no matter what, I will always remember this dance as my #1 favorite of all time because it is the one that inspired me to start dancing! I was in the crowd that year and the next year I was on stage =) and even though it's not about winning, I still feel like you guys deserved the gold that year. To me, nobody could ever replace this specific group of dancers. Nope! not even the JabbaWockeeZ (although i love them too). @theaznfishy Routines are around 2 mins for the world hip hop championships. So to have only one formation change for 1 min & 22 secs + keep the same 2 stronger dancers center stage = over a min = over half the routine in one spot. The other crews that beat them were all over the stage.

no offense man, but i dont think you have any idea to what youre talking about. the reason why tony was in the middle was because he was the one who choreographed those pieces. its only fitting for the person to have choreographed the dance to be the one in th middle because he probably is the best at it

@princevinse2625 to both you and @simplyshem. KM doesn't care who is in front. Any professional dance crew does their formations based upon what creates the best 'pictures' during the routine. It wouldn't have mattered who was in front, the strength of the team lies in the choreo not in the individuals. I'm sure Tony and the others, WHO I KNOW PERSONALLY, will tell you the same thing. Only bad high school dance teams or weaker dance crews revolve their choreo around only the strongest dancers!

I mean, Tony, Mike, and even Shawn always go straight to the middle of the group when performing their respective pieces

These guys are too good. Aside from all the obviously stunning moves, intricate choreography and top-notch attention to detail, they have a great stage awareness and know how to use it to their advantage. Like at 1:18, the way the background members bob up and down, counterpoint to the three in the front to add emphasis; similarly at 1:58, the way all the other members "stare" at the two in the middle. KM has always been masters at subtlety. The formation transition at 1:30 damn smooth, too.
