She WAS live. She plays a back track that has one layer of vocals, and sings to it. On her CD, she actually sang the song once, then recorded it again in a lower octave. She does this so that she sounds closer to the studio version. And it isn't perfect, if you listen close. But it is REALLY hard singing and dancing live. I give her props either way. She was fantastic.
Btw, YES this is live - Jive released an official letter stating that Britney's dancing hasn't been crazy because they're trying to get her used to singing live, hence her dancing be cut down so she sounds good - Google it if you don't believe me - Shes not lip singing..she just sounds amazing with a backing track :)

Firstly, she is singing along with the track. She looks great and this is an amazing performance compared to this time last year at the VMAs. She'll pull it out of the bag for the tour.
Also, try simply moving like she does in this video whilst singing the song. Womanizer was never meant to be sung live. There is no time to breath, so unless she is a robot or they change the arrangement on tour, she will be using playback to catch her breath sometimes.

They don't care if the performer is sick, tired of performing, has major life changes, etc. They JUST want the money and if it means pressuring people to make an album just to sell the image, they will. It reeks desperation, but this is the cold hard truth of the American recording industry and the major reason why I never signed one of those contracts. You're life is not your own anymore.
This is how everyone gets paid; record company, producers, promoters, songwriters, etc. So many people are involved in this network and all they want is to get paid.
Some insight on the reality: When you sign a recording contract/deal (especially with a major label) they OWN you for 5, 10, 15 years...however many years you are signed for. During that period of time, they tell you how many records you MUST make.
She's probably too scared to dance properly and sing properly since the media and public attack her for every tiny mistake... its sucked alot out of her
I think she always sang along with the play back even before she got with Kevin. It's because you can't sing well and dance at the same time. Also, I think the reason she was hesitant with her dancing in because of those high heeled boots she had on. She could've easily sprained her ankle if she wasn't careful. But she wore them to go with her costume.
She has sang with play back afew times. lip syncing is wrong. She can get out of breath or the fear of forgetting lyrics. I hate to pay lots of money to not hear live or have them say "it is live" when it isn't. I could easily just watch music video's or listen to the CD. You can not say that was not better than her x-factor. It was. she is improving.

They don't care if the performer is sick, tired of performing, has major life changes, etc. They JUST want the money and if it means pressuring people to make an album just to sell the image, they will. It reeks desperation, but this is the cold hard truth of the American recording industry and the major reason why I never signed one of those contracts. You're life is not your own anymore.

Some insight on the reality: When you sign a recording contract/deal (especially with a major label) they OWN you for 5, 10, 15 years...however many years you are signed for. During that period of time, they tell you how many records you MUST make.

She is singing with the play back. You can hear her voice along with the track. It is mainly called "double vocal" pretty much.
She rarely sings live with out the track....I think she lost all confidence when she got with Kevin.

I think she always sang along with the play back even before she got with Kevin. It's because you can't sing well and dance at the same time. Also, I think the reason she was hesitant with her dancing in because of those high heeled boots she had on. She could've easily sprained her ankle if she wasn't careful. But she wore them to go with her costume.

She has sang with play back afew times. lip syncing is wrong. She can get out of breath or the fear of forgetting lyrics. I hate to pay lots of money to not hear live or have them say "it is live" when it isn't. I could easily just watch music video's or listen to the CD. As far as the shoes, the exact same excuse was with her debute "gimme more" situation. In reality, she lost her confidence and "desire" to do this. She danced more singing live "can't get no satisf" than dancing lip sync!

um. she is singing first of all. You can hear her. She is singing to a play back but she is still singing you can hear her voice. You can not expect her to go from the bottom to the top in one month. Think of her when she first came out in Baby one more time. Her dancing wasn't as hot as it was in I'm a slave for you. She gradually improved as she is doing now. You can not say that was not better than her x-factor. It was. she is improving.

Regardless of the bad choreography that entrance was AWESOME! She needs to get back her old choreography b/c this one ain't gettin it She looks phenomenal when she dances its when she walks around she looks a little confused maybe b/c its been so long since she's been on stage. I used to LOVE Britney, but now she just walks through all of the steps and just doesn't care about her performance as a performer. Having a great stage set-up and excellent back up dancers does not make up for the artist lacking was she used to have.
