This made me feel a little sad because even though Peter wasn't really following the taxi, it's true that he really doesn't trust Walter to be on his own. I want Walter to be independent too, but I think I just don't think he's really ready. I don't understand why Peter doesn't just get Walter a cell phone with a family plan (and GPS device) so they can avoid those panic attacks when Walter goes missing and I agree with Dragon below, they do need to bring back the aviators
