All this comes from the book The Golfing Machine. An engineer, Homer Kelley was very familiar with physics & math, and applied scientific principles to understand the swing movement in terms of it's geometry, the biomechanics of how the body moves, and the physics of force production. Bottom line on the golf swing is mastering the grip, the many components of a proper set-up, moving the clubhead correctly in the first three feet of the backswing & shifting weight in the downswing. That's it.

Golf is a physically demanding sport, and a great golfer needs to stay flexible and be in great shape. The pro’s spend thousands of dollars on golf fitness trainers and coaches to help keep them on top of their game, but for me that was not a possibility. After years of complaining about my game plateauing and about being sore from playing so much I knew I had to do something about it, but after a few stretches I was lost.
Very well entertained. I think you'll be a better comedy star than a golf pro or teacher.golf or tennis or any other sports are just physical activities that can be either enjoyable or frustration in life. Just hit the ball and try to enjoy the day.

The book is basically unreadable with all the technical jargon about power packs, power accumulators and so on, and the photos used to illustrated his concepts are worthless.
Bobby Clampett learned to play from a teacher who worked with the author, and I think the reason why his career flopped is he was too mechanical in his thinking.

As in every facet of our society I'm sure that in some golf course/country club somewhere there are negative people looking down on us common folk. But I've met more cool people than idiotic ones in my experience. There is something so satisfying about the process of the game (the logic, the physicality). Pls Enjoy!

@manoljo... and btw, the golf course where i play is 90% black and run by a pretty much all black staff. my uncle, who is black plays on the senior tour, along with my cousin who is black who plays in australia. most of the men in my family, who happen to be black, play as well. the reason why you don't see many on the tour however, is because black kids generally prefer to focus on other sports.

WRONG, one of my favourite (that's right i'm Canadian and I use PROPER spelling) golf courses, i called Braeben in Mississauga Ontario, it is a converted garbage dump... and the water coming out of it is cleaner than it went in, which is also true for all other courses. the grass and trees provide great filtering for the grey water that they use.

Actually, every thing he says is in a book called the "Golfing Machine." The author, can't recall his name, calls Golf, Geometrically Oriented Linear Force. The book is basically unreadable with all the technical jargon about power packs, power accumulators and so on, and the photos used to illustrated his concepts are worthless.
Bobby Clampett learned to play from a teacher who worked with the author, and I think the reason why his career flopped is he was too mechanical in his thinking.
