  • Timeless!

  • C64 version owns this

  • This song is great but what really stands out is just how good that snare drum sounds considering its a spectrum. Most spectrum games had that horrible white noise splashy sound.

  • Comment removed

  • I think I'm gonna do a remix of this song after I finish up the one I'm working on near the end of the week.

  • Aye. Every kid I knew had to have it.

  • it was around 18 months at number one!!!

  • Anyone old enough to remember how many months this game was at #1 in the sales charts? Seemed like forever.

  • que recuerdos buenos tiempos

  • I was born in 1981 and I had this game for spectrum +2. One of my faves along with dan dare and dizzy and trap door! This is my childhood right here... Take me back please ......

  • Fucking dubstep!!! Ahead of its time or what

  • @jayrave4 Yeah this and the in-game music are just sensentional and indeed ahead of it's time....the whole game was come to think of it.

  • I was so happy when i got this game. Funny how most us young kids had watched Robocop the violent 18 film by that point :)

It was a really good for it's time. And this music, always stayed in my mind.

  • @BVargas78 I shamefully never got this game growing up, I had Robocop 2 instead. This was incredible for the time, the music was superb and the sampled speech was something else. This is definately the closest the Spectrum got to achieving gaming perfection.

    And yes I first saw Robocop when I was 7 at a friend's house.....naughty. =)

  • @Otouto72 I didn't get to see Robocop until I was 18 (strict parents), although I was aware of the game :) So it was better than nothing.

  • Love this tune because it gives Robocop a more ghost-story like feel to it.

  • @SamusDrake This is one of my favourite tunes ever, just fantastic.

  • Awww man brilliant tune, this is one of my favourite Spectrum tunes ever, top class from Jon Dunn.

  • @ceakin84 Yeah this is just awesome, fantastic music.

  • Also, didn't they use this tune for a washing machine commercial? or am I just dreaming??

    :S

  • @malvcalv That would be the Game Boy version, for Ariston....and on....and on.....and on and Ariston. =)

  • @malvcalv u r always just dreaming you know nothing else

  • This tune sends a shiver down me spine... "Serve the public trust, Protect the innocent, Uphold the law.......Classified"

    Awesome as awesome gets :)

  • @malvcalv This game sends a shiver down my spine, the sampled speech in it was incredible, just freaking awesome.

  • whenever i gotta piss i htink of @ILikeStapler. i hope he come back to twiter one day....

  • It's a shame I couldn't never get a Spectrum over here in the states. I've obviously never played one due to my geographic location, but still, just listening to the music makes me want to try it out.

  • @TrekFan85 My channel's done that to numerous people actually, I've helped introduce people to a new world of gaming, the closest thing I suppose would be an emulator, that's what I use for my gameplays on my other channel and it's really good, definately the closest you'll ever get to the Spectrum.

  • @Otouto72 Yes an emulator is always an option, but I don't know, there's just something about using the physical computer itself that is way more satisfying.

  • @TrekFan85 Correct, that is why I rebought the SNES and Mega Drive and Game Boy last year, playing them on an emulator was fine but there's no better feeling than playing the real console.

  • @TrekFan85 ebay . co . uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=spectrum+128k+computer&_sacat=0&_odkw=spectrum+128k&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

Here ya go man...Get one bought. Mine still works, around 25 years old! :D

  • @romanvanpersie Thanks, once I get the funds, I'll probably buy it.

  • DEHUMANIZE YOURSELF AND FACE TO BLOODSHED

  • see the blockbusting movie wasnt robocop a 18 certificate? lol :o)

  • @s1977spw2 lol yeah, it was but yet everyone at my school had seen it on pirate VHS! No-one gave a toss about the BBFC. :)

  • @JayArgonaut And I think they still don't nowadays. =)

  • hehe remember this. I had many games for the spectrum. still have it somewhere. anyways i remember this tune being used on an advertisement with some added effects with a guy saying 'on and on' this tune was pretty good for its time coming from a speccy.. lol

  • @joeinferno23 I had like over 200 games for my +2A but this was not one of them, Robocop 2 I had. This is a great tune, one on the best on the Speccy from one of the very best composer in Jonathan Dunn. And yes the Game Boy version featured on the Ariston ad and Dunn never got anything for it!

  • @joeinferno23 it was used for the Ariston advertisement for their crappy washing machines back in the early 90's. Ariston and on and on....

    sweet sweet youth

  • @indianpassingthru ....and on and Ariston. And Jon Dunn did not get a single penny for it's use.

  • Epic. That's all that needs to be said.

  • @florinthedwarf Totally agree with you. =)

  • I CAME HERE TO WET SOMETHING ELSE, MOTHERFUCKER

  • why is this not the same Title Music as the movie ?

