  • Your Video Is Very Useful Sharing offers a complete library of online math lessons covering College Algebra, with a personal math teacher inside every lesson

  • They teach you this in high school, but because most people don't ever use this is daily..you forget and get to take it all over again! :) And the 2nd time you get to pay for it!

  • Im learning this factoring and im only in 8 grade. LOL. College is easy

  • @MrBaIIer "College is easy" You realize this is college algebra and that it's the lowest level math available...

  • Math is my worse subject. I did not get most of what he said. I have a case of " Not doing mental math problems in my head as quickly as everyone else " That means pretty much that I can't give back the correct change by counting the right amount of money to give to a customer if I were able to work as a cashier for a part time job. Is this a type or problem that might make me do bad in math??

  • @dms5805

No not really I used think that way to you just have to over come it and to do that you have to practices practices practices and something will click after that maths is downhill from there.

  • I miss math class. And I miss school!!!

  • Cool teacher. math is so fun

  • it took my teacher 3 days to teach our class this, the rest of the time she was yelling at kids. home school rocks, public school is screwed up.

  • this shit is stupid. screw math lol

  • great videos, why isn't there geometry tutorials?

  • @J45USER You use algebra in every math class, including Geometry. I guess it's because most students struggle with Algebra.

  • &why do i need this to become a doctor?

  • Honestly, I wasnt trying to insult americans, instead I was just questioning the education system in america because I was simply shocked to find out that this was under "College Algebra". By the way if you noticed, I said "no offence".

  • @kibumheart do they teach spelling and grammar in Singapore? Offense is spelled with and "s" not a "c" my Singaporean friend hahaha

  • @Lickmyballs718 we learn BRITISH english, you guys learn AMERICAN english. offence is spelt as such in british english.

  • Comment removed

  • @kibumheart In Countries like Japan and Asia, you can't get into college with bad marks, so Kids are forced to make good grades. Here in America we have something called Freedom.

  • @kibumheart I learned this in algebra 2 in 10th grade. I have no idea why this is under "college algebra". Perhaps this is a review problem.

  • I got everything up to x2+2x-48=0. where did he get (x+8) (x-6)=0. Is he basically saying 8x6+48 and 8, 6 are our prime numbers, Is that correct?

  • I took this in grade 8 o_O

  • lmao college algebra? try junior high.

  • oh this factoring? nvm that was 6th grade :/

  • i am american and in 7th grade and im learning this

  • I am american and I learned this in 7th greade. At my college, they teach this as an intro to other math classes.

  • im normally gd at maths, but WTF???

  • Hey.... i remeber that i took this lessons like months ago and i am just 13 and they will take it when they are in the college ......weird

  • All my old knowledge from middle school math is coming back. ^^ LOL

  • For people confused on where the 4x went, notice how -2x turned into +2x.

And how he got the x squared, he broke the (x - 2) making X squared - 2x due to distribution.

He's not going to explain everything because if you're watching this its probably common knowledge to you.

  • @falsehoodcrow lol! Ok THANK YOU....the -2x + 4x = 2x

  • @100xines He's just working the problem for HIMSELF he's not EXPLAINING ANYTHING. He lost me COMPLETELY after 3rd line.

    X squared - 2x + 4x = 48

    To me.. 2x + 4x = 6x...so I would have gone with X squared + 6x = 48

Instead he changes the sign to PLUS and the 4x DISAPPEARS! Does he explain where the 4 WENT??? NO

and from there on it's just pure GREEK. He says "Notice that our equation has an Xsquared"

How about "Notice how I didn't mention the 4x" Throwing students for a loop.

  • I DIDNT GET IT.NOT ONE BIT....I SUCK@ MATH AND AM STARTING COLLEGE THIS FALL FML...

  • It is College Math (really intro) I had a sixth grade textbook that used to prepare for my intro to college math class. Cause all we covered was: decimals, addition, sub, (the basics), word problems, dimensional analysis (which for those who have not done that in ages...do some before going to college) I didn't get it till four years later. They didn't get to this stuff until later in the book, and we stopped before reaching that chapter. Cause that was Math II's job.

