how do you do the slash cancel thing - wiggle the left analog stick or the right stick ? Does this wiggle mean flick the stick or do you have to rotate it or is it just a back and forth twitch? And you have to do it while you press the circle button for the second time or slightly after?

Shoot the damn thing first. You can use ebony and ivory or the shotgun, ebony and ivory are better though. A lot of it is just knowing shadow. He always gives off signs of what he's going to do next. When he goes in the ground and slides towards you, he wants to eat you. Just roll, jump or run to dodge his attacks. When he does the vertical spikes, just run around without locking on. If you use shotgun, shotgun cancel that bitch. Hope that helps! PM me if you need help.

Sword cancel, you either have to press the shoot button after smacking him twice or move the control stick.

no ledgendary dark knight mode for dmc4 is only a mode....its where there r at least 50 demon per fight on a mid+size platform like 50 white knights etc...its not when dante become a dark knight =.= and it only for pc only Oo it comes with turbo mode too...

There's no way you can just skip a mission, so I'm presuming you're talking about one of the secret missions. If it's the Shadow one, you *have* to defeat the enemy in the fountain room first.

Bit late now, but...

That particular secret mission is a one-try event only. If you get killed, it won't be there if you use a yellow orb. If you get killed and save, then it won't be there at all, even if you restart Mission 4. (But it's not gone for absolutely ever - it'll return in the next game.)

I am trying hard as hell to beat the phantom in the beginning. I know I can just run and dodge, enter the last door to the right, then get out and fight other shit but I want to fight the Phantom because I did bad on the first fight with it and I know I'll be running into the son of a bitch later on (so I've heard) so I'm going to just try and get it from here..

if you don't care about getting hit, just stand right in his face and stinger him to death with DT on when possible. If you don't mess up it's a pretty easy way to defeat it. (I do that in normal, no ideas about hard++)

Sorry, you were unlucky... sometimes I answer within hours, other times I don't check my inbox for a couple of weeks, and, well, you know how it goes :p

Anyway, it's called sword or slash cancelling. Do a pair of slashes, then cancel the lag of the 2nd slash by rotating the analogue stick in one full circle, or wiggling it to and fro a few times, during the slash. If done correctly, the putting-the-sword-away animation will be cancelled and you can begin a new 1,2 combo immediately.

You can also cancel the lag of the 1st or the 4th (the 2nd uppercut hit of the 4-hit combo) slash. I'd practice in an empty room first, before trying it out on Nelo Angelo <_<

You can also sword-cancel Nelo's back - it doesn't *have* to be his front.

You can avoid Phantom (the spider) if you like <_<. As soon as the cutscene ends, just run left - you can enter the fountain room without having to fight Phantom.

The Shadow becomes a lot easier when you get used to its attack patterns - whenever it lunges, try jumping *over* it, it won't be able to grab you that way. You can also jump and fire E&I in mid-air to make its lunges miss you too.

For Nelo, just run up to him, prompt his 4-Hit combo, run/jump away, and wait for him to finish. He'll always do a taunt afterwards, during which you can attack him. If you jump over him whenever he's charging up his blue meteors, whack him from behind <_<.

Always wait for openings before attacking and you'll be fine :p

Means they've DTed and become a shit-load stronger - you don't want to get hit by one >_>. A few DTed enemies also get a massive increase in health, most notably Marionettes and Fetishes.

It'll be the same. All the times are the same for Normal mode, except Missions 3 and 22.

On Mission 3, you get an extra 30 seconds if you do the secret mission - but unlike on DMD mode, you don't *need* to do the sm to get an SB... <_<

On Mission 22, you get 5 minutes, instead of 8minutes.

Just stopping won't work; you've got to cancel the lag of the 2nd sword slash. You do that by rotating the analogue stick in one full circle (or wiggling it back and forth a couple of times).

Yes, it's better to reload :p

Keep as many yellow orbs as you can for DMD mode, because items become really expensive in Hard and DMD modes. Also collect all 44 blue orb fragments if you can, because those will turn into yellow orbs in each subsequent playthrough.

For Nelo, I'm also exploiting his meteor glitch. That's where you can force Nelo into charging up a blue meteor, just by jumping backwards from him in a certain way. (Practice, by doing 1-2 slashes to his front when he is taunting/slumped over from a parry, then jumping backwards high and steep and dropping down quite close to Nelo.) I make him charge a meteor, because you can't SC Nelo forever; he'll block after a certain no. of slashes (16 for Nelo 2; 8 for Nelo 2/3)

Stand about 1 foot away from Phantom's mouth, then time a slash JUST as he fires the fireball. Use the peak of the charging up sound as your guide - also, the walls blink dark for 1 second; you can slash when they blink dark.

Some folks use a (grounded) High Time to deflect the fireballs. Me, I prefer regular slashes :p ... But experiment with both and see which timings you prefer - HT is slower, so you would have to slash a tad sooner.

'Kay, for Phantom baseball, run down the corridor then stop just before the red door (you don't want to go any further, as there will be a camera angle change and Phantom will disappear out of sight behind you). When Phantom stops, wall-jump to evade the first, fast-fired, fireball - after that, he'll settle down into a slower-charged pattern.

I've done DMD SB games with Dante before, though, and in fact even have a DMD M1 SB video with Dante. This time round, though, I decided to use LDK :p ... It only makes a difference for the 1st mission anyway - after that, he is identical to Dante in every way if you use Alastor, not Yamato.

Samsombersimba - it takes a bit of practice. Try with a single Shadow first. Walk around in front of it at mid-range distance from it until it stops and its face turns 'globby' - about 1-2 seconds later, jump straight up and you should land on its spike. One final thing: if you want it to send the spear, *don't* provoke it by shooting it :p