  • I think you should kill yourself robocop

  • dehumanize yourself and face to breadsticks

  • Brilliant! This is one of the best ever games on the 8-bit computers and one of the best tunes too.

  • @FL00PPA This is legendary. The game itself was the closest the Sinclair ZX Spectrum came to perfection! Every detail of it was stunning, including the sampled speech, man that was unbelievable! And the music is awesome, I love this tune and the in-game music. Class game, one of the best ever.

  • @Otouto72 The Speech on the Spectrum was TRUELY AMAZING! It's like making making a dog talk in a circus show!!!

  • @Quazatronn Yeah sometimes it was great and sometime it did leave a lot to be desired but this game was definately one of the best uses of sampled speech ever, just really impressive.

  • @Otouto72 Also impressive use of voices were BLADE WARRIOR, from Codemasters, the Dizzy series and some others that now I can't remember! ;)

  • @Quazatronn Ah Blade Warrior, that's where he says "Rest in Peace" when he dies right? Treasure Island Dizzy I know from heart had speech in it, Nodes of Yesod I think had the speech along with Auf Wiedersehen Monty and Gary Lineker's Super Skills......and there were a few more after that.

  • @Otouto72 Yes, "Rest in peace" and... "Well done!" :) Slighlty Magic also came to my mind! Ah! And Ghostly Grange also! eh eh ehe!!

  • @Quazatronn Ah Slighty Magic! Love the music to that game. Ghostly Grange though? Completely new to me I must admit, must check that one out.

  • @Otouto72 Kwik Snax also had speech as well Puffy's Saga, from Ubi Soft, just to mention some more. ;)

  • @Quazatronn K-K-K-K-Kwik Snax! That's one of my favourite uses of sampled speech ever, even if it is so short.

  • @Otouto72 Yeah!! ;) great speech and GREAT musical scores all along!

  • thought it was used 4 glasses advert, I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW lol x

  • @xJORDAN99x Yeah playing games a lot older than you is quite a challenging.....when your seven years old its even more of a challenge XD

  • @Otouto72 that's true!

  • @xJORDAN99x The game is pretty easy when you know what to do. When the bad guys shoot when crouched there's nothing you can do but take the damage. But fear not, there are always enough health pick-ups. All the other damage can be avoided somehow

I finished this a dozen of times when I was a kid, and I am not even that much of a great player :)

  • This tune was used for a washing machine advert. Ariston and on and on and on.........

  • @TargetRenegadeC64 And on.....and on......and on and Ariston! That would be the Game Boy version also by Jon Dunn. The saddest part, Jon did not recieve a single penny in royalties!

“Yeh, all those royalties would of been great…

Ran for 2 years accross europe on terrestial and satelite. My MU officer said that would of worked out at about £100K…

Everytime I heard it I cringed and switched the channel”

Can’t say I blame him to be honest. I would have thrown my TV out the window!

  • @TargetRenegadeC64 Damnit, This is the song what was used in the washer advert indeed, Lovely machines those old Aristons.

  • @aeg12p I don't think I actually remember seeing an Ariston or at least I never knew anyone who had one, all I know about them is this tune! =)

  • @xJORDAN99x LOL you stand there going WHAT THE FUCK while he energy runs down! Man this game is tough lol!

  • @xJORDAN99x Glad to hear you're enjoying the Speccy games kid! =) Yeah this music is awesome, I love it! And the game is brick hard for sure, I can never get anywhere with it!

  • I love Robocop. One of my favorites. I have this video game on the Amiga. The music is really good. Thanks for posting dude.

  • @superman1234393 Awesome music but not as good as the Game Boy version, that's the best version for me personally. And I love RoboCop, just watched it recently, fantastic!

  • I remember this, love the music. I've got very fond memories of playing the arcade machine in the local newsagents before primary school as well! :)

  • @ianwilson1978 Yeah this game was good and the music by Jonathan Dunn is superb, but I really wish Ocean would have lower the difficulty a bit, man this was brick hard.

And yes I've fond memories of the arcade version as well....that was brick difficult too lol!

  • The best version of this song is clearly the C64 version.

  • @porcorosso81 I'm leaning towards the Game Boy version but the C64 version also done its job. I will be uploading C64 music on this channel very soon so I'll make sure Robocop is one of the first ones I do when I get there!

  • @porcorosso81 I will say though that out of the 3 home computer systems (Spectrum, Amstrad & C64) I would definately say the C64 would get my vote as the best.

  • I don't know why but I find it somewhat amusing that the title screen distinctly advertises the movie, date and all.