  • Look up "Math 1-2-3 Intro" for private home math tutoring.

  • I recommend this excellent Math channel: ( Mathmatchpoint ) to everyone who wants to become good at Math. He is going to teach you Math the EASY WAY, from the basic to the advanced topics. The great thing is that his videos are categorized within playlists. It is easy to know which video to watch next. This was the least I could do for him (let others know about his videos). Thanks to him, I got 97% on my Math test.

    Go to his channel: Mathmatchpoint

Math will become easy to understand

  • This Is Hard , ctfu !

  • what ???????????? i am so lost

  • "Vedic Math Calculator" Try any number and find tricks to solve it @ maths.kuchnaya.com

  • Yep, i wonder why other countries are more advanced with kids education .. but here in America your learning this crap so late... Hmm...

  • @mexiazteca00 I'm born and raised here (U.S.). I think it's DISGUSTING that the importance of PRACTICAL SUBJECTS, such as mathematics, is not more strongly impressed upon young students.

Instead, the taxpayer-supported public school system teaches alot of useless crap (mythology, for example).

I honestly believe that this is by design. If it wasn't, students would be learning what they NEED to know --- and they would be taught a wide variety of important subjects.

  • @mexiazteca00 .....(to add to my previous reply) It's a way of keeping people down. After alot of thought, I believe that many people in "high" places do not want the typical person to be too educated. HOW IMMORAL! (and I'm not even a conspiracy theorist).

  • Comment removed

  • @mexiazteca00 You learn this stuff in 10th grade. College algebra is basically the same thing as algebra 2.

  • @mexiazteca00 Way to insult the best country, and the one you live in. Go to another country if you don't like it. If you're advanced enough you can take this class at 16, or younger if you skip grades, so yea. Also, other countries don't offer as good an education as we do. European school stops when kids are 16, then they decide to go to universities or to get a job.

  • @MPaluba you sucksssssssss

  • @mexiazteca00 late? My daughter started learning algebra in public school in 4th grade- soon enough to learn a complex concept. I pity the Chinese children who labored over math since they were two only to go to work for Foxcomm to solder computer chips for Apple......hmmm we need math that soon for what?? You don't need math for everything infact it is specific to the job you are doing.

  • @waxedlips The "4th Grade Algebra" is basically adding and subtracting. While in China, they do what the video is explaining in 5th grade. They do it because in Middle School, they start to weed out the students.

  • I wish he was my teacher. Lol, and this is college algebra? This is like elementary school math in Germany.

  • I wish he was my teacher.

  • I teach a course entitled "College Algebra" at a major research university, and this is the sort of thing we cover.

  • This isn't College Algebra, this is elementary Algebra. Nothing wrong with not knowing it, I'm just saying that this isn't something like graphing polynomials.

  • P.S. im in middle school and we r doing this stuff.

  • man make brain hurt.brain say ouch.me no understand mmaaaath.translation-THIS DUDE MAKES ME FEEL SLOW!!!

  • Umm... In America we did this when I was 12.... there's NO way this is college algebra.

  • This shit is confusing as fuck just shove that x up your ass

  • @killerdemon304703 hahaahhahahahhaaahhaa!!!

  • wouldn't 4X(X)=4X^2

  • icould so understand the people that dont get it because i was one of "them" just so bored or "idont give a shit about algebra mentality" but people with understaning you will get it trust me i did now! and i sure paid the price years later

  • Hes so slow wth this makes no sense i think he got it wrong that willl be funny wat a loner

  • I hate algebra and geometry

  • Math is logic that will help you make smart decisions.

  • Math, particularly, algebra is like a puzzle, you need to do well at it in order to get good marks in school..my case!

  • I am not sure where he is getting the 8 and the 6. It seems like he should be further explaining a few steps.

