Oh ok I apologise then. The corvette is a purpose built performance car that cost "almost" twice as much as a standard gt. It doesnt fall into the same class as the mustang. Number one, the mustang is a true everyday car with 4 person capacity and a pretty spacious trunk. I have a 06' GT, and i have no complaints about the live rear axle, it handles wells at corners, i personally raced with a Z' don't know if it was M/T or A/T but he did not catch me at all he stayed like a car behind me and STI's not even close. I will never change my stang for an import.

I think Ford has done well with the 2010 Mustang, from what I've read and seen. I think it has a good chance against the Camaro, and even the Challenger. I am still mad about the 315HP though, but I hear they're bringing back the beast 5.0L, that might just save the Mustang from its own embarrassment. Yes, Corvettes used to have HORRIBLE susp, and even really bad transmissions, but they did a lot of research and fixed it to make it superb. Ford needs to work on the Mustang even more.
Ohh totally, I really believe Ford could make a car that would compete with the ZR1, they just really need to focus. The GT500 was a mistake in my opinion, however the 2010 GT500 is supposed to have MAJOR improvements. I don't really care about a car that handles, if I wanted a track car, I'd buy a 350Z or a S2000. Everyone thinks the Ford GT was made to compete with the corvette, it was not. It was simply a collector car made for the 100 years that ford has been in business.

The Mustang IS getting the 5.0L V8 bitch, and its also gettin an eco-boost V6. and the reason sti's and evo's beat Mustangs is because theyre lighter, and have better traction. But add a turbo or a supercharger to the Mustang with the same amount of boost, the sti and the evo wont stand a chance.

Each person is different. People come to their own conclusions when buying a car. Mustangs are cheap muscle...that's all some people need. Both the old Mustang and this Si are around 22K. I've never driven an Si so I can't be too Harsh, but your Video shows a 0-60 of 6.5 seconds, while the 2005 GT does it in 5 flat. So, I imagine that the new one will do it faster.
Dam ur dummer than i thought. 4 ur info, the 350z is also lighter, and it seats 2 people. The Mustang is heavier seats 4 people, and has a good size trunk with better safety featers 2. Not 2 mention the aggresive V8 exhaust tone. Plus the driver on the 350z has to b very good to take out a Mustang. I've taken out several 350z on my '04 GT.

But the new 6.2L hurricane engine is in the cards for 2011possibly. Along with a 350 HP twin turbo V6. The 2010 cars are to tide you over until an all new model comes out in a few years that can compete with Dodge and Chevy.

V8's are better. Formula one uses v8's and all the best supercars in the world have either v8's or v12's. Those new civics are nice though and they definately have a purpose. Ford had a 550 hp car a few years ago. The Ford GT. at the time it was a mid engine car that smoked cars twice as expensive as the ford GT, the GT prize was like 150k. Lets not forget that the KR is based on the mustang GT, which is a muscle car. I am sure that if ford wanted to make a 70 K car it would perform better. Unfortunately the KR is based from a $30 k car. the GTR took years of development and here is the difference.
the 350z has always been more expensive than the mustang GT. plus the mustang offers a trunk, and 4 seats instead of 2. I like most of the cars you mention, but you have to understand that every car has a different purpose. the KR purpose is different than driving a GTR for example. performance is not what all people want from a car.

Yeah, the last car to have common rear wishbone suspension was the model T. Even that was a step higher because that was in the front end, and it had independent rear. I don't know what the hell Ford was thinking when they made that decision.

It's true! Ford released the specs on the 2010 Mustang. Google 2010 Mustang. The 4.6 gets bumped to 315hp/340lb.ft., same lame ass v6. The stock suspension is common wishbone rear, and an option for a "performance" rear axle for an extra $1000. They also ripped off a feature from BMW for their stability control. Touch of a button puts the stability and traction control in "sport" mode to allow for "more spirited driving".

Oh ok I apologise then. The corvette is a purpose built performance car that cost "almost" twice as much as a standard gt. It doesnt fall into the same class as the mustang. Number one, the mustang is a true everyday car with 4 person capacity and a pretty spacious trunk. The main reason it accelerates harder is b/c of the weight it has b/c of the extra seating and its pony car design. As for the nissan GtR its got 4 wheel drive!! I have a 06' GT, and i have no complaints about the live rear axle, it handles wells at corners, i personally raced with a Z' don't know if it was M/T or A/T but he did not catch me at all he stayed like a car behind me and STI's not even close. I will never change my stang for an import.

I think Ford has done well with the 2010 Mustang, from what I've read and seen. I think it has a good chance against the Camaro, and even the Challenger. I am still mad about the 315HP though, but I hear they're bringing back the beast 5.0L, that might just save the Mustang from its own embarrassment. Yes, Corvettes used to have HORRIBLE susp, and even really bad transmissions, but they did a lot of research and fixed it to make it superb. Ford needs to work on the Mustang even more.

Ohh totally, I really believe Ford could make a car that would compete with the ZR1, they just really need to focus. The GT500 was a mistake in my opinion, however the 2010 GT500 is supposed to have MAJOR improvements. I don't really care about a car that handles, if I wanted a track car, I'd buy a 350Z or a S2000. Everyone thinks the Ford GT was made to compete with the corvette, it was not. It was simply a collector car made for the 100 years that ford has been in business.

The Mustang IS getting the 5.0L V8 bitch, and its also gettin an eco-boost V6. and the reason sti's and evo's beat Mustangs is because theyre lighter, and have better traction. But add a turbo or a supercharger to the Mustang with the same amount of boost, the sti and the evo wont stand a chance.

