  • i bought my 1984 celica gts five speed about 5 years ago and she still runs amazingly!!! YOTAS FTW

  • I still have my 84 GT. I call her Connie.

  • @12bucklemyshoe1 ur a lucky man

  • Remember the days when toyotas uses to be fun to drive.. supra :(

  • @cmor5150 lol me too and celica and trueno and mr2.. :(

  • The styling of this vehicle has aged better than most of it`s contemporaries.

  • 0:06 they put the jack on the lower core support LOL

  • @Jukebox60sRox I had a beautiful Red 84 GT-S and it was AMAZING! Handled GREAT...not sure what the issue was with your but I am shocked, mine was a freakin dream....I'd buy one tomorrow if I could find one.

  • @Jukebox60sRox Thats because youre doing it wrong. My 83 GT is one of the most stable handling cars out there. Same with my 85 supra

  • It's 2011 and that 1984 Celica still looks good!!

  • 0:11 Hells Yeah!

  • 0:19 lolol

  • Willow Springs, located in the high desert city of Lancaster, CA. Nice...

  • Bring back the jump!!!!

  • @MikeGuy993 they could, but it just wouldnt be the same with a Prius...

  • I miss my 84 gt. My older brother used to take me with him streetraceing in it before he was murdered. If you ever seen the movie Gone in 60 Seconds, well that celica was my Unicorn.

  • I had an '85 with a 5 speed. It had the digital dash and those funky aluminum wheels. Ended up taking the rally style wheels off the '79 Celica I had, painted them black, used the black center caps from an '82 Celica, chrome lug nuts and chrome trim ring then '79 wheels came with and had some pretty unique looking wheels. Made the car easy to recognize when I would see it after I sold it.

  • i gots me a GT coupe ^_^

  • @MexicanBearFighter me too, I love that car

  • This car was ahead of its time.

  • miss that car

  • Wow single ovehead cam lol, such lovely cars even today, I got a 1994 mr2 t-top, no turbo tho :( still a fast car tho, Toyota made some of the best cars of all time

  • '

this toyota car is so cooooool and better than american car

  • i raced a 7th gen Celica GT in MY 3rd gen Celica GT... and won... older is better when it comes to Celica's

  • *sighs* Oh back in the day, when having SOHC and EFI and disc brakes in a "small sporty car" was a big deal...

  • i miss my 85 toyota celica st. same front end on this and same color but it was a coupe with the 22re-c engine in it. damn thing was fast too

  • @tOugE100 This one does have the 22RE-C =)

I've got an 85 xt, currently bringing her back to her former glory...

And did the GTS really come with rear discs?

  • @anon7320 hell yeah only the gts came with disk brakes in the rear, but the st n gt models came with drum brakes. . . ugh i hated changing those brakes though lmao

  • They were still RWD in 1984 right? You have to pull teeth to get the automakers to release RWD anymore.

  • yea they were RWD, and yea there needs to be more rwd cars on the market today, i agree.

  • I think some Nissans are still rwd, Honda NSX, BMW, Mercedes, Opel Omega and Senator, some other GM US market cars are rwd too and Subaru is 4x4... but yes, we need MORE RWD!!! So let's stick with the oldtimers, not only for the rwd but cuz they look cooler than the current plastic models.

  • a day after my birthday but was born at '99

  • great... now i want one.

  • I had this exact car but no logical reason to sell it. Still looks amazing by todays standard ... better, even.

  • 0:11...holy shit!!!!

  • thats my car!! paid only 450 for it, works great!

  • The last of the great Celicas.

  • Nice wheels.

  • I still have my 1984 GT-S and I can honestly say I never want to part with it. It can still run with some of the newer stuff out here and looks just as good too. The styling was way ahead of it's time even back with the 82 models

  • I miss my baby!

  • That announcer voiced Lex Luthor in the Superfriends, Legion of Doom cartoons.

  • i love these they were fast and made with tcl not like the Toyota's today

  • car soo borring he feel asleep.. lol jk

  • lol. its so comfy, he fell asleep! lol

  • gotta love those old toyotas and hondas!..they dont make em like they used to sadly :(!

  • Yea.. back when people in commercials were having fun. C'mon Toyota, bring back the fun sporty cars(Supra, Celica, Corolla sr5 and gts, and MR2) and the funny jump in the air commercials. LOL :)

  • you mean the *Oh what a feeling* toyota commercial? They still use that in Australia I am serious!

  • No they dont.

  • i think they're bringing back the supra as the toyota FT-HS

  • i heard it was the supra's successor

  • @boofdfast

Yeah, no kidding. They were great at sporty cars. Everything now is just dull. I can't see someone fondly remembering a Venza for example.

  • in america you pronounce it sell ik a in australia we pronounde it sa lee ka lol

  • I live in cannada and i've heard ppl say it both ways but i've always called my celica sa lee ka. iunno sounds weird sell ika.

  • Comment removed

  • i have a mint 1982 supra, same body style as this, but a little more grunt. i must say that the 22re engine in this is the most reliable thing ever built. no, i am serious.

  • no kidding still see a lot on the road.. cant say the same for other cars that age

  • yea, 22RE are brest motors, my toyota pick up with 22RE, and i pull anything that soo heavy, like i pull about 1 ton fishing boat with cummings diesel. it has tons of torque, and it always starts and keep going and going. 520,000kms on it, sadly rusty quicky, but engine just fine all the time.

  • LOL My buddy has an 85' and it really impressed me how modern it is for its time.

  • This is fantasic! I love those cars. Had 4 of them, still have one 83 GTS. Thanks for showing it!