  • @Sunnshyneone i know this is really late, he is looking for 2 numbers that when multiplied give you- 48 however when added give you 2 so MULTIPLYING 8 AND- 6 HE GETS 48 AND WHEN HE ADDS THEM HE GETS POSITIVE 2

  • I have to learn this or I will never graduate college. Math is my worst subject, I cant even really divide without a calculator. this is horrible.

  • zzzzz boring ass teacher!

  • Well I've learned a little something that was cool

  • we studied it on junior high :))

  • In reading many of the comments, especially those replete with the word "s**t", I would have to say to most of you: "EDUCATION WOULD BE WASTED ON YOU!" Don't even make the effort. Education is for those who seek to be better people, not those who want to live in the gutter.

  • @pegcage WELL SAID!

  • solution is wrong you put the signs switched {8,-6}

  • @kehacesche no, it's right. -8 makes the left parentheses zero, and 6 makes the right parentheses equal zero.

  • The point is that the percentage of Americans with college degrees has recently increased to the point that they vastly outnumber the jobs which require a college degree. In fact, in some places like Ann Arbor, Michigan, the joke is that it requires a master's degree in political science to work at Wendy's.

  • OMG! I can say bye bye to college for sure T_____T math is so not my friend.

  • what the hell? I learned this in jr high, and from Texas

  • @snicky0nicky Me too, in California.

  • I was never able to graduate college because of this fucking shit!

    X= fuck off and die!!!!!

  • This is easy as HELL, this cannot be College Algebra, I took this in Intermediate Algebra.

  • just graduated high school and ima need to know all this shit

  • Funny

  • no offence but im singaporean and this was what i learnt in sch when i was like 13.

  • @kibumheart Lol this shit is VERY easy, but honestly when I was 15 I was still in pre-algebra, and I thought that was hard then now I can do this shit no problem, i think it's pretty likely though (looking back at it all) that my brain just wasn't fully developed, but lol, go figure.

  • @kibumheart Yet you can't spell offense, chances are you'll have to spell the word "offense" a long long long time before you have to do this math problem.

  • @MattsMisc erm i dont know if theres a difference in spelling for offence between british english and american english, but im pretty sure i spelt "offence" right. in terms of british english at least.

  • @kibumheart

Your friend across the Causeway learnt this at 15. Malaysian education sucks.

  • @kibumheart US education sucks!!I tell you! it needs a big reform...they are forming retards instead of smart ppl

  • @kibumheart god damn really?????? it just puts things in perepective on how american school systems are huh?? not all just probably the rural parts of the nation etc etc given certian unforutante circumstances

  • @kibumheart I learned it then too, in america, I just have trouble remembering it :P

  • @Zyxyth how? this is a really basic alg problem

  • @Aversity6 I could figure it out. It is indeed fairly simplistic though I apologize for my memory is most definitely not impeccable.

  • @kibumheart apparently they didn't teach you how to spell offense or school

  • @kibumheart this isn't really taken in college i'm taking it in 9th grade at 14 only stupid people will have to end up taking it in college

  • @lylypiano

you need to get over yourself, who cares that your 14 taking this stuff, if somebody needs help in math whats wrong taking this class, only stupid people take this please, only stuck up arrogant jerks like your self say comments like that and u may say o i aced my math classes well when you get to college you will take a placement test lets see how much you remember of how to find the slope of a line in standard form after dealing with derivatives and trig functions for 2 years

  • @kibumheart no offence but im american and this is what i learned when i was 12 in 7th grade. Are you by any chance... retarded?

  • @kibumheart

I'm born and raised here (U.S.). I think it's DISGUSTING that the importance of PRACTICAL SUBJECTS, such as mathematics, is not more strongly impressed upon young students.

  • @ThomasBHofSoCal

dude i don't know what your problem is, but get over it, math is bombarded into children s mind they have to take it every year, second mythology is not a useless class that is like saying history is, what if a student wanted to become a writer, or has a general interest in it, i don't care how smart somebody is in math i don't care if they learned this stuff in 4 grade, the point is they learn it, so get off your pedestal man

  • @kibumheart

.....(to add to my previous reply) It's a way of keeping people down. After alot of thought, I believe that many people in "high" places do not want the typical person to be too educated. HOW IMMORAL! (and I'm not even a conspiracy theorist).