Each person is different. People come to their own conclusions when buying a car. Mustangs are cheap muscle...that's all some people need. Both the old Mustang and this Si are around 22K. I've never driven an Si so I can't be too Harsh, but your Video shows a 0-60 of 6.5 seconds, while the 2005 GT does it in 5 flat. So, I imagine that the new one will do it faster.

Dam ur dummer than i thought. 4 ur info, the 350z is also lighter, and it seats 2 people. The Mustang is heavier seats 4 people, and has a good size trunk with better safety featers 2. Not 2 mention the aggresive V8 exhaust tone. Plus the driver on the 350z has to b very good to take out a Mustang. I've taken out several 350z on my '04 GT.

To those idiots who bitch about no IRS, this is a model "refreshing", not a complete redesign. You'll have to wait until the 2012-13 redesign for drastic changes. But the new 6.2L hurricane engine is in the cards for 2011possibly. Along with a 350 HP twin turbo V6. The 2010 cars are to tide you over until an all new model comes out in a few years that can compete with Dodge and Chevy.

U haven't looked up the complete stats have u? In mid to late 2010 the Mustang's getting a 5.0L V8 with enough torque and horsepower to push the Mustang to the 12 second range no super, no turbo. The reason an sti will beat a Mustang out of the factory is because it has a FUCKEN TURBO! Give me some names of japanese peaces of shit that'll beat a Mustang WITHOUT a turbo or supercharger. ohhh, and by the way.....WRONG!!! baout ford making a 5.0 for 2010....they have plans to get rid of the v8 and replaced it with only v6 engines but supercharge them, so save gas......and if you havent looked, ford has descontinued many SUV's and your so proud of your mustang, but the civic has been running since 1965 non stop.....same as the mustang....what do i have envy? better quality, better car....so fuck you again!!!

V8's are better. Formula one uses v8's and all the best supercars in the world have either v8's or v12's. Those new civics are nice though and they definately have a purpose. Crazy reliability and gas mileage and not too bad performance either. I would buy a Del Sol immediately if they still made them. Fucking Honda...

there is no comparison....a v8 mustang is faster than a civic....is not even a matter of comparison.....but alot of people here think im trying to do that....when in fact the point i was trying to come across, was that if nissan can put a $70,000 super car....why cant ford? the KR is more expensive, more powerful, but wont match the performance of a GTR...why? see my point? a Z06 faster, better than a GT500 why? a nissan 350z matching a mustang gt in performance..why? see my point?

Yeah I see your point. Mustangs are overweight and overpriced. I'm not going to argue with that at all. They look cool though. Also, Nissan is selling the GT-R for a loss right now to promote it. They should be priced over 100k but then fewer people would buy them.

Ford had a 550 hp car a few years ago. The Ford GT. at the time it was a mid engine car that smoked cars twice as expensive as the ford GT, the GT prize was like 150k. Lets not forget that the KR is based on the mustang GT, which is a muscle car. I am sure that if ford wanted to make a 70 K car it would perform better. Unfortunately the KR is based from a $30 k car. the GTR took years of development and here is the difference.

the 350z has always been more expensive than the mustang GT. plus the mustang offers a trunk, and 4 seats instead of 2. I like most of the cars you mention, but you have to understand that every car has a different purpose. the KR purpose is different than driving a GTR for example. performance is not what all people want from a car.

yeah I am with you. Although I love mustangs, I prefer smaller more compact RWD car. If ford could make a car like the s2000, Saturn Sky I will buy it. I like the mustang GT no matter what, but I have to admit that there are better options. If I Was in the 30 k market I would buy a mustang GT, an s2000, a saturn Sky, or the 370 Z. I wouldn't mind either one.

Yeah, the last car to have common rear wishbone suspension was the model T. Even that was a step higher because that was in the front end, and it had independent rear. I don't know what the hell Ford was thinking when they made that decision.

no, on older cobras that came with irs lots of guys had to swap in an solid axle because ford f'ed up and threw an irs in, solid axle is far superior in a vehicle that 30 percent of the buyers will modify and race. hard core mustang guys wanted a live axle and thats what we got, thank you ford!

Eh? The ordinary Mustang has no solid axle, a common wishbone rear end. If they put in independent wishbone suspension, I'd say it's a good machine, or if they had an independent rear end that would be better. Explain to me why an independent rear end makes a car better for handling.

Point one for you - Mustangs kick ass in drag races. But some people would rather have the suspension, brakes, and steering as improved as the engine output for everyday uses. Personally I like a tight handling car, that goes where you tell it, but at the same time I'd like there to be some power behind it. That's why I think the Mustang would pwn if they had an IRS as an option. Ford could satisfy both crowds, maybe?

It's true! Ford released the specs on the 2010 Mustang. Google 2010 Mustang. The 4.6 gets bumped to 315hp/340lb.ft., same lame ass v6. The stock suspension is common wishbone rear, and an option for a "performance" rear axle for an extra $1000. They also ripped off a feature from BMW for their stability control. Touch of a button puts the stability and traction control in "sport" mode to allow for "more spirited driving".

They need a big yet efficent V6 to compare to the Camaro, which GM plans to sell to 80% V6 buyers. Even though gas prices are down now, they will rise again, so I think the V8 is damn near dead.

Just to let you know the Eco-Boost V-6 goes into the 'Stang in late 2009. Rated at 290hp and still gets 1 MPG better on HWY. Soon to be known FACT.

Don't forget to some Floridian or Californian ladies, the Mustang is a more or less like shoes or a purse (can't think of the word I am really looking for here, but you get the idea) and they will opt for the V6.
