@Jukebox60sRox I had a beautiful Red 84 GT-S and it was AMAZING! Handled GREAT...not sure what the issue was with your but I am shocked, mine was a freakin dream....I'd buy one tomorrow if I could find one.
I miss my 84 gt. My older brother used to take me with him streetraceing in it before he was murdered. If you ever seen the movie Gone in 60 Seconds, well that celica was my Unicorn.
I had an '85 with a 5 speed. It had the digital dash and those funky aluminum wheels. Ended up taking the rally style wheels off the '79 Celica I had, painted them black, used the black center caps from an '82 Celica, chrome lug nuts and chrome trim ring then '79 wheels came with and had some pretty unique looking wheels. Made the car easy to recognize when I would see it after I sold it.
Wow single ovehead cam lol, such lovely cars even today, I got a 1994 mr2 t-top, no turbo tho :( still a fast car tho, Toyota made some of the best cars of all time
@anon7320 hell yeah only the gts came with disk brakes in the rear, but the st n gt models came with drum brakes. . . ugh i hated changing those brakes though lmao
I think some Nissans are still rwd, Honda NSX, BMW, Mercedes, Opel Omega and Senator, some other GM US market cars are rwd too and Subaru is 4x4... but yes, we need MORE RWD!!! So let's stick with the oldtimers, not only for the rwd but cuz they look cooler than the current plastic models.
I still have my 1984 GT-S and I can honestly say I never want to part with it. It can still run with some of the newer stuff out here and looks just as good too. The styling was way ahead of it's time even back with the 82 models
Yea.. back when people in commercials were having fun. C'mon Toyota, bring back the fun sporty cars(Supra, Celica, Corolla sr5 and gts, and MR2) and the funny jump in the air commercials. LOL :)
i have a mint 1982 supra, same body style as this, but a little more grunt. i must say that the 22re engine in this is the most reliable thing ever built. no, i am serious.
yea, 22RE are brest motors, my toyota pick up with 22RE, and i pull anything that soo heavy, like i pull about 1 ton fishing boat with cummings diesel. it has tons of torque, and it always starts and keep going and going. 520,000kms on it, sadly rusty quicky, but engine just fine all the time.
i bought my 1984 celica gts five speed about 5 years ago and she still runs amazingly!!! YOTAS FTW

They were still RWD in 1984 right? You have to pull teeth to get the automakers to release RWD anymore.

yea they were RWD, and yea there needs to be more rwd cars on the market today, i agree.