  • @SuperJefjef well your country isnt the one taking the crap that america's failing economy is causing

  • @kibumheart and when did Singapore make it in to space...?

  • Comment removed

  • @iXYourNameHereXi and exactly which country is mainly responsible for the recent financial crisis?

  • @kibumheart I'm from Ohio, and we also learned this when we were 13. So just relax there buddy.

  • @kibumheart lol so are we :)) probably i was 12 i think i learned this

  • @kibumheart

u know it gets really annoying when i read comments like this who cares if u learned it at 13 or in 8th grade, totally different environment and pace than college, second it doesn't matter when you learn it as long as you do so get off your pedestal, you may be have already taken this and Aced it, but that doesn't make the person who took it in college dumber than you

  • okay so i dont get this at all he didnt explain. i need the whole thing explained. I know that the x canel each other out in the 12/x part but why didnt he multiple 4x with 4 on the otehr side or did that cancel each other out too. and how does it ceome x^2 because your disturbuting right but why didnt that happen with 4x. whats the quadratic equation?

  • @gymnastdiving i meant why didnt the x cancel out the otehr x on the x-2 side. i know why 4 wasnt there

  • For all of those guys saying they're doing this in 8th to 10th grade, I did too. I, however, forgot everything (And you will too. Believe me.). You will need to relearn all this stuff.

And now my question that's actually related to the video: How did x^2+2x-48=0 turn to (x+8)(x-6)=0 ? I understand that x^2 was distributed to both sides of (x+8)(x-6), but I do not understand where the 8 and 6 came from, and why one is positive and the other is negative.

  • @Derahnad He's factoring out the quadratic equation. What numbers multiply to -48 that add to 2? Thats where the factors come in.

  • @CherryTreeCherry Ah, now I get it. Thanks.

  • I hate algebra.

  • wtf!! college algebra

that level of math is for 8th grade

well i learned that in 8th grade in israel

  • no fucking way this is college level math. I learned it in the 8th grade!! LOL

even the easiest exercise from my last math test was harder than this, really.

  • fuck

  • Good work, it's helping me out

  • YOU SUUUUCK AS A TEACHER

  • Thanks man good tutoring help me lot!

  • wow... this guy is boring.. my teacher in college is funny and always make jokes about why the fuck we should learn all this shit!!! LOL he actually makes math class fun!

    not compared to this guy.

    sorry.

  • Yourteacher...? this aint my teacher nor the stuff he's teaching!

  • Ok Well since it seems that Myself and a few other are in the same boat...I hate math I am a dubble major ...History/Criminology I never use math. In high school this was not offered when I went, so anyone trying to talk down to everyone else here for not knowing math think about this. My older brother studies Astrel Phyisics I ask for small words and pictures when it comes to my subs...tables turn thats the way it is.

  • high school math

    in america

    is called

    College Algebra

  • im just saying this. Its not that he is going to fast hes just not explaining what he did. this is just like in high school. the teacher would write down exactly what was in the book and wouldn't explain any logical reasoning why he went to that. all i keep seeing is more and more numbers. maybe it was meant just to show you how its done. but this guy as a teacher i think he should find another job. anyone can write out a fucking problem with an answer already given to them

  • Thank you! I couldn't agree more. I'm pretty sure you don't struggle as much as i do with math, but nothing was explained here, and that's precisely what every "tutorial" video should strive to do... enable the viewers to fully understand the concepts being presented. *Sigh* Mathematics frustrate the hell outta me.

  • This is college math?.....I'm doing this in grade 9.....

  • @mewmewfruit Just because the class has the title (College) before Algebra, doesn't make it anymore difficult nor different than whatever you are doing now. You must remember that this class is only one of your basics. My Dual Credit History professor said that all it is is just validating and accrediting a proper education. Assuming that you didn't recieve a "proper" or "adequate" education in high school. You just pay for your diploma.

