  • I want this video on my i610 phone.

  • I remember reading an interview with him around the time this came out, he said all he listened too then was Sade. Shows, in a good way. One of those producers that just sort of lost ground, he had a nice notion of form and sound that few people do, in any genre. Oh, and his drums and bass were always spot on. I wish he had made more of this style and 'final approach'.

  • Great tune, one his best for sure!!

Cheers for the upload, Excellent quality:))

  • been searching a month or so for this song, and when the vocals finally start at 4:16 its epic!

  • This a GEM.

  • the problems drum and bass face today is.... no body works on beats anymore.. its all about wobble wobble rahhhhhhhh.. fuck that.. we need some well thought out break patterns and percussion . listen to the drums on this track.. fantastic!! better than same old two step shit we hear on 99% of tracks these days

  • i find it implausible that 5 people could genuinely dislike this.

  • Even if the sample is straight outta cd, it takes a lot of vision to use it to such depths. Really before u start making music you think, 'oh its a sample, easy...' but truth is doesnt matter how good a sample is, youve got to make it yours, and create a track. Especially in a tune like this

  • J Majik... releasing new material on Metalheadz 2011.... Finally going back to his roots.

  • pff

just enjoy the tune ffs, its a great one

i dont care if its sampled or not if i like it i like it

    simple as that

  • 1 word: BEAUTIFULL

  • lovley tune.... really chilled and hypnotic

  • Back then he was great, and young too. Metalheadz=Every Track a Classic

  • this music delivers me to the edge of space!:D

  • was just digging out some old cassette mix-tapes my mate made me in '97 and was so good to hear this one again ;) nice one!

  • Awesome tune. Really tight and smooth. Would go well mixed with some LTJ style Liquid DNB.

  • I love the vocal only after 4mins of playing

  • Beautiful feel. Much better than his post 90's tunes, or virtually anybodies post 90's tunes for that matter LOL.

I hope the pads were his idea and keyboard-work, and not just a sample CD job, cos they bring the track to life proper, you get taken away.

  • I can't help it, but I'm sometimes disappointed when I learn that a particular melody or sound was actually sampled instead of built from the ground up. I don't know if that's silly or not, but... meh.

  • I dont think its silly, lets hope this is an example of a fully original track!

  • Ha ha now thats the talk of a pair of producers :) I too have read about some disappointing sampling. However there are many ways you can see it. If a track is a complete sample job, thats no worse than using a load of 'clean' presets from VSTs etc. If the artist has crate digged and found a sample that is reiterpreted creatively then I dont mind as much. Given the latter would involve more work. Fair comments though and I miss the Golden era too. Try artists like Paradox, Seba, Solar, Nucleus.

  • "If the artist has crate digged and found a sample that is reiterpreted creatively then I dont mind as much."

    I'm with you on that.

  • @automap it's actually very normal I find myself that tracks with melodies built by the artist/composer are way better then tracks that use pretty much just samples

  • @DjBloodsaw

Heres a man (or lass?), who knows what it means to actually CREATE something, rather than simply arrange a collection of nice samples (which still takes a keen ear). For the same reason I can never bring myself to use samples, Im too creative, plus, when the next guy makes a tune with the same samples, you cant say sh*t, because its samples haha.

  • @ncshuriken rither way, he created a masterpiece

  • @futurepast1

This is true, it dont matter whether you smoke weed or binge on wife beaters or your a dirty coke-head who takes lines off toilet cysterns, its a masterpiece of spine tingling sonic junglist mystification.

  • @ncshuriken Couldnt have said it more poetically myself, I can see by the use of your words that you dont sample, not even random noizes of the world?

  • @futurepast1

Well theres a couple of exceptions sometimes. Like if I make a jungle tune, I'll almost definitely use a drum loop, but that loops gonna get tailored and cut up exactly how I want it, I love making complex mind bending drums (like Source Direct or Remarc), and vocalists are hard to come by, so I'll try to find nice little soulful adlibs and oooh's and aah's n that (they can fill a hard to find gap). In terms of random noises, I'll take samples off games, or make them with synths

  • J Majik is absolutley sick just downIoaded the new drum and bass anthems album free from bassline. org with him on and it NUTS!

  • killer track

  • i wish drum n bass was this good still. this is pure genius.

  • well done!!!

  • delete yourself.

  • This is J Majik at his finest.

  • The Luke Skywalker of break-beatz.

This is when D 'n' B was at it's best.

    I miss those days.

  • billbeanhat . .

you my friend are sooo correct. Back then the Metalheads crew, LTJ, Adam F were defining D 'n B.

  • love this tune, def prefer his old stuff, but at least he makes all styles and seems to do it all very well judging by the amount of radio 1 airplay he gets..what happenned to the rest of the headz kru are they still making music or doing gardening or something?

  • its gone a bit awry.

  • This is the bomb-diggity sir!

  • aww yeah. this tune hits the spot. :) sick.

  • omg this is hilarious tune!!! big up for uploading

  • One of the best if not the best tune ever made :))

  • Brilliant build up to the song... how it finishes is intense... one of my fav DnB songs period...

  • Word. I get goosebumps when the vocals slip in near the end.

    This tune is eternal.

  • This is one bad fucking tune!!! I got this on platinum breaks but the first time i heard this was in the blue note at hoxton sq. Metalheadz sunday sessions.... it blew my mind.... Those were the days man.

    one!!

  • I got this song from in "in order to dance" on the r&s records. They are complilations of lemon d, dillinga, peshay, etc... They are the originals...more jazz, tunes you can put on without pissing the missus off!!

  • welcome to the jungle! :)