  • @DemiLoc Yes I am with you there! Ocean had a habit of plastering their title screen with adverts. Daley Thompson's Olympic Challenge and the Vindicator were the same, advertising some convention

  • @DemiLoc I wonder how many people went out and bought the movie on VHS after reading the advert on the title screen? :)

  • I used to play this game loads, great fun!

  • @paranoidpfanclub Yeah it was a great game but really difficult, I got nowhere with this game usually.

  • Not as good as the Game Boy version but still very good indeed!

  • @lyame6691 A little too fast on the tempo, the Game Boy version was perfect!

  • @Otouto72 Oh I know! Gameboy version is awesome!

  • F***ing awosme! (nobody plays this on guitar?)

  • @Snaiword I would only I've zero talent whatsoever lol! I'd love to see a guitar version someday!

  • @Otouto72 I Learned to play the bass, and almost the whole guitar (exept the fast part on 1.40, I can play it , but not so fast XDDDD) I growed up with the GB version , because I love the movie. Sorry about my bad english ;P Bye!

  • @Snaiword First off, nothing wrong with your English, pretty much perfect to me =D

Yeah the Game Boy version is the absolute best version of this tune! This is great also but it is too fast compared to the Game Boy version!

  • Jonathan Dunn Rules!

  • @enfocarlos Absolutely, one of my favourite composers ever, his music is fantastic! Even dodgy games like Darkman and Renegade III contained great music from J.Dunn.

  • @Korreton I agree this title tune is awesome! The game was brick hard but still enjoyable.

  • i had this for my spectrum back in the day was a fuckin brick hard game hahaha great memories :)

  • @mrshef666 OMG this was so bloody difficult! I still went back to it time and time again and still got nowhere with it!

  • @Otouto72 hahaha me too it was just insanely hard and i remember the second one being just as difficult too haha

  • @mrshef666 Yeah I bought it hoping it would be a bit easier, I personally found the second one MORE difficult =)

  • Er... this is embarrasing. Did you copy my Robocop video?

  • @Musica8bits You know I didn't mean to right? Keep in mind this was one of my very first uploads I was learning and didn't know anybody, think I only had 13 subs and 2 subscriptions (roswell and locomaniac)

  • To dobrzy!

  • im sure the music designers for these games paved the way for the hardcore

    music scene in the 90s

  • I know a few of them were inspired by the Atari chip sound so I'll go along with that.

  • I was crap at this game, but I loved the music! Brings back a lot of good memories.

  • I'm same, I never got anywhere with this game, it was too hard for me, still is today.

  • Ahhhhh man...im gunna cry...i wanna be the kid playing this again

  • I'm with you mate, great days. Speccy days :(

  • Couldn't agree with you. Love live the Speccy!

  • I just absolutely love this theme music for the Speccy even though I had the C64 version, although still brings back those fond 80's memories

  • I Loved everything about this game on my Speccy +2.

    Operation Wolf

    Robocop

    Ultimate Warrior

    Treasure Island DIzzy

    LED Storm

    Way of the Exploding Fist

    CABAL

I remeber arguing with my friend in school who were the better developers Ocean or US Gold. LOL

  • Way of the exploding fist!

That was before Street Fighter heh!

  • Good ol' days, brings a tear to my eye

  • BTW, who would agree that Cabal on the speccy is the best home version of that game. I mean the game to me had the best home graphics too, lots of detail and most of all, the speccy version seem to be the most fun. i played them all just for the hell of it the other day, and the speccy one was the best by far. serious you all need to check it out, real gamers will know what im jiving on about.

  • I do, I prefer the Speccy version of Cabal than the original arcade version!

  • Im sure this came free with Your Sinclair. No demo or anything, just the music.

  • Not sure on that myself, Crash released a demo but if there was a musical demo, most likely it would be one of thos Russian demo you can find on World of Spectrum

  • love it! i used to sit and just listen to this for hours!! no wonder i'm weird!!!

  • Like I said I only had Robocop 2 but I didn't really like the music in it. This sounds way better, I can't blame you for just listening to it all those hours!

  • rock hard.lol

  • Ocean were known for really hard games, guess that's why they sold well. I personally prefered the easier games, less hassle plus I was only 10 years old at the time lol.

  • where can i get an emulator and games from?id love to dig out some old speccy,c64 and amiga titles-perhaps share my own videos too

  • for Spectrum I use Spectaculator but there are other (and maybe better) emulators out there like SPIN for instance. You can download that from World of Spectrum and from there they should have links to help you with the other computers. If not just come back to me and I'll help you out.

  • i used to have this as a kid

  • I only had RoboCop 2 which was a good game but bloddy difficult, was RoboCop as difficult?