  • so this is what i can expect form college algebra? sorry if i sound stupid, but i just want to know cuz i planing on taking a semester of it

  • This is pre chapter 1 in college algebra. If you want to see the essentials of college algebra, go to your local university and check out the book. Or check out Math 111. I live in Oregon, and it's the most failed class in Oregon State and Oregon University.

  • This makes no sense at all

  • easy

  • Hang in there kids.

  • wow....just wow

  • omg im dead

  • im the same way i am struggling in math

  • howcome the 4xs gets cancelled and he multiplies the other two to get 48?

  • the x from the 4x cancels out and you get

    4(12) = 48

  • Because 4x4 is zero

  • Im looking for COLLEGE algebra not PRE- Algebra.

  • In Europe

    this is called

    Middle School Math

  • I'm an American, I went to public school, and I was doing this when I was a preteen. When you see stuff like this, keep in mind that a MUCH larger percentage of Americans go to college -- I'd say that there's about a 50/50 chance that the guy bagging my groceries has a degree.

  • what's your point dude ?

    plastic or paper?

  • @dan131m Funny, I bag groceries at Food4Less and customers think I'm a low class level clown. I am currently in the process of achieving a degree in biological sciences...people have no idea that I am an alumni attending a university.

  • The point is: you're bagging groceries!!! If you were actualy smart you would be an intern somewhere of your career interest. And you do sound like a clown!!!

  • @ExRussian86 Your mom likes it when I sound like a clown. By the way, any person would know that nothing can be done with a bio degree unless that person would want to become dirt digger or work in a lab, a job that is almost impossible to get. That's why I bag groceries for now. I've got two more years till I apply at a medical school woot woot!!

  • Then why is he bagging your groceries.

  • @dan131m Unless its a useless degree like english i highly doubt it

  • piece of cake! It's very easy! I'm hungry now!

  • omg this shit is so easy

  • this makes no sense, whats the point of even knowing this shit?

  • @DackJaniels1986 To develop critical thinking skills.

  • @DackJaniels1986 Math builds logic....plus, you WILL use this "shit" later in life if you plan on pursuing a career. Don't be so ignorant.....

  • @DackJaniels1986 , Well, your right there is no point is YOU knowing this, because you have no desire to become an engineer or a mathematician or any other field that requires this, but what it does is evaluate how far or at what level you are "intellectually" if you have no desire to further yourself, then your right "you have shit for "brains"....sorry just kidding LOL :)

  • @DackJaniels1986

i asked everyone i know that lmao..my math teachers always say some crazy stuff i dont want to hear

  • This is easy.

  • Im a freshmen and i d0nt get thiz shit.......... College ughh idk?

  • Guy you all seem to be in a state of panic, but most of this is because maybe math isn't your subject, and that's okay! I'm sure your better at other things and that's what matters. Now what you need to know is that math needs to be taken in with patience or you will go relatively insane.

Math is my best subject for example. I took Algebra in 7th grade and I'm taking Algebra II now in 9th grade. I have the highest grade in the whole school even though I'm a 9th grader. I'm in the I.B. program.

  • i wish i took alg 2 in 9th grade, but unfortunately im a junior in advanced geometry

  • I am really impressed with your teaching style, you're the best teacher unlike others, Congratulation and keep it up

  • i learned this stuff in high school and junio..yes..but let me tel you when your out of school for years, you dont remember this unless your career entails it. now that im going back to college, i have to take a test over this stuff in a few weeks just to place into regular college algebra.

telling you right now if you dont do college right out of high school...you forget a lot becuse you never use it. i was in the army...we dont exactly do algebra daily lol

  • lmao nigguh this is easy shit im taking analysis of functions

  • they call this EASY shit COLLEGE Algebra

I am in 7th grade taking Algebra 1!!!!!!!!!!!!
