and resistors..My stompbox is an extremely large one, because it's have two chambers. The smaller contains the preamp, speaker, and accoustic stuffing. The another larger chamber is the 'drum'-part. The speaker placed between the two chambers.

  • THANK YOU BUDDY!!!!!!!!

  • Were did u get ur piezoeletric buzzer

  • @cordaleb a hardware shop called maplins (read the description box for a full link etc...)

  • @cordaleb they also sell them at radio shack

  • Love it! so easy... and the video is nicely put together too! I built one using and old guitar pickup... sounds pretty good but its bulky, gonna try one like this!! Thanks~

  • Hi I made the stomp box like yours but I just keep getting loads of feed back, and it needs to be turned up really loud, any ideas

  • Why does yours sound so much better than everybody else's? Did you use a special piezo?

  • @xCommonGoodx well I think it's a combination of the fact that I'm using a bass amp and that I was lucky with the natural sound of the wood. (btw, when I made this video I only had soft plimsoles so I actually taped two small pieces of wood to the bottom of my shoe - this may help?) If I can be of any more assistance don't hesitate :)

  • Hey, love the sound you're getting out of this. I'm having a look on maplin.co.uk, which one of the piezo transducers did you use? There's several models on the page you linked.

  • @haraldcarlens hi, sorry for the late reply. For this particular stomp box I used the YU85G 35/2.8 model for £1.29. I did however buy a selection of different sizes to use in different projects. Good luck in whatever you're undertaking!!

  • Can you find a piezoelectric buzzer in like speakers or some type of electronic device or do u have to buy one?

  • @TheSuperwerre sorry for the late reply. In case your question still needs answering; no, these cannot be found in speakers but can be found in some electronic tuners for acoustic instruments. I do recommend just buying a couple though as they are ridiculously cheap!

  • At what volume/gain level do you have your amp?

  • @jarodbmx

Hi, it is an old Gallien-Krueger 100V Valve Amp with the volume on about half. Hope this helps.

  • what is a Piezoelectric buzzer?

  • @sarerah

sometimes called a Piezo transducer - they're basically really cheap electrical components available from any hardware shop that convert vibrations into audio signals. Click on the link in the info pane to find where I got mine.

  • Cool!

  • @izjustagirl

    thanks!
